@MarcusRFilms same here!!!! Probably could've wrote that better haha I'm not complaining, just motivating myself to get started on UA-cam. I love sharing my work but not so good infront of a cam
I like how Condor Blue is considered “ mid level “ yikes. I have a bit of Condor Blue stuff, I love it. But in my eyes it’s high end AF!! Keep it all in hard cases. I’m down in the Neewer / small rig trenches. 😢
Haven't finished the video, but the Sirui lens shape in the silhoutte is so noticeable lol. Idk it could just be me, but I feel like their lens shape is like the notch for iPhones. The shape is so memorable.
If anyone wants some self-adhesive wraps that are way cheaper than those ridiculously priced f-stop ones, ULANZI makes some that are $10-15. I own a couple of the ULANZI and a handful of Domke and I much prefer the ULANZI.
Some info you left out. Peak Design tripod has a lifetime warranty so the two tripods you destroyed were probably replaced. Ulanzi is a 2 year warranty I believe. I own both and I like both but if you managed to destroy the PD tripod, your work will probably destroy any of these smaller tripods eventually and you wont be getting a new one from Ulanzi 5 years form now. I noticed that the carbon PD tripod doesnt flex and slide like the Ulanzi travel one does. I still like both for different reasons but I started to take the PD more often due to a stable feel unless its for video camera movement. Just wanted to point this out since these foreign brands tend to mail influencers free products and people are more prone to speak positive for brand deals.
Not so far. It’s a lot more sealed than a normal smoke machine, and I don’t think it’s going to spill unless something goes seriously wrong. Have only used it in interview situations so far and haven’t really beaten it up much, but so far no mess!
@@LucForsyth Awesome, I work in a dance studio, so quick and cheap way to add some smoke would make for fun video effects, as long as our floors are clean!
I’m using mainly the iFootage Spider Crab. It’s really well made, relatively affordable, and it’s been very reliable for me. Can hold up to 66lbs apparently, but I just use it with a mirrorless for the most part. It’s not what you’d see on a Hollywood set, and it’s far from the most premium out there, but for my needs it’s been perfect
This is the kind of gear video that I actually find valuable! =) Because it’s so much about practical considerations.
Thanks a lot!
The best thing for short term smoke/fog effects is an IWI smoke signaler.
Reason to start youtube: free gear 🫡
On god
Free gear “if” your channel takes off.
Benefits of hard work sharing experience for free. Sounds good to me

Kondor Blue gets my vote. I’ve got some of their accessories and they’re super nice.

I missed a sale on the old mc’s but seeing how much better the mc pros are makes me think it’s worth waiting for that instead
aputure announced the new Amaran Ace 25c /25x probably a way better deal if you don't need the whole case. gerald undone did a great video about them!

I second Ulanzi. I have one and it can come in handy to wrap a lens that you throw into a loose bag.
Calling smallrig cheap.... I've never felt so poor.
i cant even afford ulanzi at times 😭
informative video thanks Luc.
Having a hard time finding. The kondor base plate+v power supply combo
send me your leftovers, I'll review those lol
I wish I had a slider even a small one would do, not enough room in the budget haha !

Big thanks Luc!👏👏🙋♂
My pleasure!
How does the smoke machine's oil do on wood floors and your equipment? Any serious residue left over, or just clean up with a damp cloth?

Ty for your help!
Luc Forsyth, what car mount do you rely on? There are many car mounts available and I have to make up my mind.

@@LucForsyth -- many thanks. Do you think perhaps it would hold a Blackmagic 6K Pro with a hefty lens?
Love it… you want free gear? Start your own UA-cam channel 😂 Love your work Luc 👊🏻👍 Merci 🇨🇦
