I applaud Valve for choosing to prioritize optimization of the Deck instead of trying to push out new iterations with incremental upgrades to make money. This is the pro-consumer approach that all hardware manufacturers should be adopting.
Well, imagine if manufacturers are only refresh their hardware once in every 5 years.. than the 120Hz displays in phones still should be only the 1st crappy version what suck your battery extremly fast.. and LTPO 120Hz what was introduced by Apple just come in 2025-2026.. oh and because it's a brand new technology at that time, they should also charge more for it, instead of already manufacturing it for 3 years, so it's cheaper in each year, because more manufactured pieces also perfect the technology more, and also make cheaper in overall if the success chance is 100% instead of 75%..

Yup the other day I was having a look to see if there were any worthy upgrades to my CPU that I bought back in 2020, and I was shocked to see that AMD is still releasing new processors for AM4.
I'd only consider it support if they brought something that would increase performance or at least set a very good price (in other words release a meaningful upgrade or release new CPUs at cheaper prices). The last meaningful CPU releases for AM4 were the 5600-5800X3Ds. So no, I don't think AMD has been supporting AM4 for a while.

To be honest, I'm completely ok with the focus on efficiency when it comes to the CPUs. I can no longer use a CPU as a heater during winter, though, but I think it wins out in the long run if I get an iglo.

Just bought the 7800x3D. Had to put my build off a whole month because it wasn't in stock. I could have waited another 2-3 weeks but I hear the new CPU runs hotter and I don't want to have to buy a beefier cooler. Got the Noctua NH-U12S Redux so I don't have to worry about RAM clearance.

Given that the iPad mini is meant to be usable in either a vertical or horizontal position, it's not really accurate to say that the screen refreshes from left to right rather than top to bottom. That's only the case if you hold it vertically. If you hold it horizontally, then it's top to bottom (or bottom to top if you hold it the other way, I think).
But how many people realistically use it horizontally as their default? That's gonna be thing pretty much just when watching videos, because everything else for mobile like devices is optimized for vertical format...
