Got mine a couple of months ago as a total beginner, it's a lovely guitar to play, it sounded great after a bit of setup. I've since modified it with an Invader pickup. I can't recommend this as a first guitar enough, and especially for the price

I've been playing guitar for 20 years, decided upon buying a top class guitar. After thinking about it, I bought a Squier Sonic Olympic White with Hard Tail bridge. My reasons:
If you don't have f... you money to buy a 2-3k instrument, you end up doing fret work, changing the nut, pickups and so on. So why not do all these things on a 150 usd or so instrument instead? Otherwise it's a waste of money.
    The result:
I bought the Squier, spent 150 usd on tools (including a nut and a set of strings), bought some of them, made other ones myself. I've spent 8 hours doing a full fret work, shielding the cavities, changing the nut, doing the setup, installing a pair of decent string trees. The guitar ended up playing good, feeling fine, it took al the Fender specs regarding string heights pretty well. I just ordered a new jack output and a tone knob and when I manage to order new pickups, I'll change those too. All in all, it was a nice experience, it feels totally different when playing a guitar that you have done work on, knowing all the ins and outs of the instrument. It was worth all the pennies and the time spent on it.

Yeah your totally correct. I never understood the use for spending loads of big money when alot cheaper does the job. If you look at my other videos i play gigs on a rare 30 year old, but only cost me £200, Jackson 🤣 Iv even done gigs on entry level untouched beginner guitars and they play and sounded just fine

Is the neck thin or on thicker side? Love thin bodies and necks.

Id say its average maybe even on the thinner side. But its not on the levels like Ibanez or Jacksons etc. Still feels really smooth and easy to play across the fretboard
