Here's one to avoid: If you're staying in an off-strip casino (e.g., Orleans), do NOT try to walk to the strip. It might look close because the buildings are huge, but it's a pretty long walk, you're out in the desert, and the non-strip streets are not all pedestrian-friendly. I did this one time to avoid a long line for the shuttle (and because I like walking). Huge mistake. I arrived at the strip sweaty, exhausted, and covered in dust. I had to sneak through a construction site and climb over a fence just to get to the strip without going an extra half-mile out of my way. Just wait for a shuttle or take a taxi, trust me.
One of the top mistakes is not taking into account the high resort fees. In some cases that free hotel will be more expensive than staying in a hotel off the strip.
Great advice, we should've included resort fees in this video. For our Wynn stay, we didn't have to pay any resort fees, but with free nights on myvegas, you do.
Lived in this town off and on since 1970. Drove cab for 8 months. Do not let them take you through the airport tunnel when trying to get to the strip. Paradise road run parallel to Las Vegas blvd on the east side. Use to get my fares from the airport to the Excalibur hotel for about $10.00 to 12:00 dollars ( this was back in 2003/2004). Fares have gone up since then. Not all drivers will long haul you but you need to be careful. If in doubt, take down his name and placard number on the dashboard and file a complaint with the taxi cab authority. If he get to many complaints, his placard is pulled and he cannot drive. The hotels serve stiff drinks because you will make mistakes when you gamble. The buffets used to be a lot better 30 to 40 years ago and much cheaper. Avoid the slot machines and stick with blackjack ( also known as 21 ) or baccarat ( also called chemen de fer ). Much better odds.
My husband and I always take the city bus, every time. $24.00 for 3 days at 24/7 a day. Goes from the airport to the strip and even Fremont and back to the airport. Much much cheaper way to see Vegas. Use it as much as you want going up and down the strip
Do not get the taxis they are the most expensive in the country instead I give you great advice by a 3 day bus pass $20 You can go up and down the entire strip and even downtown that is my best advice
Luis aguilar we got a taxi from airport to hotel and it only cost $15 and we had 4 large pieces of luggage and two people, same for our return trip and it took 10 minutes to the airport
The biggest mistake I made on our first Vegas trip, was deciding that it wasn’t too far to walk down the strip from Excalibur to the Convention Center. I’m a distance runner, so I thought “what’s a few miles walk... “ yea, it took half the day and my feet were covered in blisters!! I quickly discovered the Deuce and Monorail after that.
My mistake I made our last visit was carrying a (large) purse and everything in it. My shoulders and neck were dead by the end of the trip (I switched shoulders when I could). Next time I am bringing a back pack with cushioned straps. A tip for anyone who has never been to Vegas - there is so much to see and do - don't expect to be able to fit it all in one visit unless you plan on staying for several weeks to a month. Every time we plan to do certain things, there are always a few things we simply run out of time to do because like you mention - it takes a lot longer than people realize to go from one casino to another. Even a quick trip from the hotel room to our car and back to the room can sometimes take 25+ minutes depending on where the rooms proximity is to the parking garage.
Wish I saw this 2 weeks ago. Just got back from Vegas, and my shoulder was literally bruised and chaffing from carrying my huge purse around. I did keep a large water bottle in there filled with ice water though. I wasn't about to pay $6 for a 12oz bottle of water on the strip. 😂
Tangerine Travels Maybe ice cream and slushy will keep me cool even though I keep water in the freezer until they get hot later whenever it’s time to drink.
Lol. If you live here, gambling is NOT for you. There are so many year round activities, hiking and boating, sports, beautiful parks etc here. Been here 30 years. Haven’t been to strip in years. Luv it here!
Yes, great advice here. My husband and I go to Vegas on an average of once a month. We live 3.5 hours away and prefer going to Vegas vs. the Indian Casinos. Here's my best tip for travelers that are met by those "timeshare" people when entering the Casino. I learned this because they got us two times at 4 hours each per presentation... Drum-roll please!.... Show them a THUMBS UP!... That's it. They all know that sign. It means that you've already attended the Time Share presentation! The "thumbs up" works most of the time in the big casinos. If by chance it doesn't work - it's because the person is a "newbe" and probably doesn't know the signal yet.... Enlighten them.
Tasha Good tip, but my wife and I got suckered into going to one of those presentations once. “It takes about an hour or so and you get totally free front row tickets to all shows, $10,000 in slot credit, a dozen steak dinners, six lobster dinners, a car (each), free airline tickets, $1000.00 shopping spree and six glazed doughnuts.” (or something like that) Well, I like doughnuts, so we went. Five hours later and no gifts, prizes or doughnuts, we escaped. So NOW I know the secret sign for them too, but it’s NOT a “thumbs-up”, it’s an aggressive and immediate middle finger, held high, for all to see !
My husband and I went to timeshare where we live in Reno and again in Las Vegas just for the free stuff... They figure out quickly that we are there only for the free stuff. By the time we were on Maui, the timeshare people figured out that we had seen the sales presentation twice already and got annoyed with my husband checking how well the plumbing was installed that we were out of there in 5 minutes. I had not even finished my free muffin and juice. Yes, we did our free snorkeling lol (3 hours of fun for 5 minutes and a free continental breakfast).
@@thatvegashighrisedude2757 lol... I remember one time my friend said "I have a bottle of goose, let's pregame" to which I replied "fuck it, what's the worse that can happen?" And woke up in the back seat of a car laying on the ample breast of a BBW... #funtimesithink
Lol you guys are so funny and down to Earth. Jordan running laps made me laugh lol he reminds me of one of my close friends who moved away a few years ago 💜 very helpful video, sending positive vibes
that actually just happened to my wife and I the other day, we were leaving the casino, and decided to drop a 20 in a penny machine, fist spin we won over $900. Cashed out and left!
We're local and when we returned back from vacation once, we had to cab over to the strip where we left our hotel in valet while on vacation (this was years ago), the cab driver took us the long way and the fare was like $30 something...we told him we were local and asked if there was a backup somewhere and why was our fare so high. He got all flustered and we told him sorry, no money for a tip due to the high fare. He quickly reduced it in half, so we did end up tipping him. Now we just Uber from home to the airport. Also, people, don't buy music CD's on the strip. My friend busted these guys a couple weeks ago selling blank cd's with writing on them for $20. He literally pulled out a portable cd player and the guys grabbed the cd and took off because they knew they were busted.
37 year old Missoula MT boy here. This video is helping a lot. Have worked In casino for years, but Vegas is so different I’m fn stoked! Leave tomorrow!
As someone who used to travel to Las Vegas regularly and finally moving here, I would suggest you try an off strip hotel like any of the Stations brand, Boyd Gaming brand like Sam's Town. or the.M Resort. Their room rates are MUCH better and they often offer limo service. and their food is fantastic. Just a thought, but with the MGM raising resort fees to $45.00, it makes sense to look for a better value.
Biggest mistake is everyone leaves their brains on the plane.....Most tourists don't follow the laws, especially walking across streets when you're not supposed to
Just today I was enetering Wynn on a green light and people are still crossing the intersection. I don’t care what laws you have in your state or country but when the green light is on for motorists you stay on the sidewalk until the pedestrian lights come on. God! I hate those kinds of tourists.
Go to Cabo Wabo and get a seat overlooking the strip. I can sit there and drink margaritas, and have chips and salsa all day! The freak / fashion show is endless. For cheaper food, just go to the foodcourt at fashion mall.
My biggest mistake in 'Las Vegas, is paying 'Resort fees. With all of the walking up and down the 'Strip, Las Vegas hotel needs to add 'The Universal Backwash & Massage Unit. Clean, stress and pain-free.
If you're used to driving in any major city, Vegas isn't bad. We bring our own GPS and always rent a car, because getting off the strip is one of the best ways to avoid tourist pricing. The Hoover Dam is worth a look and so is the winery in Pahrump. Taking the Deuce bus to Fremont street is fun and cheap, but come back before the last bus which is generally jam-packed.
I was born and have lived in Las Vegas my whole life, it gets really repetitive and tiring and because I’m a 16 years old, it’s even worse. I’m going to Colima, Mexico where my family and parents are from in two weeks!(For 2 Months) It’s a great escape from the city, and I always have the absolute best time. 💕
·Gisela Luna· yeah it’s a lot different when you’re working your ass off and come to Vegas for a couple of days to spend a little hard earned cash. Moderation is key.
Very cool video guys! 👍 I hadn’t been to Vegas much at all (twice in 25 years) but went recently to see how many magic shows I could cram in. I planed to do 6 shows in 2 days. I did 5 then bailed on the last one to see Cirque’s O instead which was fantastic. 3 shows per day. The one thing I super learned that was tricky was some tickets had to be PICKED UP AT THE BOX OFFICE which was HARD to do...finding the office which was usually nowhere near the theater took WAY more time than I’d factored in, PLUS often it was required to wait a certain amount of time eg 1 hour before the show beforecyou were permitted to pick them up, so I couldn’t just arrive in LV and go grab all my tickets. NEVER will I do that again if I can simply book and receive e-tickets online instead. Another HUGE thing I learned is very often Uber or lyft would go to the wrong place to pick me up (eg the Hotel next door) because on the map it kind of books you automatically via location...then they’d cancel cuz I wasn’t there (when in fact they went to the wrong place) so I’d be stuck with $5 cancellation fees each time. It happened A LOT!!! Be sure to thoroughly know how to check where they are going to pick you up BEFORE accepting the ride booking. I found that about 35% of the time the app had me in a different location for pick up. SPECIFY by typing in your pick up hotel location instead. Those were the two big ones for me but I still managed 6 shows in two days! Very happy!
Yo you guys are all saying good FACTS!!! I been living in Vegas for 13 years and I know how VEGAS works. I also work on the strip, I work where you guys were staying at lol
I definitely agree on bringing the sweater or jacket because yes, it is freezing in the casinos. Outside it may be 110 degrees, inside it feels like 40. As for the timeshare people, ignore them. Just keep walking. Don't even worry about being rude, just keep walking.
I live in Los Angeles and all I had to do was do a search online for Las Vegas cheap motels and found one for $50 a day for 2 nights without the resort fee just outside the Strip next to the Stratosphere. I traveled to Vegas using the Bolt Bus for only $25.00. I bought my breakfast at a McDonald's near my motel and bought my lunch and dinner from a taco truck for less than $10.00. I only went there to visit a friend who worked at a show that I went to. She got me in for free because she works at the show. Sightseeing alone is not my thing and I wasn't much of a gambler. So I saved a lot since all my itinerary were planned ahead of time.
I adore the Wynn and MyVegas apps! We haven't paid for a hotel room in Vegas in years. :) Last trip, we stayed 2 nights at Delano (which had a separate living and bedroom) and 4 at the Wynn, and got an upgrade for $50 a day--which we expected to pay with the resort fee that they didn't apply because we got the room with the app rewards. It included two $50 breakfasts each day--and had a room with his and hers bathrooms, and the sofa you were feeling like you missed. Your videos are so great. You're giving viable, helpful information without telling people to be cheap. This is my kind of Vegas advice.
The information that you offer on your videos helped me greatly on my recent trip to vegas. It was just sad that the buffets were closed, but I still enjoyed the food offered at the hotel I stayed at, Aria. I hit 2 jackpots for over 5000 dollars, needless to say I didnt come home with all that money, that was my fault but I had fun. However now I got 4 night offers with 800 in freeplay so I will be returning back to vegas real soon, and this time when I win I'm going to remember to walk away. I may play you guys video while I'm gambling so I want get caught up in the hype lol. Thanks again for the information.
Get a special package deal in the off season (usually summer) and don't forget if outside have sunblock. Before I went friends would say "it's summer, but it's DRY HEAT" and I now say "SO IS YOUR OVEN !" It's a desert and don't forget it. Also at the airport the casino hotel you're staying in often times has a shuttle buss that's free.
Im a regular to vegas. But i remember my first time. Back in '06. Wanted to feel like a baller. Buying expensice drinks. Going to the best nightclubs. And spent all my money gambling. Haha. Now i get to vegas, go to the liqour store, and favorite dispensary. And just chill and enjoy the scenery. Idk what i was thinking back then.
What's your favorite dispensary? Also, how do you go about enjoying the product? I'll be in a hotel room that doesn't allow smoking, is it cool to just light up in a low key spot there? I've never been to a legal state, so I'm not used to the freedom haha
My Aunt loved to gamble. She taught me right. She said that you have a certain amount of money to gamble with and win or lose after that amount of money is spent on gambling you go enjoy the other parts of Las Vegas.
you should make a video for people that have been to vegas already. There are too many first time vegas videos. I went once, researched like crazy, saw nearly everything and had a blast. Now im going back and I'd like some "advanced" tips
Jimmy Forester My family and I have been to Vegas many many times. We always stay off the strip at the lesser known hotels because they are cheaper and the gambling is a bit looser. But that’s only if you don’t feel the need to walk up and down the strip all day. The Orleans is ok and has a bowling alley, movie theater and nice pool. The big hotels are now charging for valet. But the smaller ones and the ones on Freemont street are free and all you have to do is tip a couple of dollars. Most hotels will give you coupons. Carry them around and don’t forget to use them. They can save you some money.
I have been coming to LV on and off since the early 70s it has changed a lot. my wife and I were even married in LV back in 1979 (40 years ago) and we are still happy together. So LV has a special spot in our ❤️. Great video 👌 and good tips.
I actually bought a time share. It’s different than just one location. The time share company I bought into has properties all over the US. It’s been totally worth it so far. And we will be staying just off the strip on our next Vegas trip. But TT is totally right. Don’t get sucked into a time share presentation while in Vegas.
Great advice guys - Been going to Vegas since 1980 - I believe the biggest mistake my wife and I have made was stay for 10 days - even though we budget for gambling, 10 days was too much - lol. We now go for 5 to 6 days - enough time to enjoy the shows, tours, such as the Maverick Helicopter 🚁 tour to the Grand Canyon, and the various fine dining options throughout each resort. We also know now which free trams to take to easy the walking 🚶.
Timeshares a COSTLY BAD idea. First, you will NEVER recoup the built-in marketing & admin costs of buying one, and second, wait until you want to sell it but can't because of the contract you signed when you bought it, which will lock you into making payments on something you no longer want but are financially obligated to continue paying for. Research the pros & cons of investing in a timeshare before going through with it.
Yeah, most people that I've talked to end up dissatisfied with their timeshare purchase. If one wanted a timeshare, they're probably better off buying it on a 2nd-hand timeshare marketplace. And for clarity, on the timeshare part of this video, our intention was to talk about whether or not the timeshare presentation itself was worthwhile in relation to the freebies you get. We didn't mean to imply that we were talking about the value of timeshares themselves, although, we'd generally hold the same view.
On the strip, most buffets are no longer cheap. So when lunch time rolls around, ask yourself if you really need to spend $25 to $32 for a buffet, or if a sandwich and a drink would suffice. You can pick up lunch with a soft drink at somewhere like Earl of Sandwich for under $12. And you won't feel bloated all afternoon. And if you're shopping, Fashion show Mall has a big food court on the top floor with a dozen choices.
I've been to Vegas twice (many years ago) and my brother lives there. Here's two things I recommend as a tourist. 1. Check if your Hotel has shuttle service to and from airport. You'll save $$. If you do take a taxi or Lyft or Uber do NOT tell them you've never been to Vegas before. 2. Do not rent a car to go to attractions outside of Vegas (ie Hover Dam). Book an excursion at your hotel. You may be confined to a time schedule but you get to relax on a charter bus and see multiple attractions, some of which you had no idea about. My has this advice. Just because Vegas is a desert, doesn't mean it will not rain. However, when it does, the streets can flood EXTREMELY rapidly, so as soon as you feel a few drops head indoors until it stops. Also, don't feel as if only the BIGGEST and BEST hotels have the best food & drink. Some smaller places have incredible little restaurants inside. Find a local and ask for recommendations off the strip as well. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
They tend to give good advise, I frequent Vegas quite often and have never had a bad experience. Trying to remember all these money saving tips is cumbersome in my opinion. If you have to concentrate on penny pinching in Vegas, well you shouldn’t be there in the first place. It’s not for the financially faint of heart. Vegas has become extremely expensive and it’s not gonna go back to the good ol days of comps and bottomless drinks. Set a budget, know your limit and have fun.
Only difference between losing a dollar in the soda machine and losing a dollar in Vegas, is at least you can cuss at the soda machine and not get arrested.
You're right-tons of walking and lots of those bridge things to go up/down to cross busy streets. I'm all for pigging out at buffets. Helpful tip--Beverages are super expensive on the strip. If you can find a mini mart or souvenir shop (some over in the NYNY area) you can get soda for a buck or two vs $6 at MGM. Also-I agree that getting places takes forEVER. Do NOT use the hop on/off tour buses as transportation, because they are NOT always reliable/on schedule.
@@kenken5431 I kept making bets on 'the field' on the dice table. My buddy said, "Don't do it. It's the worst bet on the table. You'll lose your butt." Every time he said, 'it's the worst bet on the table', I increased my bet.
@@cutweldngrind Yeah, like my buddy said, It's the worst bet on the table. I lost my butt. However, it was a real comfortable bus and great not to drive.
There are some wonderful restaurants in LV off the beaten path. The German Restaurant on Paradise is a MUST, but my very favorite is Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens downtown. I lived in LV for 13 years, and all the locals love it. A long stem red rose for the ladies and the best King Crab Legs in town. The salad cart is amazing! Who would think a little place at the Four Queens would have the best in town? Reservations for sure!
I sat at gate in Mccarran airport waiting to take off. Got up and asked an older couple also going to Buffalo to keep an eye on my carry on. People from Buff are kind, generous and honest. Sat down at slot and took out 100 from my winnings and played a .25 cent machine with a 5 coin max, which you must always ALWAYS bet to win big! 4 minutes later I cashed out with a $600.00 ticket win. People were gathering around me and I LUV the attention. One night at Harrah's after winning $1199.00 at the newly opened LUXOR, I stopped in high limit area. This was when slot attendants pushed around the heavy coin carts. Met the worker night b4 and he convinced me the higher level slots pay more often so when he saw I came back in that night I asked him where I wanted to play. He said try this slot. A $25.00 RED, WHITE & BLUE 3 REEL SLOT. Omg, what the hell. I just won up the street soooooo, I put 200 in and hit max coin for 50.00 a bet. My friends from Buffalo were shaking. Lol, two spins in a hit a single red bar, a double white bar and a triple blue bar. $2500.00 won. A few large gold coins hit the try and manager took my S. S. card and drivers license to go get my money. I had the coins in my hand and went right next to my winning machine. A DOUBLE DIAMOND machine also 2 coins. After waitress brought our drinks I said, well here goes... on 3rd try w 150. Invested I hit TRIPLE BARS, TRIPLE BARS, DOUBLE DIAMOND. $1250. win turned into $2500. Win. Now I'm going to pass out. 5 GRAND IN 5 MINUTES! People are cheering and when I looked over at slot attendant, he is smiling broadly because he knows I'm going to take care of him and I of course did. Listen people, these folks know what slots are hot and which ones hit most often. P.S. if you go into a casino and dont "FEEL" it, get out and go next door on the strip. I have had extraordinary wins over the years that started when I won a frozen Turkey at Fall Bazaar when I was 7. Thousands at Bingo also with big money in Ft. Erie Ontario Canada 15 min from Buffalo. Now living in Vegas, we have cash balls that reach tens of thousands. A couple I know recently won $182. 000 on a JUMBO game where Station properties are linked with that one game. AMAZING. 🍀🍾🌅🌵
Excellent video! At first when I saw the title, I thought it was going to be another hate/rant video that so many people like to make about Vegas to be edgy, but this had some very good advice! I've been to Vegas 11 times and even though I play MyVegas all the time, I had no idea the Wynn had a similar app. Definitely going to download it. Cheers guys! ~Yours truly, A Vegas Buff!
make sure you check to see if any resort fees will be charged. the internet lists hotels that dont charge but call them directly to ask as they say things change.
Taxis have pre-determined rates now from the airport. most casinos cost you $23 - 27. Uber & Lyft are now like $18 and usually take awhile to wait for. depending on the prices and wait time, I'll take the taxi now.
seems like often when I go there is an IRS convention in town.. I guess that makes sense lol.. was cool Miss Universe was going on when I was at Luxor approx. five of the contestants walked on by me
Be aware that the conventions in town cause rising prices in the hotel/casinos. Also,a LOT more people! Avoid the C.E.S and the N.A.B. There were lines to get into the bathrooms and all of the tables were full! That was downtown.
Biggest mistake I made was booking a pool room view at the Mirage in Oct/Nov back in 2006. I walked in with my wife headed straight to the windows, looked down and saw a guy sweeping the bottom of the pool.
I was dealing with losing my dad a month prior from an auto accident. My wife who I had met the same month and hadn't seen since 8th grade 94/95 wasen't doing that well either so no pool was cool. The Mirage said we could use Treasure Islands anyway. lol
I don’t gamble but still came home with less money because I enjoyed the shopping and eating/drinking! I only gambled $40.00. Be conscious of the resort fees at hotels on the strip. Resort fees really negate savings on room rates.
Thanks for replying you guys are awesome if your ever out in Cali let me know I live an hour from Joshua tree wouldn't mind showing you guys around on a a weekend 😁 and no worries I turn down my AC as low as 65 sometimes it was just really funny ( also hi to both of you!!!! Love your videos )
Taxis in Las Vegas now have a fixed rate from the airport. The rates are 19, 23, and 27 for close, mid strip, and farther. Google search for "las vegas airport fixed rate" for details. Uber and Lyft are generally still cheaper, but the taxis are nice and convenient.
Just want to say that even if you have no interest in gambling, there is SO much to see and do there. I was there for 3 days the last time and, really, you can't even make a dent in it. There is this crazy indoor mall that like goes on and on and on, you don't even know where you are. It's got a sky that changes to dusk over time, "outdoor" cafes on cobblestone streets, a robot mixing drinks, and that's really just one of a billion places to check out.
Stay in the Encore rather than the Wynn if you have a choice. You can't go wrong either way, but the Encore is less busy, and I think the rooms are a little better. $200/night is high. $120/night is easy, but tack on the resort fee.
If you’re looking for quick room comps, I would suggest Downtown Grand; I ran maybe $100 through some machines there and had comp offers in my mailbox 2 weeks later. Also make sure you’re monitoring what you’re putting on plastic. I’ve seen this happen twice at Luxor; people trying to check out, only to be told their credit cards were maxed out. Not sure how they resolved it, as I was headed to the airport early in the AM. If you need soda and water and stuff, find an ABC Shop Downtown or on the Strip. My first trip to Vegas in 5 and a half years is at T minus 17 days. Have a 3 and half page checklist of things to accomplish
Thanks for the tips! Caesars properties are great for fast comps as well! Sign up for Caesars Rewards, put some play on the card, and you should see discounted or free room offers on your online account within a week after your trip.
Tangerine Travels I’m staying at Linq for Night One; will likely split my gaming budget for that night at Bellagio and C-P. The last time I was in Vegas, the land where T-Mobile Arena now sits was being prepared; the Observation Wheel was being tested, and all the new things at New York New York and at Linq were under construction. I’ve been visualizing that first night, when I finally return to one of Earth’s Greatest Places.
My wife and I were determined to “walk” the strip and see every single casino on the strip. No big deal, you can see down the strip, it’s not that far. WRONG !! Casinos are huge and the distances are VERY deceptive. We ruined our feet on the first trip in July, wearing leather shoes. Never again. Tried the bus and hated it. It stops every 300 feet it seemed. And we got long-hauled by “Nellis” taxi co.
Last time that i was in L.V as the locals call it, what i was kid; it made Blackpool in Lancashire U.K. look small in comparison. Also visited the little Ale Inn, near Groom Lake Air Force base; where at night time all the experimental aircraft go out on manoeuvre’s. Thanks for all your advice as it’s much appreciated! ☺️👍👍
When you mentioned desert and drink water....DO NOT BUY WATER from the street vendors ice chests....the bottles are usually pulled out of the trash and refilled with local tap water. Just go into the CVS or AM PM if you are walking on the strip.
When I went to Vegas last time I got hit up to do that Timeshare BS!! Biggest waste of time ever!! Never again! I did get a free show, Free Dinner and a 30.00 Gambling Chip our of it but not worth the time IMO!! Great video you guys!!
Thank you solo much for your video. It's very helpful and informative. Both of you look so kind and gentle. What I did for a mistake was during the day, I went out without a jacket and I was cold when I walked into a casino. The weather seems to be extremely amazed from hot to cold.
Don't forget to come to the Fremont Street Experience and check out a street performer. I will be performing there soon. Nelly will be here on the 15th for a free concert.
My wife and I will be taking our 1st trip to Las Vegas this spring. My wife really likes to gamble me not so much. I am a disabled Veteran and a stay at home Dad my wife works very hard thru the year so if she wants to go to Vegas then Vegas here we come. My sister is taking our kids camping so it will be just us and iam not big on huge crowds of people so we will need to figure that part out. Your video has been very helpful ill be subbing now to find the rest. Thank you
MY advice is to save your money the first day. It sucks being broke the last few days. I've been there. It maybe hard but try to convince your wife to not gamble the first night you arrive. Walk around and see things. You will never see everything the first 5 times your there. You will miss a lot the first time. I don't know where your staying but if Down Town go to the Strip to see the lights and entertainment. Nothing wrong with tipping musicians and enjoying some good music. Ballagio Garden, Caesars Fountain. Don't rush take your time. You will miss things if you do. If your staying on the strip go down town. see the shows. Vegas is designed to take your money. (My strongest advice) is if you don't like gambling try to convince your wife to see some shows to take a break from gambling. My recommendation Tournament of Kings, Carrot Top, and the Mac King magic show. There are hundreds of other shows. Many booths around for discount tickets. (Just ask where to go) For eating I recommend Ellis Island Casino and their Rib Dinner. In Vegas it's all about money management. Take out less than what you think you need for the day. Stick the rest in the Safe. (I've never had any money stolen). You can always go back to the Hotel to get more money and it will save you money by taking a break from gambling. Take the Tram to go up and down the strip. $30 for a few days (prices may have changed) but well worth it. unlimited rides if you purchase the 3 day pass. If your bored go take a ride and see things on your own. If your wife is gambling and your bored. Don't be afraid to leave her and go take a ride on the Tram to see the other Casinos. She will be fine in the Casino. If you Separate and can't get a hold of each other. Make a plan to meet each other at a certain time. Check for Conventions. There is always a convention going on. There maybe something you might be interested in.

Big mistake we made last year was we booked at Venetian but then heard the pool is under construction so I had to rebook at the Hardrock. When we got to Vegas we learned the constuction at Venetian had just completed 2 weeks prior and construction had just started on the pool at Hard Rock!
Unless you are young and in shape, just take a taxi if you want to go to another hotel, even if it is "just across the street". Hotels on the strip are often set back, yet they look like they are very close due to their huge size. Don't be fooled! A hotel "just across the street" could easily mean 8-10 blocks of walking.

I only wear sandals and sneakers whenever I want to go out and ride an ATV.

The resort fees killed my love for Vegas
The BIGGEST mistake in Vegas is staying and gambling on the Strip. Get a hotel room downtown and do all of your gambling in the smaller casinos.
and now many are charging to park too.. next they will charge by the foot to walk
@@vandukeshier8932 Next will be pay toilets or an admission charge to get into the casinos.
Thanks for the great advice!

LMAO LMAO
April, save yourself the trouble and get a fannypack. Less weight and free hands.
Great points, April! Carrying a purse is super uncomfortable and I personally also feel like it’s more of a target for thieves than a backpack.
Staying in vegas for a month???
Wish I saw this 2 weeks ago. Just got back from Vegas, and my shoulder was literally bruised and chaffing from carrying my huge purse around. I did keep a large water bottle in there filled with ice water though. I wasn't about to pay $6 for a 12oz bottle of water on the strip. 😂

"No,we are not married. This is my girlfriends wife". Just let 'em think about that as you make a hasty retreat.

Here's a basic "What NOT to do in LAS VEGAS" that hasn't and should be mentioned: Don't buy the bottled water from street people!
Why not?
I played an one cent slot machine, I bet 60 cents and won $1,000💵
that actually just happened to my wife and I the other day, we were leaving the casino, and decided to drop a 20 in a penny machine, fist spin we won over $900. Cashed out and left!
Just tell a cab driver "shortest trip, biggest tip" usually will get a cabbie to not scam you. Thanks for the Anyride app tip.

Last year, I got light headed and dizzy from waking around. It was dehydration! You totally forget you are in a desert!!!
The information that you offer on your videos helped me greatly on my recent trip to vegas.

@@TangerineTravels I don't think time share is needed anymore when you can rent a nice house anywhere with Air BNB.
Oh, it's got Alexa. So something people used to worry about being in their hotel room (a "bug") is now considered a plus.
Great video... love the "real people" feel to your presentation. Also, you work very well together as a commentators. Keep up the good work!

Thank! Binions also has one but we haven't started playing that app yet.
I agree, that room space is wasted, especially two people, but you can put a ton of sleeping bags or inflatable beds on that floor for extra guests.
Number one tip. Stay the hell away from the Strip. Go to Henderson or Laughlin and enjoy your money more.
make sure you check to see if any resort fees will be charged. the internet lists hotels that dont charge but call them directly to ask as they say things change.
Taxis have pre-determined rates now from the airport. most casinos cost you $23 - 27. Uber & Lyft are now like $18 and usually take awhile to wait for. depending on the prices and wait time, I'll take the taxi now.
It's always nice to visit Vegas when there's cool conventions and shows happening, such as Auto , electronics etc.
I went to Vegas during the Adult Porn convention. I was able to fuck 3 pornstars and it only cost me $300.
seems like often when I go there is an IRS convention in town..
@@TicklerDude I would do $400 for one.
Biggest mistake I made was booking a pool room view at the Mirage in Oct/Nov back in 2006. I walked in with my wife headed straight to the windows, looked down and saw a guy sweeping the bottom of the pool.
Oh nooo! You must have been so sad. That should have come with a warning before booking :/
I was dealing with losing my dad a month prior from an auto accident. My wife who I had met the same month and hadn't seen since 8th grade 94/95 wasen't doing that well either so no pool was cool. The Mirage said we could use Treasure Islands anyway. lol
I hit a royal flush on video poker at the airport while waiting on my flight to leave.
Nice win!
A very rare occurrence. Congratulations
I don’t gamble but still came home with less money because I enjoyed the shopping and eating/drinking!
I only gambled $40.00.
Be conscious of the resort fees at hotels on the strip.
Resort fees really negate savings on room rates.
You set my temp to 76 and I didn't even notice till the end of the day 😂 I was in kitchen getting a snack 😂😂
Owp! 🙊Well, at least we only posted it a few hours ago, so it hasn't been at 76 for too long lol
Lol, we take no responsibility for your electric bill. 😂
btw, the first reply was Maddie and the 2nd was Jordan
@@TangerineTravels :()))
Or do supper shuttle. For round trip its like $16.95 or something. Super cheap
D Shenk what hotel???
@@espressosplanners8161 It's called the Miracle Mile Shops and I think it's part of Planet Hollywood.
I haven't been to Las Vegas since 1995. I'll drive there from Reno, and stay at Motel 6.
I've always taken the shuttle from the airport to the hotel, it's cheaper that a taxi, Uber or Lyft.
and its round trip so you dont have to worry about getting to the airport on your last day
Staying in Old Vegas for Punk Rock Bowling at Plaza. Super excited, thanks for the tips!
Downtown is the best. The Cal and main St. Station, great places for Hawaii locals.
Stay in the Encore rather than the Wynn if you have a choice. You can't go wrong either way, but the Encore is less busy, and I think the rooms are a little better. $200/night is high. $120/night is easy, but tack on the resort fee.
I live in Las Vegas and sometimes pick friends up at the airport. Well sometimes being bored I put a 20 in the machine and bam 1000 bucks thank you
@MM M "Free" lmao!😂😂😂 most expensive drinks in the world probably. A bottle of Jack is $20 and a 30 pack of beer is $19.99
At the store....
@MM M yeah well they're staying at the Wynn they play more than pennies! 😂😂😂
What are the best places to gamble?
@@cheyanne919 I would definitely say any local casinos or downtown. The strip is too tight.
I love the Downtown Grand. That’s the only place we stay!
Hello from "Down under " Thanks for sharing, the last time I was in LV was July 1991, love watching your videos 😍
And we got long-hauled by “Nellis” taxi co.
awesome vids guys love your enthusiasm keep it up :)
Thanks so much for this video, me and my girlfriend are going to vegas in November and this is so helpful!
You guys are awesome, going to Vegas next month you are so much help!
When you mentioned desert and drink water....DO NOT BUY WATER from the street vendors ice chests....the bottles are usually pulled out of the trash and refilled with local tap water. Just go into the CVS or AM PM if you are walking on the strip.
But what I saw were all the same brand and the Caps are sealed shut
Nelly concert for free!!! Thats way to much
I'm coming to vegas the weekend of the 19th.
Nelly free. Fuck he fell off
My wife and I will be taking our 1st trip to Las Vegas this spring.
@@walleye364 wow thank you for the great info we are deciding on New York New York or The Mirage I wanted to stay at Aria or The Wynn but I got over ruled.
@@russellmcdonald6033 Don't forget the Hotels on the strip have "resort fees" Some are pricey add-ons to the rate. $70 a night can be $150 with the mandatory Resort fee.
Very nice couple. I guess their experiences in Vegas are like everyone else's. What to avoid, how much things cost, etc...
Big mistake we made last year was we booked at Venetian but then heard the pool is under construction so I had to rebook at the Hardrock. When we got to Vegas we learned the constuction at Venetian had just completed 2 weeks prior and construction had just started on the pool at Hard Rock!
I live in Vegas and whenever I tell people that, they think I’m at the strip like every week but it’s more like every 2/3 months
I live in Santa Monica California I haven't been to Hollywood Boulevard since 2008 I haven't been to the Santa Monica Pier since 2004 go figure
