    Thanks for the video, i just grabbed an explorer intake i just wanted to see if there was anything i needed to know before i attempted it, id like to toss a big dogs srage 2 cam in at the same time id think with exhaust work it should wake it up a little. When you look at the gt40 and the HO intake is painfully obvious how much better the gt40 is especially on the goose neck, the HO is so skinny and restrictive looking, im sure thats why a stock HO pulls like a tractor even tho its a small displacement very over square engine, typically not the hot setup for stump pulling power. My dad had a 2wd 90 f150 extended cab long bed with the 5.0 and it actually went pretty good considerably better than his previous 89 2wd regular cab long bed with the 300-6 to the point after i drove the 5.0 truck i said why the hell would anyone want the 300-6 its a soggy sock next to the 302.... And the whole 300 had TQ! Claim is Crap the 302 had more HP and low rnd TQ just as good of fuel economy and just as tough and reliable so the only advantage of the 300-6 imo is when you do a tune up you obly have to buy 6 plugs and wires not 8 and it MAY be a smidge lighter ive never checked but if there is any weight difference is negligible. There is a bit more room under there but an 8.2" deck windsor is tiny so thsts not an issue anyway and with a 300 you can never have a nice sounding exhaust just a lame old fart buzz. The 5.0 is a great engine, its no sbc but its still one of the greats, ill say SBC, 8.2" windsor then the Chrysler LA. Totally got off on a semi non related rant lol.

      I believe The injectors for the explorer 302 and mustang 302 are different connectors. I do know the Explorer injectors have a better spray pattern, but I don’t believe they’re worth the hassle.

    Did you ever figure out the problem with the throttle body? And can you use the fuel rail from the sn95 or do you need an explorer one? And finally any problems with the intake hitting the hood?

    • @Justin_SVT
      @Justin_SVT  Рік тому

      The problem was the throttle position sensor being in a really awkward position, and yes, all you gotta do is have a lot of patience and a really tiny ratchet. You can use the factory rails and injectors no problem. I actually ended up having to buy a whole new set of injectors because two of the factory ones broke. There’s no issues with the intake hitting the hood either.

    • @Macho_MT
      @Macho_MT Рік тому

      @@Justin_SVT that’s good that the throttle cable and cruise ended up working. Did you put a cam in it as well or leave it stock? I wo trying to figure out how cheep I can make some more power I know that the 94 95 computers are finicky with mods, I think I can get away with intake and the gt40 heads with out a tune and maybe 24lb injectors and a 24lb injector calibrated maf. What did you do for your sn95 build and did you get it tuned?
      Also it sucks how expensive that intake elbow is especially when having to convert to Canadian and then pay for shipping.

    • @Justin_SVT
      @Justin_SVT  Рік тому +1

      @@Macho_MT I didnt put a cam in it because I realized that in order to make any type of decent power I could leave the cam stock and run it with a good amount of boost. GT40 heads without a tune and 24lb injectors will work fine, but to get the most out of the combination you’ll need a tune. I recommend Ted Jenkins at Tuning Innovations when you want to get it tuned.

    • @Macho_MT
      @Macho_MT Рік тому

      @@Justin_SVT I am puzzled rn. I bought an explorer intake throttle body and gt40 heads. I plan on in the future making more power with my car and my plan was to start with the intake and heads keep the stock cam and stay with the 19lb injectors for a bit but later upgrade to 24lb and a 24lb injector maff hopefully need no tune. But the price of that elbow and a new maf add up when on a budget. Lot a work too and will it even give much gains? Enough to feel it on the but dyno not sure can find videos on people doing it. But rn I could sell the heads I got for $88 at a yard for like $500 rn as I have interest in them. Not sure could always keep them and wait till I do what I said above and even add a mild cam. But is the price for hp going to be worth it by the time things are through. Love to hear an option or if you know anyone who has just done something similar.

    • @Justin_SVT
      @Justin_SVT  Рік тому

      @@Macho_MT honestly… it’s really not worth it. You gain about 50hp but at the end of day you’re still only gonna make 250chp max with the head and intake. The GT40 heads are really valuable for some reason and people will pay a pretty penny for them. If I were you I’d just sell them and get a Coyote like I did lol
