Congratulations 🎊 That's a beautiful truck. I've got a black 1979 C30 3×3 dually that I bought two months ago, & it makes me feel good to drive. The sound of that 454 is amazing. I had rust on the top of mine too. I sanded it, bought automotive black paint & clear. I will NEVER lower it, or put those 22" rims, (like most do). These trucks have so much character & the stories they could tell. Good job guy's.
Traders truck accessories in Whittier California was where most Dually owners would go to for dressing out there trucks, from drag boat race teams, sprint car haulers, Winston west stock car haulers and hot boat river haulers to the Colorado River. Those rolled steel rear bumpers were swapped from Suburbans,, they came factory with them. Lake Havasu Az has some square body gems to this day,,,,,,
Nice Crewcab. Looking forward to see what you guys do to it. I purchased a 91 SQBY Dually Crewcab last May (originally from Kansas, purchased out of Kentucky. Just finished 5 / 7 drop, powder coated 16" stock wheels. Working on interior now. Hope to see you guys maybe at SETN in Lebanon.
Those were factory tow mirrors, they were an optional accessory, they actually push in to regular width and pull out for towing. The rear bumper is a blazer bumper, I like the way they look on trucks but it’s not factory. The blazers had smooth bumpers and no steps.
Those Chevrolet & GMC square body crew cab pickups were built from 1973 - 1991, & same with the rest of the square body models too except the regular cab pickups stopped being built in 1987, but just the half ton & three quarter ton models. Then in 1989, the one ton regular cab pickups stopped being built.
That's my dream truck, preferably a K30 dually and I don't care what motor it has because I want to duramax swap it. Problem is I'm in Michigan, I used to have an 87 K10 special deluxe wasn't anything to special it was fairly alright for around my area body was pretty straight but I ended up trading it for a 91 burban with an SM465 in it that was on super swampers. The burban got traded for my current truck which is a cammed 01 sierra. Truck needs work but it's an SLE, 4x4 works I just miss my bench seats😂
Looks like an awesome straight truck ..cant wait to see what you guys do with it ....best of luck . Not sure if you guys reply ...but im gonna throw my question . Thinking of buying , a 1986 chevy Scottsdale, square body pick up truck . 64,000 on the clock . Purchase price $8600. Super clean . What do you guys think of Scottsdale? And whats the difference, from Silverado, and the other models . And what do you think of the price . I'm looking to sup it up , drop it , put rims , muffler , tune up , ect , ect ..interior is clean , but whatever it needs to be changed ,to make It look cleaner .. thanks for the reply ...I know you guys are busy ... Thanks

That’s awesome. We plan on being there.
