Welcome back to Hogwarts guys! What was your most memorable moment on Hogwarts Legacy? Hope you enjoyed this video, been working on it for a few weeks, What game should I revisit next?
broom riding in the world instead apparating and the combat is the best aspect in my opinion, the story is average, voice acting and graphic in general okay. hoping more impactful choices and branching stories and improvement on the existing aspect on the next entry.
i still believe they should’ve went the mmo route or at least made it an option to do mission coop or solo. classes would be cool asf and seeing other ppl flying on brooms
Yes, it is great. I'm just starting the game and just did that. Anyone know if there's a way to see what time of the day it is in the game? some things need done at night
@@lonestarbuckeye6889 if you pause the game there is an option to 'skip to night' or skip to day'. that way you can fast forward time to whatever time or day you need. hope that helps!
One of my main criticism is how Ancient Magic is handled in gameplay, I mean it's just finishers, yeeting objects at enemies & puzzles where you just press a button while standing at the right spot to make something happen. The Keepers promised to teach the player how to wield Ancient Magic properly, but that never happens, the Ancient Magic system never goes beyond what I mentioned before which is disappointing
Just like how some bosses can tank Avada Kadavra, I hated how after transforming enemies into exploding barrels, destroying said barrels with an explosive damage spell does virtually nothing to them, _unless_ you throw them at another enemy to make them explode. Otherwise, they'll just apparate back a second later like nothing happened. It was annoying seeing the red triangles on the mini-map despite the transformed barrels were exploded from a spell. On the flip side, the game has no problem with you permanently transforming chickens or whatnot into galleons.
And even then… what do you mean “ancient magic” is just throwing a chair at someone. 😂🤣Idk maybe like have some kinda of space time warp that hits someone like a blast. idk something that seems more ancient and powerful then throwing a chair at someone 😂
OOF while the game was great, it appears someone never played chamber of secrets, or philosophers stone for specifically PC. Such gems.. the music, the everything. It was my childhood!
I appreciate how positioning Avalanche Software as a studio "way out of their depth" makes for a better story, but the truth is, after the billion dollar franchise that was Disney Infinity, we were actually quite confident in our ability to pull it off. This is because Disney Infinity, (with all its figures and playsets and Toybox and three released versions covering over a dozen different IP's) was similar in size and scope to Hogwarts Legacy. In fact, I contend that THERE WAS NO BETTER STUDIO in all of AAA gaming to make Hogwarts Legacy because Avalanche Software was the studio most experienced with treating IP with care and respect in the entire world. No other studio had worked successfully with so much IP and pleased so many fans in the process. Howarts Legacy was a success BECAUSE of the dedication and experience of the dev team at Avalanche Software, not in spite of it.
I appreciate your insight here, Troy, I hope you know I meant no ill intent! I completely agree I should have weighed the success of Disney Infinity more in my pre-launch analysis, as an outsider I obviously don’t know the ins and outs like yourself. Back then assumed the closure of the studio by Disney would have impacted the development potential, but Hogwarts Legacy proved it didn’t! Thanks for creating something truly special!
This game was one of the most polished games released on console and was amazing your first time playing and still baffles my mind how it wasn't even nominated for a potential GOTY
It's because it came out in 2023, which was one of the best years in gaming so far. Spider Man 2, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur's Gate 3, Horizon Forbidden West, Alan Wake 2, etc. it was just too many GREAT titles to compete with, but yes, Hogwarts Legacy definitely was definitely one of the best of the year
because the game really isn't that great? I almost beat it but couldn't as the game takes a huge nosedive in quality around half way point when the magic wears off. The world is pretty sure, but its empty and filled with side content that amounts to nothing, none of it was well written or did anything past giving xp or gear ( which you likely do not need ), the puzzles are just repeats for the most part and were easy, you didn't feel like you were in a school at all, it felt like your typical generic Ubi style open world game. The acting was all over the place as well. It doesn't do anything that warrants a GOTY
The world was fantastic, the story and the actors not so much - I found the protagonist quite boring after a while. It couldn't have won against something like Baldur's Gate like this.
Building the place and the mechanics must have taken quite a toll. The castle alone. But considering it's already done. They could make a sequel. Use all the assets they already have and just add a bunch of story. Maybe another travel location so they don't have to mess with the map much. And I'd be happy.
I agree entirely with a "actions have consequence's" concept. I am a story game player, and the reason I go back to games like RDR2, BG3, Skyrim, Cyberpunk and the AC franchise is because it was MY story. They made me emotionally invested, to the point that I think about them still today, and will go back and start them over again just to feel the emotional draw. I played Hogwarts Legacy and 100% everything, and never went back to it. It's sat untouched in my Steam Library. People loved Harry Potter, not just because of the magical world and wonder, but because it pulled readers/ watchers in emotionally with the characters and relationships. In Hogwarts Legacy, everyone played the same story and it was pretty surface level; it didn't feel special or unique (outside of it being a wizard/ witch game of course). Not to say I didn't enjoy it, I loved it and saw amazing potential, but I agree with what you mentioned "it didn't have the same wonder on the second playthrough". I hate that I played it once and didn't feel the need or want to pick it back up again. I want to see Avalanche make investments in the story and dig deeper into characters, relationships and decision making to make a unique gameplay. I mean, you have 4 different houses and they all feel the same when playing the story? Just as an example, if you were Slytherin, you could start as a pretty "evil" character and make story decisions to create a redemption arch character by the end of the game. I want joyous highs and gut wrenching lows and difficult dialogue choices. I want to talk to my friends about it, and us all have completely different playthroughs, because we're all different. I want to play it 100 times and discover something new every time. After all, its just as much a simulation game as it is an RPG adventure game.
I remember myself standing in the hall of the castle and just listening to the magic quartet playing Boccerini's Menuet and looking at the surroundings straight for like 15 minutes. And later it happened many times just staring at one specific thing and not believing they it's really in the game
I agree with you. Exploring and getting to know the castle on my first playthrough was magical. Also, thank you for your videos. The countdown to this game's release took forever and watching your updates helped a ton!!
The amount of content in the castle didn't bother me, but the complete lack of anything in the common rooms was disappointing. If a side character was in your house, you should meet them in the CR to start the mission at least. Have a game system like in Red Dead that are in the CRs or any reason to go there. It would be great if they had CR specific missions, so what house you're in matters. This would promote multiple plays.
A tri-wizard cup contest with story weaved in would be awesome DLC oppty. Would make sense that you're character competes in it because they are old enough, can bring about more unique characters from other regions of world. Have a wide variety of challenges to pick from and make it replayable so each run you get 4 new challenges and puzzles to solve. So many ways they could make that an awesome DLC or huge part of next game
Ive been saying this since Legacy came out, its also nice that on the next game youll be a 6th year able to compete in the games. Such a massive opportunity to have a “secret” tri-wizard tournament off the books so that it doesnt wreck the lore.
My favorite memory of my first playthrough is when I was already done with Sebs storyline, I used the killing curse to kill 5 enemies at once and my character, with a smug, said something like "Wait until Sebastian hears about this"
For me I like the small little details you just stumble on walking around the world like the stained glass windows that change colour with the seasons, the little girl playing hopscotch by creating the squares a she plays or the guy selling a Niffler at the train station. I'm still finding new things that I've not seen before.
What shocked me I'm a 2nd playthrough was that my feelings towards Sebastians actions were the compete opposite of the first time. First one, I felt like he is completely justified and that I would kill that Solomon myself if I knew the spell. But the second time... I couldn't sympathize with Sebastian at all. I somehow started seeing the story from uncle's perspective and couldn't help but see the wrongs behind Sebastian's reasoning
Same. Even in the first play through I thought “well he might be going about it the wrong way, but Sebastian has a point” On my second play through I just think he’s whiny and doesn’t really understand what’s going on.
It's because you knew that he would fail to cure his sister. The first time playing, you are holding out hope for Sebastian to find a cure, and that if he did, it would be an "ends justify the means" situation. But now since you _know_ he will fail, you also know that he killed his uncle for nothing.
I've seen a defence for Sebastian's actions as a lack of guidance and understanding from his uncle pushing Sebastian as far as he goes. From the moment we are introduced to Solomon it's clear that they're going for each other's throats at how hostile they are with each other. Solomon yells at Sebastian and forbids his actions as 'pointless' and refuses to let him even try making Sebastian more determined and every interaction between the two ends in yelling with neither able to talk to the other, it was inevitable that one was going to wind up dead. Given that we learn that Rookwood was responsible for Anne's curse that does open up a new option for Anne to be cured as previously it was believed that a Goblin cursed Anne. This means the kind of magic that cursed Anne was completely different from what the Healers expected and thus they were searching down the wrong path, looking for answers in the wrong place entirely. Meaning Anne's curse could be cured with proper research into Rookwood's belongings. Here's a video supporting Sebastian by Sam Bram. ua-cam.com/video/m9udbs4ejzI/v-deo.html
@@Justin.Franks Interesting I never trusted him. From nearly the beginning I felt something was off about him with his "I like my friends in my debt" and it just got worse the more I played as over and over again he manipulates and lies to people for their own good. Teaching you confringo seems fine but he never asks Ominous if he's ok with Sebastian bringing a new person to a place that has great emotional value to him which he showed Sebastian and his sister. When he wants you to get Ominous to take you into Salazar's personal chambers he drops a hint about Ominous's tortured past. Well and good except if you then say "Ok I respect his privacy don't tell me more" he goes on about how he'd never let it drop and its odd you aren't asking for more information. Then with Crucio he's not sure he can cast it but Imperio he's absolutely certain it will work. Why? Why is he so sure he can cast Imperio successfully but not crucio? His choice of that spell to stop the goblin then the smile as he forces them to kill themselves before getting upset at being forbidden to go to his sister and his home. His fury at you when you don't do what he wants then his sudden personality shift if you take the choice to say maybe you should do it alone. HIs constant subtle put downs. Even the whole final confrontation when he brings you along I'm just thinking why am I here? His sister sure but what is the reason to bring me (and not Ominous). Sure it might be entirely legitimate but the dark artifact does require a sacrifice to use its power, perhaps thats meant to be me. At the end I turn him in not because I feel "You did illegal magic and must be punished" but because I just can't make myself trust him. Yes he seems remorseful but by that stage he's shown himself to be quite willing to lie even to his oldest "friend" for "their own good" and be fairly good at it. If I could believe his remorse I might have kept quiet but well I'm just thinking of how many times he made Ominous thiink he was going to stop before this.
I think that's another point they missed hard, they should've let you decide on going to the dark arts with him, or help him with your ancient magic and cure her sister, and so, also saving him from going bad. In another point, I hated sebastian from the star, more so when we know Solomon was an auror, who is to say he didn't try everything he could, and so, also ended up going into the dark arts, and that's how he lost his job as an auror, and with that, he knew that turning to the dark art wouldn't help at all, and that's why he was so hard on him. Would love to see a story like that, but definitely, what I hated the most, is that they never gave us the chance to cure her, which is horrible.
I think at least part of the reason why you can't fly into Hogsmeade might have to do with the Switch port. On the Switch port, Hogsmeade isn't loaded in with the rest of the open world, you actually have to go through a loading screen to enter & exit Hogsmeade due to Hogsmeade being loaded as a separate world space on the Switch port, hence the magic barrier. And I think to keep each version identical on what the player can & can't do, they added the anti-flight barrier over Hogsmeade for every version
That makes sense! Hogsmeade is beautifully recreated and well populated, so if not being able to fly above it means retaining that quality is worthy sacrifice.
Let's not forget that Hogsmeade was a separate instance in the PC and console version, as well. Just entering it was made seamless but it is there 100%
looking back at it, this is one of the best games ever made. all the mechanics were perfect!!! things were fun to do, they were pleasant, the moods were good, the music, the settings when you ran into bandits, you knew "watch it, shits about to go down" and you did the invisible spell!
8:40 The different houses give slightly different missions when dealing with Jack. However, Hufflepuff is the biggest difference because you get to go to Azkaban!!
One thing I think could have made the game more unique was if you could have chosen the characters blood status as muggle born, half blood or pure blood and have situations where their background shows I also think that after the house cup it should have down like a next day thing where all the students are on Hogwarts express with the main character sitting with Poppy, natty and Sebastian in a compartment or if Sebastian was turned in have Ominis fill in Sebastian’s role
Man I really want them make an MMO and you can carry forward your level to the next one. Fighting monsters together and doing story would be fun with friends.
If they just took Hogwarts castle, and its grounds, and put it in its own game that was centered around being an actual school simulator? They'd make BANK.
I also think that we should be able to have choices about our back story and whatever you pick is “canon” like it gets talked about in conversations and such. But also having an option to say you don’t want to talk about it. (Ex: blood status, passed parents)
I loved this game for about 20 hours. But then it all felt a bit samey and i got bored. The main character and mysteries were not engaging enough. Still, it was a good game, and someone more addicted to HP might have found it exciting beyond midpoint.
Absolutely loved the game... The only thing that was a bit dissapointing for me was that the classes were nothing more than a mission to get new spells and abilities, and when you got said ability the classes were not available anymore. Hoped they would implement a system like Rockstars Bully were the time of day dictates if and which classes you had and be manditory. And if you weren't in class you had to dodge prefects that would sent you to class if caught. Maybe in Hogwarts part 2.
Any part of the map beyond the caves I didn't really touch. We get the graphorn way too late, it would have made more sense to get access to it before flying on brooms or beasts (not much point in riding a creature when you can fly one). Other than that, loved the game!
If we truly are getting a directors cut for the game, I hope we can learn many more spells. What I missed from a previous experience with the 2nd and 3rd year games made on Playstation 2 was finding spells randomly in a sense, like maybe a secret passage in the library that leads you to a book teaching Scourify. I hope they also improve the game by time skipping us (maybe we can take a job at Hogwarts similiar to Isodora's path) and we can still come and go as needed? There are also some unfinished story points as Sebastian's for example seems unfinished and what about Isodora's status for ancient magic? She knew how the keepers thought, one portrait being destroyed, in her home and the one at Hogwarts where i'm sure one of the keepers taught her where the Undercroft was for her other portrait...she would have another somewhere I imagine. Ancient magic seems still as much of a mystery as it did in the beginning of the game, and aside from combat, what can we do with it? Are there consequences for your choice in the end of the game? The Directors Cut could help polish this experience as the world feels emptier the more side quests you do. If they timeskipped us to adults, maybe expanded us to other locations such as London as the Ministry seems rather absent this story with only mere talk of them at times being present. Goblin treatment seems unresolved, we are oppressing them still. We can also have a morality system in the game as an adult, making combat choices more limited for the darker wizards out there, unless they want Ministry officials or demeantors coming after them. A way to escape Azkaban would be a tricker part to this equation. We should as new professors gain access to all the common rooms too, and maybe Ominus eventually teaches us parseltongue and we open the Chamber of Secrets. We can also still evolve our shop, do everything as we could have as the fifth year student. We should also have the ability to fully unlock every talent. New Spell Options? : Expecto Patronium - With a quiz to determine your patronus. The maxima version could be part of the talent menu. Aguamenti Maxima - It would be used mainly for combat. Stuplify - Maybe you take on a job at the Ministry and they teach you Stuplify to round up criminals to be sent to Azkaban? You could be an auror in a sense, and misbehave with dark magic may not land you in a cell as you only have access to combating dark wizards not other professors or anyone like that will have demeantors hunting you to stand trial? It doesn't have to be complicated. Rictasempra - Aside from Expelliarmus, the tripping jinx could be quite useful in disarming someone temporarily. Really I would say the game could use a ton of spells as we never had the experience of being an adult in the wizarding world with such the consequences of being a dark wizard. Maybe you are given a ciriculum to teach for your students and you are "reminded" of the spell or taught it? Maybe your classroom becomes like the Room of Requirements and you can decorate it, set it up with a dummy for demonstrations? There are so many options you can use to expand this series. My favorite part is collecting spells and although the spell belt can be dauntingly annoying to shift between, it is very fun placing new spells in different places. Maybe an NPC is a new buddy for you and intercepts you before you are carted by the Ministry and you pay them back? I hope Natti heals, maybe Sebastian becomes the new Voldemort, and Poppy becomes the new creature professor? Maybe Almet also becomes a professor? Maybe you are appointed as headmaster at some point as Professor Black is horrible at the job? I also hope more character surnames appear from the books, as the new ones are alright but you mean to tell me there weren't any Malfoys? There weren't any Snapes? Did a Great Migration happen after we went to Hogwarts or something? I just hope we get lots of new spells, truly become a part of this world rather than using it as our combative playground, which even though I am in Ravenclaw, mainly utilize the Cruciatus curse. Thank you Avalanche for making a wonderful game. OH ANOTHER IDEA, maybe runecrafts to make spells? This could be really fun and a few combinations to create spells of your own for the game that don't necessarily rely on lore, such as Levicorpas? Indicastrus? They are Latin-based. Maybe use our shop to do tarot or crystal readings for spare coin?
I hope that they keep things the way they were with the first one. They were so successful because of the controversy surrounding it and the fact that they didn't bow down to the demands being made of them. If they do give in to those demands on the second game it is going to flop hard People badly want to support gaming companies that are producing good games that people want not new ideologically driven garbage that nobody asked for shove down our throats
Sure the game was lacking in some departments but all things considered it's actually a really good game. I'd give it an honest 8/10, and that's a higher score than most AAA games of the same decade. Imagine what they could do with a higher budget, and more creative time. Some slightly better optimization, maybe a bit more content in and out of the classroom, some more things to do with your school friends etc.
The State of Play was a MASTERCLASS in advertising and hype. From narration, to music choice, to selective gameplay, to AVADA KEDAVRA reveal at the very end, it was beyond epic.
To your question about using the forbidden curses.. THE DEVS promised we would have morally chart/counting that could effect the game play, that was taken away are so much more, if you look into coding its still there. Its so sad
i think they should make a harry pottor game where we can play as harry ron or hermione and we do all the quests in the books can free roam hogwarts london and stuff and you fight voldemort but you can make harry use unforgivable curses and turn him evil as well as ron and hermione
I do fully believe the delays were about making sure they game was fully polished and actually good. They didn't want to screw it up and literally *any* fixable flaw they could find, and detail they could add, they decided to take it. As much as I would have liked to play it 2 or 3 years earlier, it would NOT have been the same. It would have been less than. So I appreciate them wanting to get it right. Imagine if they waited and waited and then... failed.... *Cough Game of Thrones, Cough*
I’ve watched the films countless of times to learn english, and playing this game for the first time I was mind blown literally played this for 4 days straight lmao
The game lacks enemy variety. The Fantastic Beasts book has a lot of creatures and they could have been incorporated. I hate the repeated knight suit fights and how they handled the ancient magic overall. These are my main complains. Other than these, I loved the game. It's pretty darn magical.
They put a lot of effort into building a framework that would hopefully carry over into a new game where the focus can go to bolstering everything else.
I certainly enjoyed this game when I played it. was a lot of fun to play a good guy Dark Wizard in the late game. Annihilating Goblins and Trolls with single spells and spreading torture Curses among the survivors as they have pain induced strokes. why yes, I do believe that War Crimes are something you can use to War Criminals. thank you very much (joking)
I was deeply saddened that the magic trees were not inclusive of maybe another 2 dozen spells that really forced you into a specialization - that way replay-ability was increased. Oh well. If they do a sequel I’m sure it’ll be fun.
I loved it a lot, i just wished they included a lot more school stuff, would love a Hogwarts game to just go through Year 1-5 learning magic with some side stuff happening during holidays to keep things interesting
I wish I could play this game again for the first time! It certainly isn't perfect, especially regarding the storyline and how things played out in that regard. But they did a great job capturing the magic of the Hogwarts castle and that area and I loved the depth to which you could explore.
This is the first game I have ever bought for myself. I absolutely love it!!! I am not a gamer, so I appreciated the different levels of play they provided. I played on easy because I didn’t even know the buttons on the controller. I did not want to play in story mode as I wanted to complete tasks and actually play the game. I know it took me longer to finish the game than most, but I did complete the story on my own!! Eventually I want to play it again as a different character in a different house. I would definitely buy a sequel!!
Ive played through this game probably close to around 10 times fully through and im still discovering new stuff. ik im a nerd about it but i think thats pretty cool that i can play like 500 hrs of this game and still find new scripted scenes in different places of the world. story wise it is dry tho
I love this game, getting to explore a world I grew up reading and watching movies about in such detail is amazing, especially as my own character and in my favorite house. But, there are some downsides, there's really not an easy way to keep track of thing you find in menus, especially if you are trying to get trophies (especially the cast the ancient magic finisher on every single enemy (not including bosses) trophy) there is no way to determine who you casted it on. So if you are down to 1 enemy remaining, you have to go through all 68 of them to find the one you need, the sequel needs a better system in place. Another downside is the fact that not every icon shows up on the map unless you are really close to it and revelio it to death.
Thank the ancient gods this awesome game doesn't have any DLC. We need more complete games out of the box like this one. Why the heck people got used to updates? It's much better to wait for a full sequel than a bunch of small new content over the years for a closed history game like Hogwarts Legacy. If it was Wizarding World Online, things would be different.
I'm a PC gamer myself, but $20 for this game is a steal so criminal it should be illegal lol. Buy it immediately! You won't regret it lol. Such an amazing game!
Don't confuse a gameplay mechanic with the in-universe lore. He doesn't survive the killing curse. You're playing a video game, when his health gets to zero it then goes to the wand clash. The killing curse did exactly that, brought his health to zero. Smh jeez lol
I wish in the next game (if planning) they would focus more on interactive simulator mechanics. I didn't really feel like a student in Hogwarts, but more like a generic RPG character doing generic delivery/fighting quests. I wish to really experience Hogwarts' student routine.
Legacy is the first time I'm playing an RPG by myself and actually playing it not running around like I did playing Elders scrolls I'm still playing legacy on my switch almost a year of release I haven't defended the game yet but I will im addicted to the game one of my favorite games on switch.
In the sequel I would love to see the story line of James and Lily Potter as students with Snape. How Dumbledore became Headmaster, how all the teachers came to be, like McGonagall, Flitwick, Trelawney, Hagrid etc. and have the story run with the beginnings of Tom Riddle turning into Voldemort , the formation of the Death Eaters, and the ending of the game being the birth of Harry Potter himself with the ending as The Philosopher's Stone started with Dumbledore and McGonagall placing Harry on the Dursley's doorstep ! I think it would tie in beautifully with the games and the movies !
I've tried to replay it several times... After my first play through, I had wanted to play through every single house 😅 The lack of discovery makes so much sense as to why no play through has gripped me like the first one. I was addicted to the game the first time around. All I did was eat, sleep, hogwarts legacy until I finished the game 😅
Not a fan of Harry Potter at all but I actually loved this game, it was just a chill game to 100% and it felt good to play. Everything from running/flying around to the combat just felt right…there’s definitely room for improvement in some areas but overall it’s great.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 should actually have Quidditch added this time instead of an entirely separate game being made for that purpose dumb idea on Warner Bros part in my opinion btw and Hogwarts legacy 2 should actually get story dlc unlike the first game again dumb idea on Warner Bros part
I don't wish for quidditch at all. I think it's good idea for it being desperate game for those who want it. I found flying in this game hard af and I didn't enjoy it racing with imelda - I couldn't pass these. I would enjoy the game much less if quidditch was part of it, personally.
Sorry you think adding quidditch would be a bad thing for you if they do make a second edition then they're probably going to not fix but we do the flying machine the flying system so actually playing quidditch would be more likely or more fun but have a good day
@@sky0kast0 I can see them not adding it. I get a lot of people want that but the fact is adding it was either going to dissapoint people or require essentially adding a second game to be programmed and built. Are you just going to be a seeker or do you give players the option of playing seeker, beater, chaser and keeper positions. Coding in AI for four different houses, that can play in three dimensions and adjust to the player chosing different positions. It can be done but it would have been a lot of work.
If the did make a remake persona lite elements would definitely benefit the gameplay loop, magical friends are only magical if they feel like your friends!
Not sure what you're talking about the castle is the worst part of the game. And they know that since none of the action happens there. As soon as you can move they advise you to leave the castle and mess around in the world. Compare the castle here with the castle in Order of the Phoenix and you'll see why Legacy's castle is just dead eye candy. I'm not even gonna compare it to the first 3 HP games since that would just be unfair, as those games relied solely on the castle to make the world interesting and believable.
it would be nice if this game become online multiplayer, something like GTA online, and people can party together to defeat bosses, clear dungeons, catch limited time beast, play Quidditch, learn rare spells, defeat dark wizards, explore portals, get rare wands, dresses, brooms, potions etc. and players need to select main job and other can be side jobs, they will get extra upgrade points for the main job.
The first thing I did once I got to Hogwarts castle was explore the castle. I was just amazed with all the detail. It was hours before I actually got to the classes 😂
This is one of only two games I've ever finished at 100%. I had a great time with it, but trying to play it again now, picking Hufflepuff so I can do the "secret" Azkaban quest, isn't very fun. The sense of wonder and exploration is gone since I literally did everything before. Great game nonetheless.
100% shouldve just been the castle/lake area right next to it/quidditch pitch etc, Hogsmeade and Forbidden forest. I had no connection to teh rando spots all over the map. I had more fun on my 2nd playthrough creating my own Sebastian Sallow that looks exactly like him than actually playing the story I do REALLY like the room of requirement, but it feels too easy to do everything.
Welcome back to Hogwarts guys! What was your most memorable moment on Hogwarts Legacy? Hope you enjoyed this video, been working on it for a few weeks, What game should I revisit next?
@Hk219Hk
Maybe Skyrim or Witcher 3
broom riding in the world instead apparating and the combat is the best aspect in my opinion, the story is average, voice acting and graphic in general okay. hoping more impactful choices and branching stories and improvement on the existing aspect on the next entry.
They…. Did…. What tho??
I definitely wanted more school Sim elements. Classes, curfew, detention, random school events or clubs. Stuff like that
Exactly most of the game takes place outside of Hogwarts
yeah I agree
i still believe they should’ve went the mmo route or at least made it an option to do mission coop or solo. classes would be cool asf and seeing other ppl flying on brooms
YESS!! I wanted it to be like the game “Bully” but Hogwarts themed.
No. Sounds good but wouldn't be fun to play.
The first time you ride a broom around the castle grounds… I still remember the chills
real shit

Yes, it is great. I'm just starting the game and just did that.
Anyone know if there's a way to see what time of the day it is in the game? some things need done at night

15:24 IMO the best part of this game is the music. It really sets the tone everywhere you go. Perfectly placed.
They really do an incredible job of pacing the music, and the transitions are "chefs kiss"
I was hoping there would be nods to Jeremy Soule.
@@fieryphoenix586seriously, some of the music sounds straight out of Oblivion. It’s fantastic.
I have literally turned the game on just to have the music playing in the background. 😂❤
Its good but very repetitive at times
One of my main criticism is how Ancient Magic is handled in gameplay, I mean it's just finishers, yeeting objects at enemies & puzzles where you just press a button while standing at the right spot to make something happen. The Keepers promised to teach the player how to wield Ancient Magic properly, but that never happens, the Ancient Magic system never goes beyond what I mentioned before which is disappointing
Well said!
@@WesNemo Hell, the final boss is immune to Ancient Magic, and it's supposed to be the main gimmick!
Yeah “ancient magic,” is a device to move the plot along. Not a player mechanic
This game is by far the best Harry Potter game ever made...
OOF while the game was great, it appears someone never played chamber of secrets, or philosophers stone for specifically PC.
Such gems.. the music, the everything. It was my childhood!

I got the game around 2 months back, ngl one of the best and most fun games I've ever played
Saammmeee!!!
Same! Currently on my second play through and loving it as much as the first go around!
Same here
Playing through now!!! I just finished the 2nd trial.
Please, lets be honest. J.K. been related in an shape way or form.is a great factor.
It was the woke cult that killed its chances…
Thanks so much for the kind words, I really hope Avalanche can strike lightning in a bottle a second time
The amount of content in the castle didn't bother me, but the complete lack of anything in the common rooms was disappointing.
I would like a feature to toggle the lock picking spell on/off…I get tired of having to do the puzzle everytime to unlock something.
My favorite memory of my first playthrough is when I was already done with Sebs storyline, I used the killing curse to kill 5 enemies at once and my character, with a smug, said something like "Wait until Sebastian hears about this"
Bro said… we waited as long as Sirius did in Azkaban…. I couldn’t go any further 😂
“I DID MY WAITING…. TWELVE YEARS OF IT!”
Its such a crazy timeline LOL we actually waiting 12 years before Hogwarts Legacy
@@BadNoodle13 IN AZKAbaann!!! 🤣
@@WesNemotwelve long years...
It also happens to be the amount of time we’ve been waiting for gta 6

I really hope they add a moral system like in star wars kotor in the sequel or director's cut of Hogwarts Legacy
Just entering it was made seamless but it is there 100%
looking back at it, this is one of the best games ever made. all the mechanics were perfect!!!
things were fun to do, they were pleasant, the moods were good, the music, the settings
when you ran into bandits, you knew "watch it, shits about to go down" and you did the invisible spell!
8:40 The different houses give slightly different missions when dealing with Jack. However, Hufflepuff is the biggest difference because you get to go to Azkaban!!
One thing I think could have made the game more unique was if you could have chosen the characters blood status as muggle born, half blood or pure blood and have situations where their background shows
I also think that after the house cup it should have down like a next day thing where all the students are on Hogwarts express with the main character sitting with Poppy, natty and Sebastian in a compartment or if Sebastian was turned in have Ominis fill in Sebastian’s role
(Ex: blood status, passed parents)
avalance specifically stated this game is NOT CANON
@@houseofaction bro I know.
I loved this game for about 20 hours. But then it all felt a bit samey and i got bored. The main character and mysteries were not engaging enough.
Still, it was a good game, and someone more addicted to HP might have found it exciting beyond midpoint.
My fav moment was fighting the troll in Hogsmeade just so immersive
It would be amazing to see more games done at different Wizarding Schools.
The disrespect to Avalanche in the beginning is wild
Expecto Patronium - With a quiz to determine your patronus.
If they do give in to those demands on the second game it is going to flop hard
People badly want to support gaming companies that are producing good games that people want not new ideologically driven garbage that nobody asked for shove down our throats
I still play it to this day I love the combat and the magic system it could definitely be more fleshed out but still it is a amazing game!
i want a second Hogwarts Legacy SO bad! They should take as much time as they need, as long as they do it!
To your question about using the forbidden curses..
THE DEVS promised we would have morally chart/counting that could effect the game play, that was taken away are so much more, if you look into coding its still there. Its so sad
That was an unfortunate omission. I think it definitely came down to the time constraints and budget.
i think they should make a harry pottor game where we can play as harry ron or hermione and we do all the quests in the books can free roam hogwarts london and stuff and you fight voldemort but you can make harry use unforgivable curses and turn him evil as well as ron and hermione
I would love to see more magical schools in this game and have the tri-wizard tournament. That would be super fun.
Cannot wait for the sequel of this video game
Of course I gave Sebastian what he deserved! I certainly wasn't using any unforgivable curses. Not on my Ravenclaw play through anyway... 😁
I’ve watched the films countless of times to learn english, and playing this game for the first time I was mind blown literally played this for 4 days straight lmao
We need a 2nd game ASAP! NO LIVE SERVICE SHIT EITHER!
I wish they put a multiplayer mode in because it was of been really cool to explore and do missions with my friends
I wouldn't mind quidditch as a mini-game, and quidditch cup among homes. Just as in books.
Just bought game on XBOX, then the next day saw youtube r playing it in VR.... Might have to buy it twice.
I loved it a lot, i just wished they included a lot more school stuff, would love a Hogwarts game to just go through Year 1-5 learning magic with some side stuff happening during holidays to keep things interesting
I loved playing through this game, it's basically all i ever wanted from the franchise,
I wish I could play this game again for the first time!
I bought it on sale last Sunday and i LOVE it! I'm an OSRS grinder so this was a fun game. really enjoyed it!
The thing I want
the most that I think that would impact this game and make it even more awesome is first person view and VR
I don’t even care about Harry Potter like that but this game is some goooooooooood game
Ive played through this game probably close to around 10 times fully through and im still discovering new stuff. ik im a nerd about it but i think thats pretty cool that i can play like 500 hrs of this game and still find new scripted scenes in different places of the world. story wise it is dry tho
I've watched this video 8 times because I love the game and WesNemo so much
You my goat
Got it about a week ago and haven’t been able to put it down. Phenomenal game
I'll be honest the game was not everything we wanted but it was a great attempt and I believe a sequel to it can be amazing
It’s $20 right now on the ps5 store and debating if I should buy it 😂
You crazy, buy immediately. Amazing game.
I'm a PC gamer myself, but $20 for this game is a steal so criminal it should be illegal lol. Buy it immediately! You won't regret it lol. Such an amazing game!
Don’t go out to eat a couple times and save $20 for this game. Worth it
I wish I would’ve waited for it to be $20. I preordered and regretted it. It’s definitely worth $20 tho
Don't confuse a gameplay mechanic with the in-universe lore. He doesn't survive the killing curse. You're playing a video game, when his health gets to zero it then goes to the wand clash. The killing curse did exactly that, brought his health to zero. Smh jeez lol
I bought it for 20$ it’s cheap go buy it now.
I wish in the next game (if planning) they would focus more on interactive simulator mechanics. I didn't really feel like a student in Hogwarts, but more like a generic RPG character doing generic delivery/fighting quests. I wish to really experience Hogwarts' student routine.
18:15 i was missing that collectable. thank you :D
After my first play through, I had wanted to play through every single house 😅
The lack of discovery makes so much sense as to why no play through has gripped me like the first one.
Yeah I think them releasing quidditch champions makes sense why they wouldn't have quidditch in this game, but going forward I agree
I don't wish for quidditch at all. I think it's good idea for it being desperate game for those who want it. I found flying in this game hard af and I didn't enjoy it racing with imelda - I couldn't pass these. I would enjoy the game much less if quidditch was part of it, personally.
Sorry you think adding quidditch would be a bad thing for you if they do make a second edition then they're probably going to not fix but we do the flying machine the flying system so actually playing quidditch would be more likely or more fun but have a good day
Pretty sure Warner Bros are selling the rights to someone else...
My second play through, I played it on HARD difficulty and it was extremely enjoyable
this video is hitting me in the feels! such a great moment in gaming! W video
POG Ty king of piplups
If the did make a remake persona lite elements would definitely benefit the gameplay loop, magical friends are only magical if they feel like your friends!
Honestly this is one of my favorite games next to days gone, I hope they make another game or sequel
Hogwarts Legacy 2? I thought the team had explicitly said there will be no sequels?
Honestly I liked this game I never finished it because I was having to much fun exploring and doing side quest
Each house is his own mission it is only one though
I wish they give us more DLC before they make the sequel
it would be nice if this game become online multiplayer, something like GTA online, and people can party together to defeat bosses, clear dungeons, catch limited time beast, play Quidditch, learn rare spells, defeat dark wizards, explore portals, get rare wands, dresses, brooms, potions etc. and players need to select main job and other can be side jobs, they will get extra upgrade points for the main job.
I recently started playing this and I’m really enjoying it. Such a fun game!
The first thing I did once I got to Hogwarts castle was explore the castle. I was just amazed with all the detail. It was hours before I actually got to the classes 😂
I want to be able to turn into an animal.
I wanted to sit in the chairs and drink my tea
I haven't played it yet. I wanted to know whether it was worth buying. It's on sale on steam for $26.
11:25 i used it on him and he lost all of his health maybe yoyr game was buged ir somthing cuz it works 100%
100% shouldve just been the castle/lake area right next to it/quidditch pitch etc, Hogsmeade and Forbidden forest. I had no connection to teh rando spots all over the map. I had more fun on my 2nd playthrough creating my own Sebastian Sallow that looks exactly like him than actually playing the story
I do REALLY like the room of requirement, but it feels too easy to do everything.
I LOVED this game. Until crafting endlessly became necessary….. such an annoying grind. Crafting and manufacturing should be optional.
If I’m not mistaken rage 1 and 2 was made by avalanche too
School, college/career, several ways of finishing the main story with the choices you made
Harry Potter Kinect is my favorite game of all time, of all time.
