- LINK to NEW Keurig Filter: amzn.to/3xQlGnC Hi Guys, today I’m showing you the My K-Cup Universal Reusable Coffee Filter. This is the new model. The original model I did a while ago and if you want to see that video, I’ll put a link below in the description section.
OLD Filter Video: • Keurig My K-Cup Univer...
Keurig K Supreme Plus Video: • Keurig K-Supreme Plus ...
The old model is all black. This new filter has a gray top. There’s a red plug under the lid. This is the gray filter basket and black filter holder. There’s a gray adapter on the side. To remove it, just push down and it comes off. To put it back, this opening goes into the hook. This filter is BPA free.
I’ll show you how to use the filter with this Keurig K Supreme Plus which I recently reviewed. I will leave a link to that review below in case you want to see it. For this unit, we’ll take the adapter off. Turn the lid counterclockwise and take it off. Take the filter off. Put ground coffee into the filter, Keurig recommends using a coarser grind. I’m using a finer grind here and I didn’t have any issues but a fine espresso grind could clog the screen. There’s a max line so don’t fill above that. Put it in the filter holder. Turn the lid clockwise so the lock icon matches up with the white dot. Lift the handle of the unit and remove the pod holder. Push up from the bottom and it comes off. Put the filter in with the white arrow facing the back. lower the handle. Choose your size, I’ll do 8oz and press the big K in the middle to brew. Coffee tastes strong and really good. You don’t have to fill coffee up to the max line, you can fill less, depends on the type of coffee you’re using. For a 10 oz cup, I would fill to the max line. For 8 oz, I would fill a little less especially with the coffee that I used.
Lift the handle and remove the filter. Twist off the cover, remove the filter holder and tap out the coffee. Wait a few minutes after brewing because this is very hot. To clean, remove the red lid plug and wash all parts in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry. You can also wash in the top rack of your dishwasher but just be careful to secure the red plug or it will fall off. I always hand wash the filter right after drinking coffee. This way, it’s ready and clean for the next cup.
Don’t forget to put the red plug back on the lid. Also, put the pod holder back if you’re using k-cups.
Keurig recommends using only coffee with this filter, no tea leaves or hot cocoa.
Using this filter saves you money since you can use ground coffee instead of the pricey k-cups.
My older filter has lasted for years and I’m hoping this one will too.

Finally! This video is the one that actually helped me succinctly see how to properly use the reusable filter ! The Keurig instructions are insufficient . Thank you for making this video!
You’re welcome 😀
I use mine with the Keurig Supreme but WITHOUT that little red piece of plastic.
You are supposed to remove the red seal when using this on the K-Supreme Plus machines . You use the red seal on the older machines that have the single injection , it stops the grinds from coming back up and getting coffee grinds into your coffee.
Yup...exactly.
Thank you! I did not know the grey adapter came off. Now I can enjoy my ground coffee!
Thanks! I had lost my instructions by the time I went to use this for the first time and I couldn't find any other video that helped me. Yours was the first I came across that helped.
Finally a video explaining with accuracy and clear directions! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks! The included instructions were clear as mud and I couldn't figure it out.
Excellent demo... Thanks!
Thank you. I was trying to figure out how to remove the piece from inside the machine and never thought to just simply push it out from underneath.
Glad it was helpful 😁
I knew to press from the bottom, but it’s stuck on one hook at the back. I can only get the front to pop up.
Thank you, that really helped.
Thank you very Clear instructions
You are welcome!
Thanks I’m getting one 🙌
Great! 😁
Thanks for the info Anita! 😃👍🏻☕👊🏻
You’re welcome, Fred 😄
Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️
*What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Romans 10:9
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
JESUS CHRIST can come anytime!
Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

You're welcome 😀
I still have my 2.0 model. Surprisingly it hasn't busted yet after the 7 years
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
Thank you, thank you, thank you! If you hadn't taken the time to record this video, I may never have gotten this mahjong going. The Keurig instructions-- and I use cl the term "instructions" loosely--tucked. Again, thank you@
You're very welcome!
Ohh. I saw it!
I prefer the EZ Cup with the disposable filter paper cup inserts. Easy to use, works in all machines designed to use disposable K-Cups with no modification, easy clean up (dispose/compost the filter paper & grounds, then rinse the plastic filter cup holder & lid), and with the filtering effectiveness of using a paper filter I can use as fine of a grind as I like with no flow restrictions or grounds in my coffee cup problems.
Your supposed to remove the orange plug for that model before brewing you only leave in the orange plug for the old 2.0 models
If you use these with paper filters, keep in mind that all the paper filters are sized for the older shorter k-cups. The carafe size filters more or less fit but the paper is so thick, the hot water will back flush and overflow. I believe you can readily get the older shorter style in non-kuerrig brands
Can you recommend any paper filters that will fit into the Keurig My K-Cup Universal Reusable Filter MultiStream Technology. I would use them to help reduce the sediment and filter out the high cholesterol producing oils. All of the paper filters that I find are too short and they only fit shorter third party reusable pods.
The supreme plus coffee maker uses five jets of water You need to take the orange cap off for this to work properly.
@@dpav02 thank you! It's been driving me crazy trying to figure out WHY???
so the five jets work if you remove the red plastic thing? I got the new machine with the five jets.
@@Dempsey222 Yes ... remove tha plastic red ring.
@@BCdude In a video some guy said leave it on but one video said take it off. seems like taking it off is better.
You only leave the red ring on if you have one needle brewer but if you have the new one with 5 needles you have to take it off for it to work properly.
I'm assuming the red insert is meant for use with single needle machines, as it plugs the extra unused holes. For multi stream, it would get pushed out of the way by the extra needles anyway. You could probably ditch it altogether if you're using a Supreme, though it wouldn't hurt to keep it on if you're really clumsy and are afraid of spilling some grinds through those holes.
I removed that little red piece. Yes you need to be careful to not let dry grounds spill out but it does keep the 4 extra sharp pins cleaner.
So weird the lid won't close like in your video when I put the universal adaptor , does it works ok still ?
thanks for this video would this be a good fit for the k supreme ..not the plus..cause I have the k supreme..
For the sticker, use a hair dryer or space heater. It softened the adhesive quite nicely for me.
Thanks for the tip 😀
@@bestkitchenreviews Use paint thinner or Mineral Spirits (same thing). You can buy a small amount at a craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby. IT WON'T HURT THE PLASTIC and after it dries (pretty quickly) it leaves no residue. Just dip a Q-tip in it and soak the label. Wait a few minutes and the label should peel off EASILY. For stubborn labels you might have to soak it a few times. Use a new wet Q-tip to be sure all the glue is gone. You can also try alcohol, but it takes longer and does not work quite as well.
Nice video fun and informative, nicely done thank you
Thanks 🙏
@@bestkitchenreviews your welcome 😊
I’ve been looking for paper filters that will fit this particular filter and have had no luck. Most are too short and the paper filters for the carafe are too tall. Anyone found any paper filters that fit?
Hi, does this new design K cup universal reusable coffee filter compatible with the Keurig mini plus? if not, which reusable coffee filter is compatible? Thank you.
Did you remove the red plug in the my k cup
what if I had a version of kurig that doesn't have a removable pod holder?
Does coffee taste any better?
Anyone knows how to clean inside the coffee maker?? I forgot to lock my reusable filter and now there's coffee grinds inside
Is this compatible with the K duo ?
Ick and will replace that little basket in 2 mons or less.. I clean mine religiously daily with toothbrushes.. the coffee residue builds up so fast it drives me crazy. The screen so tightly meshed together it never comes clean again after first use
Do you use the red insert for the Supreme (not the Plus)?
I don't.
What does the red thing do on the cap? Does it stop the machine from using all the jets to brew coffee?
You only leave it on for single needle models, if yours has the 5 needles then you have to remove it.
Question, when using the this or any other reusable filter and no matter how coarse I grind the coffee I always get sediment in the bottom of my cup. Does anyone know of a way to prevent this?
There are paper filters for My K-cup, but all the listings for them on Amazon refer to the old, non-multi-stream My K-Cup. I'm hoping the same paper filters work for the new My K-cup, but I don't know that. Perhaps someone who has tried them will tell us.
You are improperly using the Reusable K-cup filter with the newer model machine you are showing. There are 5 puncture holes for that machine so you need to REMOVE the little red rubber insert found inside the top of the reusable filter for the correct amount of water to flow through. The older machines only have ONE center hole. Thats the only time you would keep the little red rubber insert thats in in the top of the filter.
( 2nd comment) : I had problems when I put the red rubber seal piece as you have shown it. I got coffee grounds and water splattered all over the top of the capsule. I reversed it and put it on the other side and since I’ve had no problem. I have a single needle pouring spout on my Keurig duo essentials machine btw…
What is that rubber piece meant to do……?
i just got one and it leaks big time - what do you mean you reversed the red seal ?
@@flyoverfredusa I put that red rubber part on the other side of the plastic cap…..
It fits on either side…
That stopped the messiness….
However, I learned that I may be using the wrong type of reusable capsule. There’s another one that’s all black and only has a single hole in the middle of the cap for my single needle spout type Keurig coffee machine.
@@JCiTrusTinYou i'll have a look at mine, if I can't sort it it's going back ! Thanks for the reply
You have to push the plugs tight in
Does it work even if your Keurig doesn't have the 5 puncture things?
Yes you leave the red plug in place for use in the 2.0
My wife was about to take the “my k cup” back to the store because she said it doesn’t fit…I said wait, and as I thought you have to pop that black k cup thing out of the coffee maker for the my k cup to fit. Lol
What paper filter fits in the new My K Cup multi stream to catch the sediment which you get if your coffee is too finely ground?
Paper filters…. I found if you use paper filters in these, they will break because the bottom of the paper is not supported by the filter itself. I used canfly paper filters and any size larger than 8oz would break the paper
Honestly this seems like such a hassle with cleanup. Might as well just use an drip machine if you plan on using this.
( 1st comment) : I don’t understand what the purpose of the “adapter“ is used for?
Is it used in some other Keurig machine…?
As she explained in the video, that bottom gray adapter is only used for the older Plus/2.0 brewers.
I still have one of these brewers, and one nice thing about them is you don't have to remove the machine's pod holder for the reusable My K Cup. With the adapter attached, it pushes on a spring mechanism to slide the bottom needle out of the way and fully seat the reusable cup. When you remove the reusable cup, the mechanism slides the bottom needle back into place so it's ready for standard disposable K cups. Pretty clever mechanism...I guess they did away with it in newer brewers to reduce complexity and moving parts.
The red plug has to be removed when using the machines with 5 holes.
That’s my question also😅
The New Style Reusable Coffee Filter System 0:50 is too short by nearly an inch over the pod holder's length, thus not exiting through the bottom of a K Supreme Plus ... therefore it spits fresh hot coffee all over the inside of the head which is hard to clean as it makes a mess. Called Keurig, they have no clue.
The red plug has to be removed to use in the multi stream units
That's what I was wondering. I haven't found anything that explains whether or not to remove the plug, in the multi-stream machines. Keurig website doesn't explain it.
Lighter fluid loosens the glue and easily removes the label. And wash thoroughly to remove the glue residue and air dry. I know people wouldn't like to hear it, but lighter fluid works best.
Goo Gone works great, too!
Isopropyl or rubbing alcohol should also work.
My sister said her just squirted coffee grinds all over but I just assumed she was doing it wrong and so I bought it anyway. Mine squirts coffee grinds all over the kitchen and makes a huge mess. What a joke
I sent this message to Keurig well after a few years of using Keurig K-Slim non Multistream Technology. Keurig Engineering (likely from marketing meddling) has broken a user-friendly ergonomic coffee maker. The Single Serve K Slim K900 now requires me to assembly the filter from 3 separate pieces to achieve Multistream Technology *TM when making coffee using non-K Cups or pre-packaged pods. I am returning the Single Serve K Slim K900 totally disappointed in the NEW product and its loss of ease of use, no longer ergonomically helpful. Those with hand issues or arthritis will not find this multi-piece (4) filter helpful. My perception is that Keurig marketing figured a way to frustrate the user trying to assemble the 3-4-piece adapter if you want to use your own coffee, they will give up and start buying pre-packaged coffee K-Cups instead. I find this to be deceptive marketing strategy.
KEURIG ALWAYS HAS HAD DECEPTIVE MARKETING. REMEMBER WHEN THEY INTRODUCED ONE MODEL SEVERAL YEARS AGO THAT ONLY USED THEIR K CUPS. THANK GOODNESS FOR ALL THE INNOVATORS THAT DEVELOPED HACKS TO GET AROUND THIS.
This thing is just a stupid design. Too complicated, too many steps to go back and forth between this thing and regular cups. Don’t buy it or if you did, return it immediately.
