To people coming here to comment that its out now, i literally spent this whole video defending them and empathizing with their entire situation. The video was literally just a summary of all Fallout London updates over the past 3 weeks. Please, watch the video before you think I'm criticising them. I literally did the complete opposite!

Epic Game Store: Unlike GOG and Steam which keep version copies of games, doesn't. The Next-Gen update changes several key files which are incompatible with the downgraded version of the .exe and .bsa mapping. So manually downgrading via Epic isn't possible.

A mod like this would take a bite out of BSG's FO76 player count. It is perfectly believable of them to time the update to coincide with Londons drop date. This mod would have grabbed a lot of the TV show viewers who would have played 4 instead of 76. They want all they eyes on the "new" game. Not talking trash, just pointing out the business side.
I agree I almost downloaded fallout 76 when I realised I wouldn’t be able to play fallout London. Then I decided to play Helldivers.
People have little compassion for team Folon. They made this mod free of charge got kinda screwed over by Bethesda and fans have the audacity to be mad at them. The mod looks great happy to play it whenever it comes out!
Compassion? After delaying it since 2022 for at least 4 times since a because 1-the queen died and they had to remove it from the game (like wtf?!?) 2-Starfield release (laughable 😂) 3-Christmas 4-whining about next gen

@@joemedina4731 have you ever made a mod in your life? I’m guessing not because even small mods take hours and hours to do. I’ve made weapon mods/packs for fallout 3, NV, and 4. Each weapon took at minimum 7 hours to complete. Those were with detail and all worked properly within the game, so how long do you think it would take to build an entire place, story, characters, weapons, and enemies?
@joemedina4731 Wow I never thought someone could be so out of touch. Modding, especially for Fallout 4 is really difficult. Not to mention that Fallout London is an entire DCL sized mod. Grow up and just be patient.

My confusion lays witht the fact it took them like 3 months to make this decision. (To me) It seems like something that should have been done a month or even a few weeks after the NG Update.
Ever program? Sometimes you just find that hey, it should work, but it doesn't and their is no way to move forward.

@@LordOfLightningSkies well they needed to make an entire backend server for their installer. It needs to downgrade most likely installing additional replacement files and then it installs the game from that point on. That's not a one week development job lol
@@ryanglacier30 You're not comprehending the main issue, communication. It's not about the difficulty of the task, it's the misleading language, blame shifting to Bethesda and the decision to say "It's ready to go!" when it clearly wasn't. If it was ready to go, then we wouldn't still be waiting for the version of the mod made for the pre next gen update, they would have just released the "finished" version of the pre NG update version before/shortly after the NG update. I just feel bad for the people who are new to modding who will be put off by having to downgrade their version of the game after the FOLON team insisted that they'd only release the mod for the NG update.

*shrug* I am a bit more than a casual player, I guess, and tend to frequent creator discords for mod projects like SS2, -- from my perspective -- most players are already using a downgrader, unless they are on consoles. That said, everyone involved should have learned from the Skyrim AE launch and the schism it created in the community between a downgraded version and the AE version and just released it as soon as there was a functional downgrader. Frankly, downgrading for most legal users via Steam is a simple process that takes less than 90 seconds, and most of that is downloading the downgrader and associated files. The actual downgrading process takes less than 5 seconds once you drop the correct files in the game folder.
That doesn't always work, in fact i had it break my skyrim install and had some wonky things going on with FO4 as well(it's fine now).

This raises suspicions on if it really was finished & ready to release on St George’s day considering they’re ONLY NOW releasing a downgraded version.
The Japanese version is still broken. They still have no access to the CC they already bought. And yes, it is the right of the developer to do what they want. Apparently this includes randomly removing content you paid for.
This reminds me of the (superb) Enderal, a free ground-up mod of Skyrim. But it only works (last time I checked) with the original release of Skyrim and not the Special Edition. This doesn't bother me, as my PC is getting a little long in the tooth anyway, so Fallout London is perhaps more likely to run well but I understand some folks not wanting to roll their F4 install back.
I can understand, Bethesda has been silent on when they will address the bugs added to FO4, if they will at all.
Do you believe Fallout London would have been released if the next-gen-update didn't drop? The pre-next-gen version was and is available all the time, you know.
P.S.: If you don't install the F4 Unofficial Patch (face-gen issue, according to mod authors) the next-gen-update version runs rock-stable and perfectly smooth. Played 1.10.984 for over 200 hours with over 300 mods (no face-gen mods though). There are only 3 mods I miss dearly: Classic Holstered Weapons, Crafting Highlight Fix and Looks Menu.
It has been months, I dont care about the statement that "we have to roll-back your game version." That is not an issue, why? Because rolling back version number of the game has been done many times including with massive mod packs numbering in the 1K-3K mods range. So clearly as mod author's we have already not only done this but have provided this for end-users at the scale that anyone that can double click on an installer can manage this. So what is the reason for real?
I have the gog version of the game, so used the offline installer to make a second copy of fo4 on my hard drive for folon exclusively. Won't affect my other heavily modded copy of fo4 in the least.

FINALLY! A GOOD DECISION! The only reason I'd TRY the upgrade was for London. Glad I don't have to waste time upgrading the game.
Since the "upgrade" of Fallout 4 to the "Next Gen Version" I've had several CTD's, storylines getting blocked, screen tearing, awful stuttering and long load times. What WAS my favourite game has become a source of frustration, need for constant quick saving and reloads and long intervals between starting a session.
I hate it when a plan doesn't come together!
Different comment. I own both the Steam AND GOG versions of Fallout 4. Will I be able to instal the GOG Downgraded Version to play Fallout London whilst keeping the Steam Next Gen Version on my PC?

When beth relies so heavily on the modding community, the least they could do is not fuck over the same people who help make there games better. People need to stop giving them a pass with putting out broken crap, even more so when it breaks an older game and breaks the mods that keep people playing.
I'm waiting patiently right now. I tried out the next gen update using Game Pass so I didn't have to update my modded Steam version of Fallout 4. Imo, the update was better for console players than PC players. But I see that as their target audience for new players since they are owned by Microsoft.
How many times did he say he doesn't understand why you can't just manually downgrade the Epic store version of the game? I swear he said it so many times I thought my video playback was glitched and it was basically a record skipping.

I don't understand why ANYONE even bothered to update to next gen in the 1st place (unless your 12 and have never played a Bethesda game b4). U had to know it was going to break all your mods. U also had to know there was no way in hell FO London was going to be compatible. They started making that mod/game 3 years ago and it relies on so many current mods. I can't believe they tried to make it work but, at least they can say they did.

Using old save games with mods won't work and that's what most people seem to do.
Seen one guy complain about the Next Gen Update and you could see it was modded . And he blamed Bethesda as the mod didn't give trouble before the update 😬
I'm not a programmer so i admit i'm ignorant, but it seems to me to be a huge risk, to put so much work into a mod when apparently the owners of the game didn't want anything to do with it.
I think that so far the modding community proved that nothing is impossible when it comes to go crazy with mods without any support from BGS, give modders time and every issue will be solved eventually
Same goes for any type of programming. I could spend a ton of time developing an app, or something, but then Android and Apple, or any operating system updates, and it ruins my code. Systems built on top of systems are never stable, good rule to live by.
Bugthesda and that little weasel Todd always has done what they want and continues that attitude to this day. It's why so many players are done with them.
The answer came to me last night while watching how poorly London is running. The game company wants people to purchase and play Fallout 76, not Fallout London. That is cutting into their profits.

Isn't it the Script Extender that is causing the Next Gen version to be unstable?
From my understanding its any edits to npcs via mods causes horrific stuttering.
@@DHDtroll Ahh i tried the script extender to use a ui mod and it caused all kinds of crashes when looking at containers. But when i removed the Script Extender and used a ui mod that didn't need it i had no crashes. That's why i thought it was compatibility with the script extenders.

@@DuneRunnerEnterprises GOG version with Buffout 4 and a long load time optimiser is very stable for me. There are some quest and item bugs though but those can be fixed via console commands for now.

If you use any mod that edits NPC records such as clothing, armor or weapons the frame rate tanks. I run a pretty monstruous pc and had pretty bad frame drops. That is why you must downgrade

I think the creation engine is the least of their problems tbh. IMO the most glaring issue is Emil P. and how they're dumbing down so many systems, using procedural generation, etc. the engine is actually fine imo for the kind of game it is again IMO. what do u think theyre going to do with a new engine anyways?

@@chaserseven2886 I know it's not Emil's decision to use procedural generation, my gripe with Emil is how he is a terrible writer and constantly retcons lore, I should have been more clear. I know Bethesda has used procedural generation in the past, my problem is that its getting worse and they're using it in half ass ways (prime example, Starfield, legit 80 percent of the game is just empty planets with the same exact dungeons (idk why they didnt do them the way they did Oblivions dungeons)
