3000lb car with 300whp sounds like fun to me.
In California if your 5.0 sounds loud like that your going to the state referee 🤦♂️ I’m really starting to hate Cali
back a few years ago when I did heads, cams and intake, I was very disappointed at the end... 300 to the wheels... not worth the cost... but you live and you learn!
My ‘86 with stock bottom end, TW 170 heads, E303 cam, roller rockers, equal length shorties and stock H-pipe with cats did 314/346 on a Mustang dyno.
I'm going to say 297 hp,331 tq! I would be happy with it...A real BBK cold air kit is a lot better than that e-bay junk. Our better yet an Anderson Ford power pipe!!
My 90 GT In 1999 I had a 306, stock ported heads, custom cam, edelbrock intake full Length headers etc....332rwhp 355 rwtq..car ran 11.80s @ 115 and 7.50s @ 92. Made for a fun street car
Depends on the combo. An explorer top end with a letter cam might be 280 whp on it's best day (unported of course) but if you got a qualify top end like 11r heads, a custom ground cam and a badass intake you could see much higher on a stock bottom end stock 302 cubes...you could see upwards of 350 whp or even more depending how far you spin it. A light fox with gears feels killer with that kinda power lol.
I'd be happy with 300hp in my 90 LX. That would be a blast
how you fit them wheels?
What are you using to tune.. ?
Damn plugs will get you everytime... Can't wait for the next dyno run!
I love your channel. I really don't miss back east but I loved that part of the country when I lived around and north of Knoxville. Great part of the country. And gives me an idea what I was running back in those days. Sometimes it felt like more than 300 anyway.
Also check all your ignition components. Back in the day when i dynoed my gt40p combo it would start sputtering the exact same way. We changed plugs, adjusted timing and it was still there. We changed the cap/rotor and it got better. But once we changed the stock ignition coil....BAM! No more sputtering and all pulls were smooth as butter
Love fox bodies! Great job on the look and parts. Use to have a 93..now just have a ton of parts collecting dust.
I had that same cold air intake, ditched for a C&L elbow and open element filter. I leaned it out a little with an adjustable fuel regulator and it woke it up a whole lot. This car is sick! Damn, I miss my old fox.
Best guess I think for heads, cam and intake only, 100 hp above stock. With a supercharger guessing an additional 50 - 150 hp depending on the air flow and valvetrain. It’ll be good to find out that’s for sure.
TFS 11r 190 heads, Holley Systemax II and Anderson N-41 cam can easily give you 340rwhp.
I quit using parts house plugs and order all my spark plugs from the manufacturer. I think my Windsor would walk the dog on your 5.0 liter but that ac you got though I don't have anything for you! Love the channel when I close my shop I look for new content daily. Woohoo Bristol Fl !!!!!!
Always good to do a once over prior to dyno day to check things like plugs, gap, wires, etc. but with everything going on right now in the world...I can see just getting a plug that would work. Hopefully his tuning gets a little easier with the correct range plug. Can’t wait for the vortech!
Damn that’s a clean ass hatchback 🤩
