- The end of stage 5 and into stage 6! More beautiful landscapes and I run into an old friend. A wonderful storm threatens to blow me over, but a streak of luck keeps me out of the storm!
I’ve published a guide for hiking the hexatrek! If you’re dreaming of this trail or you’re looking into thru hiking, grab a copy! www.laurenroerick.com/store/p...

You're very courageous,
I'm so glad you made it to the shelter,
Wind blowing, rain drops falling like
Arrows .
Amazing
Perfect place to enjoy an epic storm. Envious here...
Aw the best, Lauren.
Absolutely!!
Thanks for thinking about us and posting this during your next adventure. Scree, wind, hail, lightening and really chill. Definitely expanding your comfort zone.... ❤ 🌺 🙏
I couldn’t leave you hanging when the series is so close to the end!
And that’s the best part of thru hiking, expanding your capabilities! :)
Wow, it's amazing you went from a sorta moon landscape to beautiful green valleys and mountains
It changed so quickly!!
The Pyrenees sure look beautiful and wild!
But the rocks and weather van hold you back for sure!
Great that you ran into old friends!
Mushrooms from a stranger.. I guess it was worth the risk!
Have a great Sunday! Kaat
Haha yeah I had seen the type of mushroom before- they’re very popular in France to forage!
And yes the Pyrenees are so lovely :)
Toujours au top!! merci pour ces belles images et bravo pour avoir affronté la pluie et le vent avec le sourire :)
Merci beaucoup! ☺️
That free refuge you stayed in reminded me of hiking the Long Trail a few years ago now. At the tops of all the ski lifts are warming huts that are used by ski patrol and other ski resort staff up there in season, but are left open all year for anyone that needs to get out of the weather. Often times used by hikers anyway. I had lunch on the porch with a fantastic view on Mt. Ellen and stayed the night in one on Madonna Peak. I was going to stay in it anyway, but turned out to be very windy that night.
This high route was really cool.
Oooh that sounds excellent! Nice to have a way to get out of bad weather for sure :)
Oh la vache! The wind. Wow.
The wind was out of control 😂
Looks like you had a great time in the beautiful outdoor 😊
Absolutely! ☺️
Bonjour !!!!!! I didn't realize that you had already finished the hexa 😂😅 It was still a superb adventure that I continue to watch and by the way HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024 Lauren 😊😊😊😊 it's been a while since I posted !
Haha yes I did! The videos are taking longer than anticipated!
Happy new year!! 🥳
Yes yes I realized it!! Congratulations on that !!! ☺️💪👍⛺️🌲🌿🏆
Thank you 🙏🏼
Wow. Spectacular mountains, some great quotes, and such rough conditions. Another entertaining episode. Almost there! 👏👏
Getting so close to the end of the series!!
Col inférieur du Litérole puis refuge du Portillon.
I really liked this place too.
Thanks for your videos, they are an enjoyment to me.
That’s great! Glad you’re enjoying them :)
I can't imagine how hard it is to leave the tent when it's raining outside! Yuck. Ha, on that scree, all I could think was put the camera away and run down the hill! LOL Also, pie and hot coffee in that weather? YES please. That was a hard core looking refuge. Love it. Here's a question... did you see any For Sale signs on those stone buildings? I feel like that would be a pretty amazing place to just fall off the grid forever.
It’s so hard haha getting out of a warm sleeping bag into the rain and putting on wet socks and shoes. Bleh.
There are definitely places along the way for sale- food for thought! Haha
👍
