What I want to see the most out of this merger is a major focus on park improvements at the Six Flags locations. Cedar Fair is known for keeping their parks looking nice. Fresh paint on coasters, clean environments and some attention to things like landscaping. When I go to Michigans Adventure, I immediately notice how well the upkeep is on even what people believe is their worst park. I have only been to Great Adventure as far as Six Flags goes, and I feel like that park is a dump with old crappy looking buildings out of the 1970s and visible rust on structures like the Superman Entranceway, standing water and puddles with decaying leaves and such. When I watch content from youtubers showing off parks like SFSL and SFA, and I see things like Batmobiles with flat tires, overgrown grass and weeds with water dummies thrown all over, it looks horrible. In addition, I have to wonder how many rides collectively these parks have sitting in their boneyards and if some of these can be used for things like new kids areas. I think they should experiment with at least one new nice Camp Snoopy in a Six Flags park and see how that goes.
IMO Cedar Poiny cleanliness and maintenance has gone down hill drastically over the past few years. Every time I go(about once a week) there are cups, and napkins all over the place, food all over the place, drinks spilled on the ground, and the occasional pile of vomit.
@@johnalferio3146 Agreed . . I think this merger could be a good thing for both companies. I just don't care for the narratives and the pictures being painted that Cedar Fair is this beacon of absolute perfection and over on the Six Flags side everything's bad.
@@johnalferio3146honestly i think the guests at CP are just getting drastically worse
You are very biased that the Cedar Fair way will be the future but forget to identify what’s in this deal for the Six Flags side of the house. While the board rooms may be Cedar Fair people, the majority of the properties will be Six Flags locations - and the culture and politics in those parks will be hard to change. Turn the clock back to the Paramount acquisition, and the IP actually changed quite quickly. You can expect ride relocations, entertainment streamlines (same production at multiple parks) and unified supply chain vendors (Coke or Pepsi everywhere). At the same time ride operations will also change as Cedar Fair frowned on backward trains and free personal item storage. All of this is being sorted out now. Even PR hype, park webcams, and ride sponsorship is subject to change - and it won’t all go down “the Cedar Fair” way.
Finally after over 40 years the Great America parks are REUNITED
😂
HUZZAH
Yep the last time they were Marriotts it's going to go Six Flags Great America and then California's Great America a Six Flags park
Not for long
Ceda Fair just put a lot of money in the Fast Lane scanners and Fast Lane systems this year in many of their parks. I speculate they wouldn't have done this if this wasn't the system used moving forward with the merger
Ehh I dunno, I feel like that stuff was planned out even before the merger got close
The only Cedar Fair park imo that can take advantage of the Looney Tunes is California's Great America as that was their original home before Marriott sold the park
They could save money and share merchandise between the two parks once again
Love the footage of Wonderland, my home park! Glad you guys got up here and visited.
Milo has been there twice and loves it!
As someone in California for Cedar Fair they went from 2 parks to 6 parks if you include the water parks.
Hoping that Six Flags parks gets a big bump in management & cleanliness from Cedar Fair’s leadership.
They definitely will, when I went to various SF parks the quality was so different. The six flags in Texas from my understanding have the best quality
You guys are fantastic. This made me optimistic about this whole thing and not having Six Flags flush Cedar Fair parks down the toilet.
I truly wish for Magic Mountain to be treated like Cedar Point. That park has so much potential to be MEMORABLE. I hate leaving the largest six flags park thinking "yea that was a six flags" You never get to experience it like its supposed to be because of either one train operations or simply the fact that half the rides are always closed. I truly hope this changes.
I appreciate all of the SixFlags Stlouis footage!!! ❤
We have the entire vlog up on our channel
A smart move with season passes would be several different passes. Almost cafeteria style. A 3-park pass for X dollars and the purchaser chooses which three parks. A 4-park pass for Y dollars and the purchaser chooses which four parks. And so on, and so on, and then just for fun a company-wide all the parks for ABC dollars.
This would be smart because the typical customer doesn't travel the country going to parks.
A person near St. Louis may want a SF St. Louis, Worlds of Fun, SF Great America three park pass. A person in Kansas City wants a Worlds of Fun, SF St. Louis, SF over Texas three park pass. Most people in Indiana might want a Cedar Point, SF Great America, Kings Island three park pass. Someone in Oklahoma may want a SF Fiesta Texas, SF over Texas, Worlds of Fun, SF St. Louis four park pass.
Letting each customer design their own collection of parks in a pass would be easy money.
I like the Flash Pass better because of the 3 tier options: reserve spot at current wait, reserve spot at half-wait and reserve spot at no wait. I also wonder if Peanuts and Looney Toones will be a conflict and they wouldn't want to share space at the same park.
Yeah, I actually prefer the Flash Pass as well, ever since they started using that online app. It's great for even when you're not in the park but planning a visit, and want to predict wait-times or check in on what's currently open. Hopefully, they don't get rid of that app.
There's no a lot of overlap between the parks as far as locations go. I don't see them raising the season pass prices except to cover inflation.
Six flags had a realy nice bring a friend system a few years ago i don know if it was the same but if so i hope they bring over the bring a friend tickets
Fast Lane is easier to use and more simplified; however, it can negatively affect operations and crowds a lot more since it has a lot less restrictions (or none at all). I know it's probably not ideal but in a holistic sense, Flash Pass is kinda nice that at least it has multiple tiers to that people can choose from and from how it's set up/regulated, it can avoid that issue of the Flash Pass lines being too long and disruptive to the standby queue. I dunno, they each have their pros and cons depending on the perspective you take.
They can merge both
if the flash pass works at all like how Kennywood's Speedy Pass Works then ill vote for Flash Pass, for Kennywood's Speedy Pass is the most fair Skip the line pass ive ever seen, for the cheapest tier for an all day one is waiting virtually aka the same time as everyone else, and then you pay for for the 50% or 90% less wait. they limit how much can be used and can pause your reservation if there's to many people and etc, as well as having the option for one shots and or ones that work to allow you to skip the whole line immediately once like there older systems, and etc. it may be way more complicated but if six flags's Flash pass is anything like that then its clearly the better choice.
Iagree 👍
I think they will rename both systems into one system with a new name
I think the smallest parks should get the branding updates. Michigan Adventure should have the SF title on it. imo
I think they should drop the dc themeing because a lot of dc stuff and dc rides have recently been getting less popular as movies become less liked and carry a bad reputation
Donny Park in Allentown is a little over an hour away from six flags Jackson New Jersey. They compete for attendance but with New York City and Philadelphia being in the region, it doesn't affect the parks and there's always Hershey Park their competitor
Have you guys ever made any videos about Geauga Lake? From someone who used to love going to Geauga Lake and SeaWorld as a child, I would love to hear what you guys thought about the park.
Jesse has been to Geauga Lake but Milo is not old enough, and no videos from back then
This merger news is a great way to distract from the bunk TT2.
No, not really
As far as IP goes i could see Character meet and greets come to all parks. even if they did a Character rotation, for example June could be for justice league the july could be for the Peanuts gang or even a two week rotation. as far as rethemes i could see it happening more with kids areas and only if they might need a refurb/retheme.
now for passes they could do:
tier1) single park pass with the option to visit another park eather at a discount or included.
tier2) a regional pass that gets you into multiple parks closer to each other. then have a discount ticket option for a park outside your region.
tier3) all parks pass
as far as park rebranding i see 2 options. them adding "A Six Flags Theme Park" under the Park Name (most likely) or doing what Great Escape did when they rebranded compared to other six flags parks like Great Adventure and New England ( but you have to look up there logo to get what I mean) most people didn't notice it.
Cedar Fair operated Geagua Lake for 3yrs after Death Flags ruined it. From 2004-2007 Cedar Fair was still losing profit on the park, and decided to close it at the end of the fiscal year in September.
It will be interesting as what will happen to Darien Lake and Frontier City, Six Flags can't sell those parks because they don't own them EPR Properties is the current owner and Six Flags operates them. This past season and next season, EPR is finally starting to put money into Darien lake with more Titan Track on Predator, new track on Boomerang, and repairing a waterslide for this season, and next year they're refurbishing the Mind Eraser and possible more in that area.
I can see the new company cutting cost and not keeping all the intellectual property. CF is not big on paying for those things. They dumped all the Paramount stuff and recently dumped Intimidator. Looney Toons vs Snoopy? Snoopy may survive because it's probably cheaper, and CF has invested a lot into Camp Snoopy. I can also see them remove the DC name from attraction and make them generic. Other than Snoopy, CF don't seem willing to pay.
What does a typical park really get for their money from IPs? Easy theme work for a cut-n-paste kiddie carnival coaster and merch to sell in a shop? At some point, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Could some larger parks have two different kiddie areas with one being CS and the other LT? Sure, and it could work just fine. A smaller park might not need either.
Every park doesn't need a new spin-n-puke ride themed to SuperGirl or The Penguin....
But could be nice to have the option for two parks where that idea makes sense.
This is great news. Nobody likes change.
im curious to see what there do naming wise for their halloween and Christmas events and weather they will changes if any at all this year or sometime in the future and what that would be.
California Great America is scheduled to close. Hopefully attractions will spread to other parks
The closing is not guaranteed. The city doesn’t want it closed and the company bought it to develop but the occupancy rate is very low in that area so that’s not good for a company trying to build office space.
@@BeachcliffStudiosI think it's going to be saved
@@nathanlopez5667 same , beachcliffstudios said what im trying to say to so many people
Flash Pass should be the system, if you have the high tier every ride is a walkon
That is a nice part of the flash pass
I vote for fast lane. So simple and dont have to rely on my phone to get on rides + the fear of my phone dying.
No properties are leaving the new Six Flags. Richard Zimmerman has already stated that. Only California`s Great America is the only one. He stated, "How do you grow by shrinking" in the presentation conference call. We've already got 2 massive competitions around our park, OKANA Indoor Water Park and Resort (4th largest in the nation) and owned by the Chickasaw Nation ($400 million at 140 acres) and American Heartland Theme Park and the Three Ponies RV Resort, (1,000 acres) which is fixing to restart the construction this summer. Plus, the Legends Tower (1,907 ft.) which will bring in the NBA ALL Star Game with the new Thunder Arena. Richard Zimmerman visited FC last year and toured the 60 acres of undeveloped land adjacent to FC`s main property."
My biggest concern is that after the merger, each park should keeps its own identity. Kings Island, my home park, has all its attractions organically named after NO IP properties...and they don't need the IP's of Six Flags. Let Six Flags parks keep their IP properties and let Kings Island keep its originality (excepting Peanuts in the kids area, which is fine) . I don't really care for the carny IP nature of Six Flags ride theming, just sayin...
I think both can still exist. It's EPs that SF have that can fit into Kings Island
@@beanfresh09 NOPE!! Kings Island doesNOT need any IP's from Six Flags. Kings Island is totally original and is very successful just the way they are. Let Six Flags keep their "carny" theming. If you want that, then go visit a Six Flags park.
100% agree. No IP areas, or rides at my 2 home parks KI, and CP. I'm closer to CP, but claim KI as a home park too since sometimes I'd rather travel 4 hours instead of 1 1/2 hours.
@@Spike-sk7ql Cool. I'm the opposite of you. Im 1.5 hours from Kings Island so that's my home park. Cedar Point is like 5 hours away. Love CP, but I don't get there as often because of the distance.
@@johnd551 oh I still don't get to KI nearly as much as I do CP. Last year we were in CP 52 times, KI only like 28.
Sweet! Six Flags needs a redemption. Season pass 2024 cost as much as a day pass. I done used it up. Can't wait for the changeover!
How about our Disney season pass? Does it give all access to any parks or only six parks
One thing will happen I think. They'll figure out a way to raise prices on us due to the merger.
Also, it's been a bad season for CP so far. The animals escaping could have easily been a lawsuit if one of them hit or injured an attendee or employee.( see yhe video of the camel jumping around next to a guy in a wheelchair?). They had a waterman break in which the park had to close early. And then of course, top thrill 2.which has been closed for over a month now after being operating for just 5 days. "New and improved and re imagined" ..All this has happened in a little over 5 weeks.
I'll still stay loyal to CP as it has been a part of my childhood and been a part of many memories as an adult..but I just haven't liked what I've been seeing lately.
The animals did NOT "escape" they were LET OUT BY SOME DOUCHE CANOE. They have security footage of it happening. How do I know? My wife talks to the lady in charge of the barnyard every day. She also talks to the owner of Honey Hill Farms, the farm that the animals come from regularly.
@Spike-sk7ql okay, even if they were let out, the optics of it are detrimental and they're lucky an animal didn't get scared and hurt a customer!!!
@@Holy_Athletics is it good? No. But how about blaming the freaking idiots who put the animals, and everyone else in danger by letting them out? Those idiots just MIGHT have cost the farm their contract with CP. The farm is not at fault either. Let's stop blaming everyone except the POS's who let them out.
I hope that Six Flags will go the Cedar Fair route with the fast lane when I attended Carowinds and I liked that you can re-ride the rollercoasters without going through a timed/ scheduled. Six Flags has that, I don’t like that.
We agree, fast lane is the more favorable system over flash pass
It's gonna be flash lane. All my money on flash lane. Flash lane is the future! Also, I wouldn't be surprised if there were specifics in the IP contracts that might prevent them from putting DC in cedar fair and such. I have no real justification for this idea, but it makes sense to me that something like that would exist. Just restrictions on how and where each company can use the given IP.
What do think will happen to SF St.Louis as it's the only park of the original three ( Texas, Georgia ) that was fully operated and owned by SF?
IMO nothing! They’ll give them big investment every few years but imo I don’t think they’ll sell it
Since I’m from California how will it affect knotts and magic mountain with a dual pass
We’re not sure exactly how it will affect these things. We assume there will still be an all park pass. There just may also be other options as well
I really hope thatthe cedar fair parks adopt the six flags policy for the ADA passes. Im not holding my breath though. Cedar fair, cedar point, and kings island people have known about the blatant abuse of the ADA passes since 2020, and have not cared enough to do anything about it.
The BIGGEST PLUS in this merger is they both now own FALCONS FLIGHT
Not really though, six flags is just the hired operator of the park. They don’t own the park or any of the rides.
I feel that the fast lane takes away from a lot of the rides I get irritated when I’m at cedar point n just watch the long ass line stand still n let the fast lane people through take magnum for example say it’s a 25 minute wait then u got a group of fast lane like there’s so many times that I’ve left the line due to the fast lane issue I don’t think cedar point needs fast lane at all like people that r waiting in line for 25 now wait a hour or hour n half just cuz of that I feel Cedar Point shot them selves in the foot it’s not fair for the original line to wait longer while u fast lane people get to hope the line like it’s annoying n watch some fights break out eventually over this I’ve seen some happen when I was there over this it’s a bad idea to have even thought of that !!!
It’s a service that’s available to everyone so it’s fair. They can technically sell out but that’s very rare. So since it’s open to everyone it’s definitely an option that should exist
Cedar Flags
A1 video
Thank you
Now the question will six flags work with Intamin. I know cedar fair doesn’t work with Intamin.
Six flags was already working with intamin for Georgia surfer
I am taking about after the merger.
Six Flags has more amusement park than Cedar Fair parks
Yup, they have a few more
My question is, is safe to say that are trying to keep up with universal or attempt to?
😂 Universal is a real theme park. Cedar and Flags are just amusement parks. They have great rides, but everything else leaves a lot to be desired. With Epic opening next year, not even Disney will be able to compete with Uni.
Different business plans and focuses. Universal and Disney are in a different category from most every other park in the country
@@batshtcrazy5293 Couldn’t agree with you more. lol Can you imagine how expensive it’s gonna be to get into Epic Universe. Lol

This entire thing is terrible for Cedar Point. Details don’t even matter.
Literally disgusting. But hey in the ever pursuit of more quarterly profit this was the only option.
You can't say this and then not provide details
Selim has no shame. He should leave, but the money is too good.
I’m glad he’s staying around. He will keep Cedar Fair honest. Keep them from stacking former CF parks while ignoring Six Flags
I believe he was hired as a fall guy from the start.
"Six Flags" ia tainted, they should have used Cedar Fair, give the 6 flags parks wuth a bad wrap a rebranding
Six flags just had the better more notable branding regardless of what enthusiasts think
Milli, fury, orion will all be Goliath, stupid poop hats and capes
You’re definitely as far off as it gets
Another Big Big mistake by Cedar Fair I feel to go along with their Zamperla BIG mistake with TT2 ! Sorry to be so negative……but just the way I’m feeling about these.
You’re not being negative you’re just stating your opinion. Personally we don’t think it was bad to do with zamperla because you never know. But zamperla messed up big time with this and really need to make things right to keep any sort of reputation in the industry.
Six Flags themes their parks like Gotham whether they like it or not. They all look like ran down Detroit
Can't wait for Six Flags Over Lake Erie
I am not. I wish they kept the Cedar Fair name.
@@lovepugs05 That completely defeats the purpose of a merger
@@ThousanWhiteno it does not. Theu could keep the Cedar Fair name or call the parent company Cedar Flags. That would make sense. N9t getting rid of the while Cedar Fair name?
It's been stated a billion times they're not slapping Six Flags over a CF park

I can’t believe Disney is buying them

With the issues relating to TT2 they should have hired the former CEO of Boeing....lol. Most of these CEO's, CFO's are clowns, I was "VP of Operations" previously most of these individuals lack common sense and the "technical" aspect!
