These Super Powers Variant Comic Book Covers Should Be ACTUAL Action Figures!

- These new Super Powers themed variant comic book covers are SO GOOD, they should be made into action figures IMMEDIATELY! Created by Jason Geyer, better known as ToyOtter, and original Kenner Super Powers artist, Alex Saviuk, these covers imagine what an unreleased wave of Kenner Super Powers toys would have looked like. We're taking a look at these covers and discussing them as if they were actual action figures. Note - we recorded this video before they released, so we're looking only at the digital renders...but hopefully now that they’re hitting comic shops, we can bring them to the channel in hand soon! And of course another big shout out to our subscriber, Hispanic at the Disco (Remy) for the awesome renderings of us!

What do you guys think of these variant covers? Wish they were actual figures as much as we do?
Yes!!! Absolutely!
I would pay double price for ANY of these.
These are impressive! I would like to see some of these be actually made in McFarlane's next wave, especially Poison Ivy, Jon Stewart, Nightwing, and that pictured version of the Fortress of Solitude. I have to say even though the card art differs slightly than some of the figures, it's still old-school art at its best from Alex Saviuk. I also like the price tag idea from Toy Otter. I haven't visited their site in a long time.
They are very impressive! The attention to detail is incredible. Even to the point that I think the slight differences in art to “figure” is intentional since that’s usually the case on the actual figures, as well.
@@JustBSingProductions I think we might see a few of these materialized if not all of them in future waves. We'll just have to wait and see.

i haven't opened any of my mcfarlane super powers figs yet, do they come with mini comic books?
Unfortunately, they do not! That would be another great addition to bring back.
Any news on the upcoming new Superman classic sculpt? Would love a new Superman figure like they did the second Batman figure to match the old Super Powers look. Love your channel! Keep up the great work!
Thanks! No, nothing new yet, but that’s also what we’re hoping for! We’ll share updates as soon as we get them.
at 720 you can see they meant for the figure to have an oval window for her cleavage but the painters in china screwed it up and painted flesh color where there was supposed to be some white near her clavicles to make an oval window for her cleavage
Haven't read to see if it happened already, but as a preemptive strike against those railing against you for the shirtless Batman, I only knew what they were doing because of Arrow. In Arrow, Queen and R'as had a shirtless sword fight in the mid-season finale...
Yeah I remember that on Arrow! They really did just kind of give Ollie half of Bruce’s storylines in that show lol.
@@JustBSingProductions I have never read much Batman, so it was fine with me. Love Arrow. Of course, it was Smallville that got me into the character, and the background featurette on the season 6 DVD solidified it...
We’re big fans of Smallville! Still go back and rewatch it often. Arrow was good too, as were most of the Arrowverse shows.
@@JustBSingProductions I'm rewatching Smallville along with Talkville. I was a big fan of Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Legends (especially after adding Constantine). Loved Batwoman, just too bad Rose seems to have been so much trouble behind the scenes, no show can recover from losing its titular star, but they did the best they could. I did find Black Lightning overrated, but had hoped it would be great, only watched the 4th season because it was announced it was the last. The CW really only completely missed with Naomi (horrible translation of a great comic) and Gotham Knights if you ask me.
I'd love to see these, especially Power Girl (and other Earth Two/JSA figures). On another topic, has wave 9 been revealed yet visually?

From that list, I would luuuuuvvv to get the Teen Titans. And, of course, Power Girl. I mean, if that's ever released, that's a 1st day pre-order for me.
Yeah for sure. I’d prefer a Supergirl first if we’re gonna get a Kara, but Power Girl would definitely be a close second!
Very cool. I think a big miss of the original line (a great line) was it not having more ofthe Teen Titans (especiallyKid Flash& Wonder Girl) so nice to see them even if just as art. One of the awesome parts of Mego's 8" line was that they did all of the core Teen Titans, though ironically not all of the JLA (surprisingly missing the Flash & GL). The icingon the cake was John Stewart. Hope they make more of these covers.

Stephen and Chris, you guys are great. Chris had me rolling on this video I was laughing hard. The Dick sticks and the Bobby Hill kick man that was great. All these figures would be sooooooo good. Would love a John Stewart in his mosaic outfit always thought that symbol was cool. Love the vid. Keep up the great work

before the wb left the cw, they were going to do a Wonder Girl tv show, but they scrapped that idea and made some other tv show i can't even remember the name of about a black girl not from the comic books, but she gets some powers from somewhere, it got cancelled but i would have preferred a wonder girl tv show after enjoying the star girl tv show
Are you talking about "Naomi?" That was based on a DC comic.

Would the gold superman be the first variant superhero figure ever made? Batman of course did become the first to get a variant figure( gold too i think ).
I am not sure about that to be honest. I think that might go to Mattel’s Marvel Secret Wars line. They had a regular Spider-Man and a black suit Spider-Man in 1984-85.
@@JustBSingProductions you're right, but what I meant was the unreleased gold superman was the frist time I think the concept of variant action figures was made. Might make a good topic to discuss in a future video.

Hey Stephen, guessing question for you here? After Wave 9 hits. What characters or whatever you would like to see next for Wave 10? Amazing we've been through 9 waves so far here.
So many options. But I think an ideal wave for me would be Supergirl and Batgirl instead of another Superman/Batman repaint, Jay Garrick Flash, and Captain Atom for heroes and Lex Luthor and Giganta as villains. Gold Label Batcycle for Batgirl as a vehicle.

i had no idea these were coming out. It makes me want to go to every nearby comic shop to hunt these down. IDW did a similar thing with an issue of the Ghostbusters comic when they had that IP.
