the Mz-s is bit of a gamble due to the cog issue ...there are load of Z-1p out there pretty cheap however ...the MZ-s is an amazing thing its the perfect weight and handling for me ..I was really lucky to get mine so cheap
i know this is a rather absurd nitpick but i really dislike the exterior of the Z-1 series. They just feel like childrens toys in terms of the plastics they use. I suppose it was par for the course for a early 90's camera e.g. Nikon F90 and such had similar body feel.
Yeah I think very much it was a thing of the times and looks very dated today …most of the manufacturers went thru a plastic fantastic moment even contax with the 167MT and Minolta with the 9xi …thankfully the next generation of camera every one seemed to move back to more traditional materials or just less plastic…thanks for the comment

LX is the way to go...nevertheless i want a MZ-S or Z-1p...still unsure which to get...
