So much talent in this band. The name LoveBites is reportedly taken from the Halestorm song 'Love Bites' that singer Asami sang at her audition. She does sing in English only, as far as I know. Midori and Myako bring the double guitar solos in nearly every song. Fami on bass is their newest and youngest member, at 21 years old, and this was one of her first live performances with them, so she was really happy to be there. Haruna on the drums is called the Little Big Engine, for her tireless precision on song after song. My first LoveBites song was 'Holy War' (live at Zepp Divercity Tokyo 2020), and I fell in love with them instantly. I'd also recommend 'Swan Song', which includes a Chopin intro on grand piano. (I do still hope we get some more Nemophila on the channel)

They play a modernized version of older (80s) styles of metal, think Maiden, Priest, thrash like early Metallica, a bit of hard rock. That was before growling was a thing. Their other side is modern power metal, also no growling there... Not all metal has growling.

Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and exceptional versatile musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. About a month ago they finished their tour in Asia, Europe and, for the very first time, in the USA. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in a little more than seven years. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. My next recommendations are “Judgement day”, “Set the world on fire” (live) or, for a softer style “Liar”, “Empty daydream” (live)

Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack 🐺 Lovebites fans around the world, will be along to give you information and recommendations. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. Then Lovebites is the best choice you could have made because Miyako and Midori known as M&M are the best guitar duo nowadays, they complement each other so well and their harmonies are perfect. Not to take anything away about the other bandmembers because they're all top notch. Lovebies blends all kinds of metal and also play some powerballads too and while their music is highly technical, it's also melodic with great songwriting. Just go down this rabbithole, you'll love it!
This was pretty special because it was the opening song with the new bass player Fami. Throughout the concert it was as much a welcome for her into the band from the fans as it was a comeback concert for them all after a bit of a hiatus. Its a fabulous concert.

no 7-string guitars here. Lovebites play "normal" 6-string guitars. the only extended range instrument here is the 5-string bass and that only happened when Fami joined as the new bassist. Their previous bassist (and founder) Miho played their stuff on a "standard" 4-string bass. Not sure if any of the new stuff specifically requires a 5-string or if it's just a matter of Fami's preference.

Neither of them are seven-string guitars. Midori, the blonde with the hair you like, plays an ESP E-II Horizon. Miyako, the brunette guitarist, plays a Dean USA Icon. I've never seen Midori play a seven-string guitar, and the only time I recall seeing her play a seven-string is in a flash in the pan project she was in years ago called Sonic Lover Reckless.

About the dresses, when Lovebites was touring Europe as the opening act for the band Dragonforce, a French metal mag interviewed the singer (Asami) about this, her responce was, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we're all small and the white and gold makes it easier to see us on stage." And they ARE small. The drummer (Haruna) is only 4' 9" or 144cm, the tallest used to be Miyako (dark haired guitarist) at 5' 2" 157cm but is now their new bassists (Fami) at 5' 2 1/2" 158cm. So much talent in this band. The name LoveBites is reportedly taken from the Halestorm song 'Love Bites' that singer Asami sang at her audition. She does sing in English only, as far as I know. Midori and Myako bring the double guitar solos in nearly every song. Fami on bass is their newest and youngest member, at 21 years old, and this was one of her first live performances with them, so she was really happy to be there. Haruna on the drums is called the Little Big Engine, for her tireless precision on song after song.
My first LoveBites song was 'Holy War' (live at Zepp Divercity Tokyo 2020), and I fell in love with them instantly. I'd also recommend 'Swan Song', which includes a Chopin intro on grand piano.

Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in

In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They play a modernized version of older (80s) styles of metal, think Maiden, Priest, thrash like early Metallica, a bit of hard rock. That was before growling was a thing. Their other side is modern power metal, also no growling there... Not all metal has growling.

Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and exceptional versatile musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. About a month ago they finished their tour in Asia, Europe and, for the very first time, in the USA. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in a little more than seven years. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. My next recommendations are “Judgement day”, “Set the world on fire” (live) or, for a softer style “Liar”, “Empty daydream” (live)
That was epic!!! Yeah that sums up everything about these musicians with insane talent who wear their femininity proudly in gowns and heels but turn into Metal Goddesses on stage. Anything done LIVE by these women will surprise from ballet dance steps, acoustic guitars, classical piano and insane playing especially Midori/Blond and Miyako/Black. Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They also played their first US shows this year in September.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs.

She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop

Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack 🐺 Lovebites fans around the world, will be along to give you information and recommendations.
Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE.
Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

The ladies really shine on stage. I saw Lovebites live in London twice during their recent European tour. I have been a fan of Rock and Metal music right from the beginning seeing bands bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden when they were 'new', Lovebites are amongst the best I have ever seen in over 60 years

A quick ps, This concert is from March 2023, the bands comeback gig after a 2 year hiatus. This song is the opener for a 2 hour set. It is the first time on stage with the band for Fami (playing the red 5 string Bacchus Bass Guitar) and her first time in front of a crowd of this size. She was only 20 years old. You can tell from her ear to ear grin how much fun she is having 😁

Not to take anything away about the other bandmembers because they're all top notch. Lovebies blends all kinds of metal and also play some powerballads too and while their music is highly technical, it's also melodic with great songwriting. This was pretty special because it was the opening song with the new bass player Fami. Throughout the concert it was as much a welcome for her into the band from the fans as it was a comeback concert for them all after a bit of a hiatus. Its a fabulous concert.

no 7-string guitars here. Lovebites play "normal" 6-string guitars. the only extended range instrument here is the 5-string bass and that only happened when Fami joined as the new bassist. Their previous bassist (and founder) Miho played their stuff on a "standard" 4-string bass. Not sure if any of the new stuff specifically requires a 5-string or if it's just a matter of Fami's preference.

Neither of them are seven-string guitars. Midori, the blonde with the hair you like, plays an ESP E-II Horizon. Miyako, the brunette guitarist, plays a Dean USA Icon. I've never seen Midori play a seven-string guitar, and the only time I recall seeing her play a seven-string is in a flash in the pan project she was in years ago called Sonic Lover Reckless.

About the dresses, when Lovebites was touring Europe as the opening act for the band Dragonforce, a French metal mag interviewed the singer (Asami) about this, her responce was, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we're all small and the white and gold makes it easier to see us on stage." And they ARE small. The drummer (Haruna) is only 4' 9" or 144cm, the tallest used to be Miyako (dark haired guitarist) at 5' 2" 157cm but is now their new bassists (Fami) at 5' 2 1/2" 158cm. Incidentally this was the first song, of the first concert that Fami played with her new band Lovebites.
