Just purchased the HSS version of this as a 2nd guitar. (My main guitar is a Fender Tele Player MIM). Surprised of how well set up this was from the factory. Also, seems like great value for the price. Though I agree that the frets are sharp, I may try to smooth them out. Also, I’m going to replace the pickups over time. Would recommend.

Are the shield holes compatible with other shields? I want to change the pickguard and pickups on this guitar, but I'm not sure if they will be compatible. I'm going to add a Fleor kit from Aliexpress.

Squier have snuck out the Debut series, exclusive to Amazon for £125 the last time I checked. I'd love to hear your take on one.
I'm pretty sure the debuts are the new version of the crap Squier Stratocaster Argos use to sell, they were made in china but were REALLY bad!
@theguitarmanifesto more than likely. I think the matte finishes are pretty cool though.
The necks were a strange composite Laurel, I'll wait till they go on offer and find out for sure!
Nice too see you back!,back in 81 my mate had a squier japan that was branded fender ,it was quite stunning compared to my crappy kay sg,.....imagine squire moving production to japan now .

@@theguitarmanifesto Thanks for the link-and tour bro! I haven't been here for 3 years and I've missed a lot! The sparkle Strat and Epi LP were sweet! Do you still have them? Yay Rat pedal!! The blue British head that is on your screen-I always thought that was a compressor of some sort. Now I know! I like the way you use real pedals with your software. I was doing that with my Metal Zone for a while.
Time flies, I don't have any guitars from back then, I have since started to mic my marshall amp since I moved to this house a couple of years back, I can crank it more now, this is pretty much how I used to record my band amd friends EPs etc

@theguitarmanifesto mine tried to get me to wear ankle socks ffs. Wasn't happy when I bought high tops 😅
I feel like you might've just gotten a somewhat bad one. I have the bullet and my mate has the sonic, and with the exception of the neck they almost feel like the exact same guitar. Plus, the neck on his sonic is definitely smoother than my bullet's, and the fret ends on his seem pretty fine to me. His also has much nicer grain on the neck (not that it matters a huge amount), though I prefer the darker maple neck and laurel (I think) fretboard over the pale maple on everything. The tuners are noticeably different, though neither type seems much better than the other on ours. How do you think the tone compares between the two? Just wondering if the pickups have changed much. I don't notice much difference, but I've never had them in the same room for a direct comparison.
Could well be but I go by what's in front of me having owned 100s of Squier bullets. I've had some bad bullets too but this one had the worst frets ends I've ever had on a Squier. I had a sonic Mustang recently and that was fine, just like any bullet Mustang I've had in the past.
The pickups seem like any other bullet I've had, bright and crisp 👌
@@theguitarmanifesto I guess they can all vary in condition then. Maybe we just ended up with two decent ones, which is quite nice!

@@theguitarmanifesto At least issues like this don't seem to happen often then. We certainly did alright with ours. I got my bullet new for about £110, and for that price it's pretty brilliant. Sometimes I think about getting a more expensive Strat, and maybe I will one day, but this one does the job.

Unless your a beginner. Or someone who likes to mod guitar. I suggest saving some money and buy a guitar that don't need as shitload of stuff done to it. JMO. Unless you have GDS.
