Sincerely, is what you want just a 2 hour version of the game, just with no choice? Just "The definitive version"?
The director is youtuber PonySmasher, and I'll reserve judgement until it's released, but sincerely. This looks like a great way to take the elements that only make sense in an interactive medium, and tell a story that is reflective and considerate of that experience. I'd much rather that than a 1:1 recreation of just... one variation the story can go
    You literally spelled it out
    - Group of kids trapped in a ski lodge
    - forced into dangerous situation due to ... (In your case, the spoiled end of game. I don't know if it'll be 1:1, it'd be extremely predictable if the twist is just a rehash of the one we all know)
    - only for the characters to learn there is something worse on the mountain with them,
    - and have to find a way to escape
The trailer suggests that everyone of these things will be true. Just with the same knowledge that we the players have: That you can try again. Because while the original game is not a literal loop, by nature of playing the game, if you fail in your playthrough, you can try the story again. You are actively encouraged to get the "Best" ending where you save everyone.
It's bridging the player experience that is exclusive to the game, and weaving that integrally into the story. If the hope was just a 1:1 recreation with the same actors, same twists, and same narrative... I have great news that is already out. It's just a playthrough on youtube

I hate that the wendigos look like it’s just somebody in make up. They shouldn’t been CGI.

You can not judge a movie by its trailer

In this case, you clearly can. The movie is very clearly a generic horror movie with no connection to the game.

Luckily, there is an easy solution to this issue. Just play the game.
Movies aren't always going to be accurate, mainly because you can't fit a seven hour long game into a two hour movie (at best) and expect it to be better than the source material. What can be done is exploring new ideas inside of the IP so that the movie actually delivers something different from the game. Wether or not the movie ends up being good or bad is a different point, one that actually needs you to watch the movie first and has nothing to do with source accuracy. Until Dawn has things that make it great, and maybe, the movie is also great for different reasons (or not). I was never interested on Until Dawn, but the idea of repeating the night over and over again in order to fit multiple endings or deaths has actually striked me as a clever solution and managed to get me interested in the movie. I might even play the game at some point.

After so many awful live action adaptations (Borderlands, Fallout, Uncharted, Hitman, Max Payne), I'm not disappointed or surprised to see this looks no different. I had zero faith in it being good and it looks like it will be just another pathetic attempt to cash in on video games by film and tv companies with no original ideas of their own.

the issue is the movie looks okay, but it's not Until Dawn. nobody's gonna support your project when you're slapping game title for cash grab.

I never played Until Dawn (I’m scared of horror games) so I watched the entire gameplay with all endings and choices on UA-cam. The game already feels like a movie there’s really no point in making a movie of it other than being a cash grab for a popular IP. After a lot of other games being made into movies and turning out bad I don’t have a lot of hope for the movie.

Honestly it looks like nothing from the Until Dawn game... the big thrill and selling point of the game was being up at a ski lodge ON A MOUNTAIN completely isolated from everyone.... having barely any electricity or light.... with like blizzard conditions...
And now it takes place in the house? Meeeeeeehhhhhhh the atmosphere in the movie looks completely lame... I didn't even see if they had the right characters?
I could be wrong but I hate to tell you guys....I think they butchered our game and that is sad lol...
I'll have to check out more of your content sir...

I am glad you only made a 2.13min video considering you said nothing.. you have one point; " having nothing in common" and then end the video by not elaborating what that mean..?
you cant even name anything to back up your own point of view?
this is how you come across:
"these two things only share a name, and I like the one thing but not the other based on a promo . now cut to black so I don't have to explain myself any further"
    Wow, good job. So insightful.

Isn’t that the whole point of the video ? The game and this movie have nothing in common once u explain the movie and the game u can obviously tell they aren’t the same thing at all and the movie shouldn’t exist

You know you are a massive failure as a movie director when you can't take one of the most movie like games ever and turn it into an actual film.
