@@MrHaaspaulThey aren't putting anything in the old dorms spot besides a new Marina building. That is much more needed there than yet another coaster. Tophat needs reprofiled in conjunction with train mods to recenter heartline roll on far side closer to what dragster was.... Other than that seems like redesigned trains all that's needed .
Cedar point flatters themselves. They're like the pigs on the top floor of that movie the platform. Taking the best and leaving the scraps for the rest. We head up a few times a year for their, yes, great coasters, but also their huge concrete midways, epic long lines, overpriced food and the constant breaking down of rides after waiting over an hour. Ki is our home park and I'm glad it is. And that eyesore of the empty vortex plot isn't going to fill itself cedar flags.
Guys, that device that people thought was for finding cracks in the track is really a 3D model camera like the Raptor CR scanner to 3D model the track. Most likely to re-profile the twists on both sides of the top hat as they really throw you around.
I have a theory for the height difference between Energylandia’s Vekoma Tilt Coaster and Cedar Point’s Siren’s Curse: I suspect that Energylandia measured the height of the lift from the ground up to the flat dead end track before this section of track actually tilts. I suspect that Cedar Point measured the height of the lift from the ground and then they included the height of the tilt track section when it was tilted into the verified position. To me this makes sense to explain the height differences between Energylandia’s stats and Cedar Point’s stats for the same exact coaster.
I thought the same until I read the press release which states: "you ascend an old 160-foot-tall Lake Erie shipping crane tower...The creaking platform holding your train will slowly tilt into a 90-degree vertical position." I don't think they would have written it up that way. I did some digging and found some of the documentation for the Energylandia ride. All the specifications state "not less than". My thinking was Vekoma may have worked up the math and figured that in order for them to deliver the "not less than 85 km/h" speed requirement they needed to up the initial drop to over 48m (160ft). Just a thought, though.
Chuck here, 2025 is looking really good. Cedar points gonna be the place to be with Sirens Curse and Top Thrill 2 most likely being back open. I'M also looking forward to Alpenfury at Canada's Wonderland.
Here's my thoughts on ka....isn't there a certain park that has a large plot of land that has been vacant since 2019...I think it would be great replacement...refurb it...idk.just guessing..Chad Showalter may want it...
I don’t see why they wouldn’t just convert Ka. Probably won’t be difficult since Zamperla will have everything figured out by next year. I don’t care if I sound insane, the only worthy replacement is an exa coaster. Plus Zumanjaro is on there and that’s a whole other attraction that’d be scrapped. Maybe even Intamin will come instead of Zamperla with their original TT2 extended layout design. I just don’t see demolition and replacement with something smaller like a giga making sense. Taking Ka out is a huge shoe to fill and probably going to be a huge negative change for this park and after that I only see it getting worse with more removals. It also feels like Cedar Point/Fair getting revenge for Great Adventure stealing OG Dragsters records. I’m holding out nothing but hope for the conversion Ka and the Golden Kingdom need revitalizing anyway. Should put a flat ride pack where Temple of the Tiger is, where they used to have the tiger shows and around that area in general where there’s room.
I’m excited for a modern Vekoma thrill coaster finally coming to the US. We’ve seen several family new age but not any thrill. Well the super boomerang but it’s not open yet. The ride mechanic has a convincing video over Kingda not actually closing. He seems to believe it’s just another rumor. Gives his reasons as usual.
My take on KingDa Ka. We will not hear anything about the coaster officially until TT2 is up, running and reliable. If they close it I would imagine they will re imagine it as well. That being said if what it takes to get TT2 up and running ends up being a full redo of track, they might just say screw it and tear it all down. I def think if they do close it, they will wait to see what a finished and running TT2 looks like on paper before they decide what they do with KA.
Great video ! I really hope Top thrill opens up it is just crazy how he almost have no idea what is going on with it. Whenever I go to cedar point once a week I go over to see if they changed anything for the ride. Top Thrill 2 was an amazing Ride I was able to go on it 4 times
So excited for this coaster it will look awesome on that Midway and it will look awesome in the skyline its going to be the 7th tallest coaster in the park. Ugh can't wait
I really think they are going to look at what happens with TT2 and seeing how it works before finally making a decision on Ka. Right now, dragster is the guinea pig. Zamperla underestimated their train design and what would the heartline changes could do to the track. Now they have to eat the trains and reprofile parts of TT2. It's going to come down to money, what did cedar fair pay for TT2 reimagined and how much did it cost overall after zamperla fixes it. Then they have a true idea of the total cost. If TT2 is successful next season, then they have to look if it's a viable option to do to Ka. If the overall cost of TT2is too outrageous and more than a new replacement then Kingda Kas fate is sealed.
@@BeachcliffStudios exactly. Zamperla is eating this added cost I'm sure. But now they hopefully know what goes into a strata. And every bit of engineering they learned from TT2 will increase the cost on the next one they attempt. They know better now. They are probably doing all this work on TT2 on their dime, and then it still has to be damn near perfect. It's basically turned into a zamperla R&D project at this point. What might work out into an advantage though for six flags entertainment Corp, because in the end fixing TT2 for free doesn't do anything for lost revenue being recovered. Zamperla not only has to make TT2 right, they also have to make it right monetarily. Which could mean a discounted price to update Ka or discounts on other products etc.

Also, there have been several far fetched rumors of teasers at Kings Island regarding cryptic displays at the old Son of Beast station. one poster references the River Mining Company (each letter spelling out RMC). Ground up RMC Revenge of Son of Beast in Kings Island’s future? 😮 Perhaps you guys can investigate further.
I know it's probably not correct, but I've decided to ride this train until I hear confirmation either way. There are so many potential clues, and even though sirens curse just demonstrates that sometimes they just do stuff and don't hint at it. It's too fun to dream.
We haven’t ridden that yet but hopefully that is making for a less miserable experience. But from what we understand it’s bad no matter the restraints are.
Everyone is also forgetting that Tony stated back in April and at Coastermania that the next project contract was already signed. If Siren's curse is that project then the hand me down theory doesn't fit. Also if that rumor is true then is there still a contract signed for a different project?

Thanks Jesse and Milo for doing this video lots of information as you guys mentioned Kingda could go either way with the high maintenance costs it would make sense to shut this ride down and replace it have a great day guys
I think cedar point got a great deal on sirens curse because it was just collecting dust in Mexico because the city in Mexico said not to chop down any more trees. It will also soften the blow of tt2s current status.
I would have thought as far as legacy SF parks go, Superman (MM) would be torn down first...maybe they give Intamin the chance to reimagine Ka and then we can see whatt TT2 could have been
The rumor is that they wanted to renovate it, but TT2 having all these issues led to them deciding to just remove it entirely. Obviously could be fake but I've seen a few places saying this.

At least the ride mechanics video suggests just that. They did 3D scan the entire track. They’re doing something with that I’m sure.
