Enjoyed your video bro! Definitely subscribing. As for Stidham, I think he went to the perfect spot. Strong arm. Flashes everything you need to see from Accuracy-Zip. Certain things can be coached and tweaked and he can be exceptional. 3 year project. He’ll see plenty of time in preseason over the next few years which will be perfect.
I told all my colleagues at the beginning of last year season, "Don't be surprised if Stidham makes it to the NFL & become a bad ass quarterback" Now he has the opportunity to learn from the best ever. Auburn's problem is the coaching staff
As a Patriots fan, it would not be fair to NOT ride with Stidham just because he is a 4th rounder or was not a "top prospect", which is what everyone drools over. I remember when there was a debate about who should start in the 2001 Super Bowl. A lot of people wanted Bledsoe because Brady was just a "6th rounder". Not saying Stidham is the next Brady, but give him a shot... especially under BB. Game manager is all we need, just like Brady was his 1st year.
I'm a big auburn fan so i watched all of their games. Sometimes he refused to step up in the pocket and deliver because he knew he was going to get his chin split. That O-line helped make him a third rounder. I feel like you can see his paranoia in some of his throws maybe that just me idk. Great videos Zac keep em coming. 1:15 can we talk about that ball placement?, being rushed, back in his own end zone, and it looked like he wanted to throw it out, but it was almost a catch, bill must be feeling good
I came to watch this now that Stidham is the next man up in NE. He had a full yr under Brady which is great, but with a lack of offensive weapons and a leaky O-Line, is he really in a spot to succeed? Maybe Harry takes a step forward, the stable of RBs that can catch will help. He has a very good OC and hopefully some more young talent in the draft. Maybe if they get a TE and one more WR but that’ll help any QB. But hey the Pats aren’t going to be very good in 2020 so why not just give this kid a shot? I know the fans are used to winning but in all reality this kid is going to get a pass all year long so just run him out there and let’s see what we get. Even top QB prospects need to get on the field before you know what you have. Look at all the highly drafted QBs that never panned out. You just never know.
Also he WAS considered a 1st rd talent after his 2017 season which is why its important to watch his 2017 tape as well. Remember he beat GA and Bama (only team to beat both of em) please watch his 2017 tape but i agree he needs to sit behind flacco for a year or 2
I was thinking about this fact. So what changed from 2017 to 2018? Did Auburn lose too much talent to the league? Did they change their offense or Offensive Coordinator?
It is amazing to me how, compared to even ten years ago, and especially at the qb position, players are expected to produce NOW! I know their is no “ off-season” and most college players are usually progressed past their contemporaries of ten-fifteen years ago, but it is NOT a horrible situation to have to wait on a good player to catch-up. Some, MOST of the quality NFL qbs sucked right off the bat. And other than being way wrong about Haskins, again, excellent video young man!
You are DEAD ON about those dropped passes. Watching Auburn this past season, I even said it many times how his receivers were hurting his draft status. lol
Seems like pro scouts have good things to say about this kid - there is an article on Bleacher Report that is pretty interesting; Brady wasn't a first round pick or anything even regarded as special - Bill picked Brady for reasons only Bill knows but he wasn't wrong
Sitting behind Brady and learning from the goat will prepare him tremendously!@ stidham can def be a good qb. Maybe even great. See how his work ethic is. I'm happy with the Pat's picking him up.
Stidham definitely improved in Pre season games with the Patriots. A lot of his good passes that was catch was in tight coverage. It doesn't mean he's ready yet but with Brady gone these OTAS and preseason games will be the most important of his football career.
Got our Jimmy G back. Don't worry Stidham. Pats have the best OL Coach in history & a OL that kept Brady clean the entire Playoffs. Plus great WRs. Everything you need! Come get that ring!
Auburn fan: absolutely. The offense was poorly coached and motivated. WR's could not catch to save their lives. And the worst part was that it wasted an awesome defense (not elite, but top 10).
When I watched him in he senior bowl I had big concerns about his pocket presence. If I remember correctly, there were 2 plays where he was oblivious to pressure that he should have felt. One of those plays results in the bad turnover.
I like Stidham a lot, watching this film analysis he just looks a lot like Ryan Tannehill. Not a great arm, but enough to get the ball where it needs to go, mobile enough to make some plays with his feet, and smart on his reads.
A guy that makes good decisions and knows his offense will keep you in a game. Alex Smith made a long career out of not throwing interceptions and getting his best playmakers in the best matchups. Alex Smith forces you to beat him. Alex Smith almost never beats himself. Surround him with good players and you'll be in the playoff hunt. Stidham has an ok arm that with some coaching could make NFL throws. He'll go 18 for 25 with 280ish yards and 1 or 2 td passes. His yearly interception total will be in the low or mid teens. Give him decent defensive help and you can win like that.
As an Auburn fan, many of us have wanted to see our system evolve into that of a NFL caliber offense. Stidham was a good QB, but Malzahn has a tendency to go after what’s the best talent he can get and not necessarily what’s the best talent for his system. His game against Georgia in the regular season of 2017 was a good one. War Eagle, Mr. Stidham! I hope you got to learn from Brady and get to continue your growth from arguably the GOAT NFL coach (and no, I’m not a Patriots fan).
I'm not too hopeful. He seems like he's gun-shy, for one thing - bails out too early, looks down to soon. Another problem is his delivery isn't classic, seems there's a little bit of push in that motion. But years of watching Brady will spoil you.
Jack B. Nimble As an auburn fan id just like to say that in 2018 he did bail out to early and check down or throw balls away too quickly. he panicked because he was always being pressured and getting hit several times a game. He didnt have a single nfl caliber lineman in front of him last year but if you look at 2017 when they went on a title run his completion percentage was the highest in the SEC and he took down both the National champion and runner up that year. (Not to mention barely lost to clemson after getting sacked no joke 11 times in the season opener)
It's hard. I believe you need to look at the 2017 season. That year, he didn't have an emergency alarm constantly going off in the back of his mind. Last season, had he hung in the pocket like he did in 2017, he'd have been injured all year long and probably wouldn't have played half the season. That offensive line we had last year was just awful dude. The 2017 Auburn team is a better analog as far as the talent level goes relative to the team's he will be playing against.....and he's going to the patriots. If there's a team that can make success for a guy like stidham, it's new england. And I know it's not the only reason you draft a guy, but there's not s player who has EVER been drafted that has a better attitude. Last year, he got knocked on his ass every 4th or 5th play it seemed like and guy still gave the effort. I think he'll be a solid, solid backup at least.
2017 season alone could have been the reason the patriots took him. Like you said he has a great attitude an seems like he is willing to learn. Even though he didnt fit the auburn offense, im so glad he picked us. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!!!
Looks like he has his head on a swivel. I guess he had to with that offensive line, LOL. Also, seems to throw a good ball and I like his release. Nice review man!
Mr. Shomler, where do you rank Jarrett Stidham among Auburn 's quarterback in the past 10 years? Did you ever do an analysis on Jason Campbell, Cam Newton or Nick Marshall?
He is a new england style qb but when you pair him with no run game no o line and hes a qb who cant get a ball in a tight window but new england receivers have least seperation and 2nd most drops
That throw at 3:45, terrible. Dude could not have been more wide open, he was literally 15 yards open. I know Auburn didn't do him a lot of favors in 2018, but that play was one huge favor that he missed. That's the thing, he didn't do himself a lot of favors in 2018. The team didn't help him, but he didn't help the team much either. You also didn't mention his bad scrambling. Against Mississippi State there was a play where he had a clean pocket, and he scrambled straight into his LT, and basically sacked himself.
Auburn wasn’t as awful as you claim they were last year. Stidham was the reason Auburn lost to both Mississippi State and Tennessee. Any pressure and he crumbles. He needs a lot of coaching and has to have weapons to succeed. Won’t do much without those things. And this is coming from someone who watched every game of Stidham’s auburn career live
Noah Richards I don’t think he’s ready yet. I do think he’s the best option the pats have right now. I hope he takes over like how Steve Young took over for Joe Montana
Will see what Bellichick does with the QB position, I doubt he puts Hoyer in as starter. I wonder if New England will go after Jacob Eason and have them compete
1st round QB = you EXPECT them to be a solid starting caliber QB
3rd round QB = you THINK they could be a starting caliber QB
Nars A said it better than I did👏🏻👏🏻

I’d give him 2 yrs to develop and grow. If only there was an NFL D-league.......
your analysis shows me that if brady continues to play and new england decides to keep stidham around, he could be a solid player in the future.
Looks like he has his head on a swivel. I guess he had to with that offensive line, LOL. Also, seems to throw a good ball and I like his release. Nice review man!
I'd love to see you do a film analysis of how or if Will Hastings will fit with the Patriots and Stidham!!!
Mr. Shomler, where do you rank Jarrett Stidham among Auburn 's quarterback in the past 10 years? Did you ever do an analysis on Jason Campbell, Cam Newton or Nick Marshall?
I loved him coming into that draft.
Love the videos 👍🏻 you gonna do one on Easton Stick? I’m curious about him, comes from a good program
Should have never left Baylor, they've got hands all over the field, he would have a better resume.
As an auburn fan a lot of this is really true but his receivers got better throughout the year and his o-line but they got better.
didn’t you just have 20k last week? damn you growing fast
Tennessee game was lost because Coach Malzan was so predictable Tennessee knew what plays were going to be called BEFORE the snap.
Now that he’s sat behind Tom Brady do you think he’s ready to take over the patriots offense?
Noah Richards I don’t think he’s ready yet. I do think he’s the best option the pats have right now. I hope he takes over like how Steve Young took over for Joe Montana
Will see what Bellichick does with the QB position, I doubt he puts Hoyer in as starter. I wonder if New England will go after Jacob Eason and have them compete

He's got no choice now but I think he's more of a pocket QB than Jimmy...
he’s got a real “i’m gonna play for the jets” name
Man your sub count shot up like 1021% I think when I subbed you were like under 5000 or way less
That film of dropped passes needs to have music like from the Benny Hill Show.
And boom here We are folks
I think he’d fit new England’s regime
Wouldn't any quarterback
Whelp, he's there.
@@GRNKRBY we will see soon enough
Interesting to see Darius Slayton dropping those td passes after the rookie season he had. I wonder what changed?
Patriots, apparently agree with you too...
Hopefully he's good at cheating
