Bonnie is one of the most down to earth beautiful souls I ever have met. Very humbling that someone that big would sit with me in a single wide trailer in mounds oklahoma and tell me how she told Clapton to get up and sing, you're with the big dogs now!!! Very neat lady. Miss those days....

definitely, on their influence and talent alone. if they were good enough to the center of the universe for so many hall of fame musicians, they need to be in there with them.
Bonnie had one of the greatest and most unique of rock and blues voices ever. Saw them with Clapton back to back nights at the Fillmore East-geez-53 years ago!! I saw everybody back then and live they could hold their own with them all. Of course the Dominoes to be were their "back up" band. It didn't and doesn't get much better than this.

Hey there, John stroh, So did we all the way here in Durban South Africa, where some of the best 'natural weed' grew in abundance ! Go check out a Humble Pie (Steve Marriott) tune, 30 days in a Hole, where he makes mention of Durban Poison ! Both Traffic & obviously Dave Mason, were great musos !
That's exactly what I did, my friend. Great times and great memories. I met a guy my freshman year from Delaware who turned me on to Dave Mason... "Headkeeper" is still on my playlist! This was real music, soulful and true.
July of ‘71…3 months before Duane left us….I would see the original Brothers Band mid Sept. of ‘71…up until that time I had seen The Beach Boys with Sam The Sham and the Pharaohs and Steppenwolf….was a huge Grand Funk Railroad fan…THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND became my most listened to band from that night in 1971….to this very second in 2023….the southern sound included Delaney and Bonnie…listening to that southern sound out of a boom box on top of Stone Mountain north of Atlanta on them mushrooms grown outta cow pies….oh what a mighty time!!
Man..... So many memories for me.Just a regular kid form the Bronx in the 1960s. I remember buying the Bonnie and Delancy and friends on tour lp. I bought it because I was nuts about Cream and Clapton was playing on the LP. I was totally transfixed by Bonnie and Delancy singing and THEN the BACKUP if you want to call it that. This expanded my musical boundaries ,appreciation of SO MUCH MORE . Thank you Bonnie and Delaney AND friends.Man ,what a ride!

Yes, very fat, swinging and funky (what an awesome rhythm section, too)! It's easy to hear the connections both to Aretha Franklin, War and - in the present day - Tedeschi Trucks Band: TTB are sort of the missing link between these guys, the Allman Brothers Band, Janis Joplin and The Crusaders.
Yes, agree, those pictures ooze of the whole era (even for us who were not even born at the time). The sound is really very good though, of course it isn't always hi-fi (very packed sound image on some stretches) but it's rich and vibrant all the way.
I think the Tedeschi Trucks Band has the same sense of fun and musical adventure. And the Idea that Bobby Whitlock commented on this post is just mind blowing.....Thorn Tree in the Garden is the hidden gem of Layla

About the internet. Just because it says "Bobby Whitlock", does NOT mean it's truly him! YT has comments from Adolf Hitler, Genghis Khan, Jobba The Hut, Nostradamus and many others from Conan The Barberian to Lady Godiva! Geez...
I really love Delaney and Bonnie......they just had that knack of really good sounding rock....what can you say...and credit to Dave Mason and Duane Allman
Justnow gettin into Delaney and Bonnies work i know of their collabs w Duane n Eric im excited to burnone tonight n get into sum exciting material that is still fresh n new to me. Thats exactly what i love about rock n roll music god bless
Gotta agree. TTB band is as close as it gets to the feel and vibe of Delaney and Bonnie! Actually just saw Bonnie recently on a PBS episode from Austin city limits or one of the other regular music shows they have. Must have been from at least a few years ago cause Leon Russell was in the audience. She was basically singing the blues but it was cool to see her nonetheless. Always wish I could have been born ten years earlier so I could have seen D&B, Duane with the Allmans, Pigpen with the Dead, and so many others. Talkin about TTB.. I'm stoked. They're playing one night at the tiny Brooklyn academy of music or Bam for short.. In February. It's about half the size of the beacon so this is gonna be one special show! Can't wait! 🎶🎵🔥💯🔥
Tenor Saxophone- King Curtis Curtis Ousley, who performed under the stage name King Curtis, was an American saxophone virtuoso known for rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, blues, funk and soul jazz. …
Check out King Curtis Live at The Fillmore. Then listen to Aretha Franklin at The Fillmore- both recorded the same night- K. Curtis plays all the way on both LPs.
I have heard this four times tonight, it keeps getting better. Thank you so much my new friend for posting this so all our brothers and sisters can dig this!
How many great under the radar bands were playing this kind of music in 1970? Manassas, Delaney and Bonnie, Dave Mason anything from Muscle Shoals or Memphis. Man it was so good and no one ever heard it.
Jo Dunaway I know this stuff too. Reason: We spent a lot of time reading album covers and interlinking groups. 70's-Most good music was underground, and you just kept connecting dots, to find good stuff. Some had 1-2 hits that got radio play--but most did not. They didnt play people like Hendrix, King Crimson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jefferson Airplane, Moody Blues or PInk Floyd, on the radio. It was all word of mouth. THEN maybe a radio station would pick up one of their songs.
I know about great groups from LA, San Fran, Boston, British Isles, Canda, and the Caribbean. What that means is that I don't know about African, Asian (the land that rhythm seemed to forget) and Easter Europe. Try some Krautrock if you like Floyd and Crimson. I also know Americana; gospel, jazz, the varying blues, country, bluegrass, folk. I teach music history Jo, but I am an antenna for sound waves. Not because I necessarily wanted to be but because I can't help myself. I am also a professional musician so some music makes my bones shake and my mind intent I give myself fully to it. Saying all of this, anyone can do this and my great experiences on YT bear that out. What happened after all the great music stopped being made is I got depressed. Then I discovered all of the great music already made that I had never heard. Sorry for too much info.:-P
No prob, Andy Wolf , I posted that question before I had talked to you and had checked you out more. Once a music lover, a music lover for life. Even though I don't work in the biz anymore, I've held onto my appreciation of it and of the great musical projects that were pulled off. Hey, even memories of some of the impromptu jams I witnessed were just a treat others never could share as they didn't make recordings of them, but they were fantastic.
Jo Dunaway One of my most fav impromptu concerts. Neil Young- Steven Stills-- Flo & Eddie of the Turtles-- ALL AS ONE BAND. Small UCLA gym. Sit on the gym floor show. Announced on the radio. Same day . Tickets for sale, when you got there. Prob 2000-2500 people. Easy to be up front. One night only. Not sure but about 1975. Probably $4 I know I paid $8.50 to see George Harrison at the Forum in 1974 up close..so it wasnt that much
Got here by accident-best mistake I made all week. Delaney and Bonnie -the original Buckingham /Nicks? Incomparable Allman, and (when he was with them) my favorite Clapton era

Just found this. Excellent. Tune and visuals really capture a time capsule of 1971. Exploration. They were also a nice asset to the Derick and the Dominoes tours.
This video includes some wonderful concert posters and album covers from the 70s. Great throwback to the 70s for artistic inspiration. Music is good too.
Wow this is my first intro to Delaney & Bonnie w/Duane Allman. What a special treat! Good Stuff here Mon! I dig it! Never, Never, stop learning. Social Media has really opened up my world to a whole new world of music and exploration 4 me. fantastic. Thank you Lord
Even for that brief moment, I would like to see Vanishing Point again. The Challenger wasn't bad either. LOL I love the visual editing for this video, as much as the nostalgic trip it took me on. The amount of names and faces that appear throughout this video staggers the imagination and thrills me to the very core. I'm 69, I experienced this era. We had our bad moments but music went a long way toward unifying us. Looking back, the greatest time of my life. At least technology can help me relive it.
I miss those days in the early 70's where artists would just get together and collaborate on something like this. We got some awful good music when they'd get out of their formulas and just play for the love of music.

Damn, look at that Mid West 3 day concert lineup, would have loved to have been there. It's crazy to think the people there had no idea just how huge most of those bands would be.
A relatively obscure Duanne studio session is his lead work on the New York singer/songwriter Laura Nyro's track 'Beads of Sweat' (1970) with Chuck Rainey on bass, Cornel Dupree on rhythm guitar, recorded at Muscle Shoals with the Swampers. Its fantastic.
Great to read some of your all posts. Yes I would have to agree these guys could JAM. And that the Tedeski Trucks Band has that same kind of energy. Will be seeing them for the 5th time in a little over a month from now. And since he just passed a week ago gotta say to another of a great family member of all of that stuff RIP Gregg Allman.

Great playing. I wish I was born 50 years ago....
all these badasses just hanging & playing no ego all music no wasted notes
The great pics make up for the sound quality....love it !!!
Yes, agree, those pictures ooze of the whole era (even for us who were not even born at the time). The sound is really very good though, of course it isn't always hi-fi (very packed sound image on some stretches) but it's rich and vibrant all the way.
damn, they had fun, and were all so talented. they performed, something that nobody does today that wasn't of our generation.
Music will never again be this great.
audrey papke All downhill since the mid to late 70s.
u nailed it. bicentennial year everything took a turn for the music companies, at the loss of the listener ;(
It's just so beautiful man!!!!
I saw Bonnie sing withe the ABB during the comeback Enlightened Rogues tour in "79! An Allman Sister!
fan fuckin tastic! Sittin around a campfire Listenen to this almost 50 years from its inception. Merry Christmas everyone!
Timothy Shearer I'm here listening Christmas eve 2017. Merry Christmas
I think the Tedeschi Trucks Band has the same sense of fun and musical adventure. And the Idea that Bobby Whitlock commented on this post is just mind blowing.....Thorn Tree in the Garden is the hidden gem of Layla
Yes, you are correct sir.
I Adore ' Thorn-Tree ',...So Did My Wife Maureen and Her Twin sister Marsha - We all loved it !....
- " Thorn Tree In The Garden " - ,...Bobby Whitlock , Eric Clapton , Jim Gordon and Carl Radle..The Crem De La Crem ! .-------- Truly a Stellar Collection of Artists ,....Then you hear the Story and see this Kick Ass Recording - and then Know, that the The Magic Began Much BEFORE>>> Eric, Bobby, Carl Jim and Guests ( The Bros Allman two of them ) morphed into Derek and The Domino's .. ....Thank you For The Share-! ....often times , the Soul and hipness lay in the Share ! Peace,.... Bonanno !
my favorite cut on the album
Joy is the one word to best describe hearing TTB live. They spread love and for 2 hours we can forget all the shit in the world.
They do a great version of "come in to my kitchen"(whatever it's title actually is
..forget which album
reminds me of the 70's in Macon...we used to go to Central City Park and hear these folks...and most of the other folks on Capricorn at the time.
or sometimes they'd come up to Piedmont Park in Atlanta or that little bar on Peachtree St between 10th and 11th - spring 1970
I’m insanely jealous!
Georgia On My Mind
This music is alive today in the Tedeshi Trucks Band. I do agree it doesn't get any better than this. TTB does similar music. Catch a show if you can.
The Kid is keeping the road rolling.
the similarity gives me goose bumps a sledge hammer could not flatten.
tp. are you their agent? too may posts about ttb [here's another! you must be a clever businessman]
Can't wait! 🎶🎵🔥💯🔥
Totally agree.
This is a great version of this song. Love it.
Tenor Saxophone- King Curtis
Curtis Ousley, who performed under the stage name King Curtis, was an American saxophone virtuoso known for rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, blues, funk and soul jazz. …
Check out King Curtis Live at The Fillmore. Then listen to Aretha Franklin at The Fillmore- both recorded the same night- K. Curtis plays all the way on both LPs.
Timothy Such IT WAS ATLANTIC. RECORDS RECORDING ARTISTS AT FRENCH'S IN HAYWARD CA.

b there or b square.
Teasin! .....
I have heard this four times tonight, it keeps getting better. Thank you so much my new friend for posting this so all our brothers and sisters can dig this!
The best ever ! Delaney and Bonnie kicked ass!
Nothing in Rock like the days when playing great meant everything .
How many great under the radar bands were playing this kind of music in 1970? Manassas, Delaney and Bonnie, Dave Mason anything from Muscle Shoals or Memphis. Man it was so good and no one ever heard it.
Andy Wolf , how come you know so much about these groups from Macon and Muscle Shoals? Your profile doesn't say much....lol
Probably $4 I know I paid $8.50 to see George Harrison at the Forum in 1974 up close..so it wasnt that much
Bonnie sang her ass off, and daughter Becka followed in her footsteps - check her out singing with Delbert! these people could freaking jam!
Bonnie is in a class by herself in my opinion
Doowah Diatribe
in the Delaney Bramlett universe of groove
Bonnie always sang get ass off. That's the only Bonnie I know...
Got here by accident-best mistake I made all week. Delaney and Bonnie -the original Buckingham /Nicks? Incomparable Allman, and (when he was with them) my favorite Clapton era
I'm an old boomer who once saw Delaney and Bonnie and Friends perform live. Their 'friends' that day included: Eric Clapton, and...John Lennon.
@@dyskover
I knew about Clapton, Allman, Hendrix, Harrison, Mason... I had no idea John Lennon played with D&B!
@@mlbloverock They were part of his backing band for one concert. They played two songs.
Good music sounds good... Great music sounds good and feels good .. This is somewhere above sounding and feeling good....Love it...
Due to my living under a rock for several decades I'd never heard this band before, nice!
God Bless ALL involved in making and sharing this essence of the BEST of ALL AMERICAN music of the apex of American music history..... Love you forever Bonnie... You too Delaney and FRIENDS............ A Dios... Spater
Only a few bars and we know it's Bonnie! Terrific!
Yes! and she (and most of the others) sound completely effortless, as if they were gigging in their living-room or at a playground!
I love King Curtis! Rest in Peace brother!
I Love this Version , all the Horns , Wow , I was only 5 Years old so I got the Hand me Downs and I had a few of these LP's , Thanks to UA-cam and Uploaders of Great content like this , We can sort of relive it :) QC
These Pics. are amazing !
Yippee! How my mind hasn't changed a lick....
I like this music:) I thank my uncle Alan for the Facebook post otherwise I would not have looked this up.
Thank you for this! Your Medicine is good, my friend.
chiefashley56 '.
LOL
I love the visual editing for this video, as much as the nostalgic trip it took me on.
The amount of names and faces that appear throughout this video staggers the imagination and thrills me to the very core. I'm 69, I experienced this era. We had our bad moments but music went a long way toward unifying us. Looking back, the greatest time of my life. At least technology can help me relive it.
Damn they could jam. Just about everybody that was anybody played with D&B including our beloved Jimi.
Oh, wow, man! Far out! I never knew they played together. Hear also good blues rock singer, Bekka Bramlett, Bonnies daughter.
Bonnie was great when she sang with the Allmans on tour starting in 78....Capitol Theater shows
Had this troika a little over a year earlier at school. Allmans opened up for D&B with Duane joining later.
Brutal!....historico!!!....vaya peña!!!.....acojonanteeeee!!!!!
I miss those days in the early 70's where artists would just get together and collaborate on something like this. We got some awful good music when they'd get out of their formulas and just play for the love of music.
yes, yes, yes......this sounds like that! i was thinking something like that, but i couldn't get the words right. this take sounds like pure magic happening :)
i swear i am so computer illiterate....i finally hit the 'bell' on my google page and i see that one person made a comment on my comment mb?? now i don't know what will happen if i hit 'post comment'. at any rate if whomever wants my email to say something it jrasulo@outlook.com. thanks
I am formulating as we don't speak.

I got to jam with Bonnie in Halifax Nova Scotia she was with Grinderswitch she was so nice...This is Awesome Sound, wow
thanks. love those southern bands. L S
Grinderswitch was such a fun band. I must have seen them a dozen times. Great guitar playing.
Grinderswitch...yea boy..them were fun times💜🤴
Grinderswitch was band made up of Allman Bros roadies saw them warm
Up Charlie Daniels and the Brothers at Jersey City
I saw them at The Fillmore East with Eric Clapton . The air was thick ! 😂
For some reason my comment was cut before I was Through!! Anyway, This show in its entirety is available! Not a BOOT, but an official release!! And this showcase of the enormous plethora of sweet Southern Rhythm & Blues as heard right here! It is the Official release! Tell your friends and fans of this music to go out and purchase this awesome CD!!!
What is the name of the CD?
ditto
Damn, look at that Mid West 3 day concert lineup, would have loved to have been there.
It's crazy to think the people there had no idea just how huge most of those bands would be.
After much searching it appears the monster bass is being played by Kenny Gradney....WoW!!!
of little feat
still playing with little feat...among others and as funky as ever
daskitten1 I could watch Kenny play all day. He was sooooo funky.
I read your comment just as I was wondering "Who the fuck is kicking that bass so damn sweet and good!". Thanks!! Love UA-cam for that.
Rock solid. Dude was and still is terrific.
I love Laura Nyro...will have to check that out! Thanks!
Laura Nyro in general is a best kept secret wrote a ton of good songs
Great to read some of your all posts. Yes I would have to agree these guys could JAM. And that the Tedeski Trucks Band has that same kind of energy. Will be seeing them for the 5th time in a little over a month from now. And since he just passed a week ago gotta say to another of a great family member of all of that stuff RIP Gregg Allman.
Miss the great music from the 60's and 70's.
The music from bar jukeboxes, even online, is mostly junk, sometimes sounding like a psycho ward. I have often walked out.
Sorry, but I HAVE GOT TO SAY, that this is brilliant...the video...with the music is an event. Not merely a video. You made it happen...just amazing....I am going to check out your channel....NOW.
Thank you. All a labor of love...
Oh, geez! I remember when this came out...oh, the Summer of the Hashish in NYC!
That Duane excavator pic is awesome
If I could have any role in musical history, I think I would like to be remembered akin to either Bonnie or Delaney Bramlet. They did cool stuff, always in the right groove at the right time with the right people. Just doggone cool.
Even cooler Bobby Whitlock has a comment on here!!!! One of the best also!!! Greetings to Bobby from east Ky!!!! Great singer and piano player, period!!!!!!!
Great song ...great harmonies ....
and, duane. wow . thanks for this post.
Very impressive collection, my man!!! Those are some rare items indeed!!!
What a great duet!!!
OMG Bonnie was such a peach and what a singer.
Saw her live in Austin about 15 some odd years ago and she was awesome up close. What a voice indeed.
Bonnie Rhythm and Soul!
