So I have had these terrible headlights in long enough. Not only do the headlights look bad but the bulbs needed to be upgraded aswell. I wanted to install some led headlights and upgrade the lighting on this thing. In this video we are installing all new led lights on the Z71 Tahoe. I also show you how to aim your headlights. After doing this I think its one of the single best modifications for your Tahoe or any vehicle for that matter. Hit the comments and let me know what you think....

I'm changing mine out on my 2005 Tahoe today. Great video, thanks. It helped me very much. Looks so much better, makes the Tahoe look 10 years newer.
Thank you
THANK YOU for being the only Chevy/GM owner on UA-cam who correctly installed AND adjusted their lights! Going to give you a pro tip since you did such a great job: Unplug your passenger side Low beam and verify which wire is ground. Now switch on your High beams. Check for continuity on the ground wire back to the battery. If it's no longer grounding then do this! Splice into that Low beam ground and connect the newly spliced in wire to ground somewhere on the truck. Either back to the battery ground or frame etc. Now your low beams on both sides will stay on when you switch to High beams! Keep up the great videos!
Thank you for the tip
Great job, man. Thanks for showing us how to adjust the headlights correctly. My '05 Hoe needs adjusting also, now there's no excuse not doing it. Keep the Tahoe projects going.
Thank you. Glad it will help.
Looking good, was interested in upgrade for my 04 TAHOE AND NOW I AM READY TO GO. THANKS FOR THE DEMO !
Glad I could help
Huge improvement. I have to do mine. LEDs make a huge difference.
Thank you. It is life changing better.
Just changed all my lights front and bac, now it's time for interior led lights

Adjusting the headlights was very informative. Awesome stuff. Looks way better
Thank you.
Great video man. The tahoe looking 🔥🔥
Thank you. Getting closer
Truck looks good (makes me miss mine). Your the only one that will ever notice the silicone. Thanks for the love at the end. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. Silicone drives me crazy lol. Thanks for the pictures
Lights look great. Really changed the look of the Tahoe.
Thank you Kyle. Its so much better at night now.
My friend you are much more patient than I am... I would have thrown them out in the street. End product looks great. Worth the effort. Thanks for your help.
Thank you. It does take some patience
Such a big difference and looks ALOT better. Great video
Thank you Frank. I love it at night now.
I’m changing mine on my Chevy Z71 Suburban, thanks to you.
Absolutely looks much better. Bang per buck improvement for sure. Thanks for sharing. I know I'm late to the party but better late then never. One love.
Thank you
Enjoying your video's, very informative and thanks for taking the steps on how to.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Just came across your videos for Z71 now I can work on my Z71 Tahoe upgrade everything awesome video
Thank you. Hopefully the videos help you
Amazing video I did my Silverado a few months ago I will be turning my lights and get another set 👍👍💯💯
Thank you
Outstanding! Really well done and very helpful.
Thank you. Glad I could help
I have LEDs from the headlights to the license plate on my Trailblazer. Love'em🥰. Some real nice rides at the end of this video 💯👍🏿
Definitely brighter
I ordered my headlight housing from Spyder which I really like. The biggest selling point for me was that fact that those horizontal lines going across the lens are not there. It's a totally clear housing which I always wanted. As for your "puddle lights". I did the led conversion on those but mangled one as it was so brittle it fell apart when I removed it. What sucks is that I can't find it separate without buying the entire side mirror.
Interesting on the housing. I will check that out. Yeah I was nervous pulling that old plastic out of the mirror lol
Looks nice I had a 2001 chevy silverado and to me was one of the easiest headlights to work on,but the new ones now that's a different story lol
Thank you. The aftermarkets are not that bad but do need a lot of adjustments
Awesome video man i just started replacing all the light in my 02 silverado with leds and my headlight replacement has a metal shield in the housing so can’t use them but this is the second of your vids that i came across lol
Thank you
Thank you very much for sharing this video!
Looks really nice thx for the video
Thank you
Thank u for showing me how to change my interior light in my 2005 tahoe it didn't even take me long 💯💯💯 got all my led lights in 🤙🏾🤙🏾
Glad it helped
@@TWAMotorsports yes it did awesome work u do keep it coming 💯💯💯
Good job and insightful, thanks!
Thank you
AWSOME
Huge Difference
Hope you’ll be able to put out a video for the fog lamps...
Keepem comin👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you. I will update with the fog lights.
Great video, I will do my headlights led. So cool. Az Tahoe love.
Thank you
nice lights looks really good
Thank you. I love them
@@TWAMotorsports no prob
Awesome videos... how do I adjust headlights on aftermarket headlight assembly? It has two dial disc type of knobs on the headlight ssf itself.? Any help. Thanks.
If you bought the good replacements it's just like stock.
I have the beam tech and they work really good not a fan of the “fan” in the back led bulb
Yeah beamtechs are good. I just chose these because the beam pattern was a little more focused
Good job. I will do this to my Tahoe.
Thank you. You will love it.
Turned out gr8 bro.. big diff should become a standard in every car trk and suv out there...
Thank you. I agree that every car needs them.
Definitely going to be doing this to my tahoe.
It's worth it to me.
Travis,
I am planning on getting some smoked headlights for my tahoe. I was wondering what brand you like best and the best way to keep water out of them?
I was planning on silicone caulking and strip caulking the housing. Then I was going to use di electric grease on the contacts as well as some silicone around the bulb holes. Do you think this will keep water out?
I honestly don't know what brand is best for smoked. Silicone would definitely help though
Nice! I will be replacing mine aswell 👍👍
Thank you. Its definitely worth the money
Thanks for the video man! Can you explain where I can find the exact bulbs you used please?
Link in video description
I used a Novita LM487 flasher on Amazon. It's a lighting control module that replaces the stock lighting control module under the dash. I had problems with my blinkers working so I replaced it and it worked. Then later on I installed led taillights and other lights. I have no issue on my Tahoe with hyperflash now. Part is $54 on Amazon.
I have seen that. I may have to try it.
@@TWAMotorsports I have an 04 YukonXL same basic thing and looking into that as well. I also have a Ford Ranger that I did a full LED swap by changing the blinker unit to one rate for LEDs. On my 03 Ford it's been perfect.
@@TWAMotorsportsI did that too years ago and works fine.
I did not changed the tail lights has if you use non resistors loaded bulbs, your cruise control will not work anymore.
@tomjoad1363 👍
Nice job ! You plan on doing an exhaust on the Tahoe or just keep it stock?
Thank you. I'm keeping the exhaust stock. I like it quiet. I have other cars to be loud in.
Love grey sweatpants season!!!!
Keeps me warm lol
Whats up bro great cool stuff, im doing the same thing with your parts list on my 03 big body burban z71. Did u find the proper l.e.d for the fog lights .please send link. Thanks
Used same brand
What you did , looks 100% better!
Thank you
You can use a led flasher for your blinkers no resistors needed. No problems on my 2000 and 2001 Silverado.
I have seen that but will use these for now.
Definitely looks a lot better from the front end, plan on doing any audio upgrades?
Thank you. I do plan to do a radio at least.
Great Video man, I used an electronic adjustable flasher instead of a load equalizer when I went with LED's on the T/A. They work awesome and I use ot to control how fast I want my rear sequential's to work.
EDIT: Going to pick a set of them LED Bulbs for my brights and dims on my 01 Silverado
Thank you. I have seen that flasher option. You will love them. SO Much better at night.
Same here for my `00 Tahoe. They work great!
Looking good 💯
Thank you
@@TWAMotorsports u welcome hey I took off my racks from my Yukon I like the view..pretty kool.👍
@@eldelagmc1341 nice. They look better that way
Looks good man, give us an update on those fogs. What brand are the ones under the mirror. I need those, never mind I see u got the link up there.
Thank you. Update on fogs coming Thursday
Would you recommend these lightening farm led lights for my 2006 tahoe or should I go with something different? These look like good bulbs for the money.
Pretty good for the money
Travis nice job... I'm going to go with the Land Rover style Halo lights and Grill and my name is Travis as well... Keep up the good work
Thank you. I looked at hundreds of lights I feel like and finally decided on these. Cool we have the same name
Where do you find the paint match for color matching the grille and front bumper etc?
Local parts store
I did it on my yukon. Looking for fog light bulbs too
Buy a matching brand and color
Which headlight assembly did you buy? I bought new ones but my leds don't fit because the assembly doesn't have turn clock wise
The ones I listed are the ones I bought. Link in description.
'04 Tahoe ZR1 here. My driveway is fairly sloped, so getting a proper alignment your way seems out. However, suppose I use my current lights to mark the alignment spots. Would this work?
It may work
We’re the puddle light lenses cloudy at all? If so do you have any tips on cleaning them up?
They are a little. Could try some light compound on a rag.
Hello Sir,
I wanted to know if you had a solution to keep the lights from collecting water inside them?
These haven't yet but not sure 100% way to keep them dry
I've got a 99 Sierra 2500 thinking about doing the same upgrade. I am sure you said it in the video but I missed it. What clear lenses were those and what was the cost?
Link is in the video description actually
What led headlight bulbs would you recommend that don’t get to hot? I bought some and they are getting way to hot, so hot that I believe later on down the road I believe it would melt or damage my housing.
I like lasfit on a budget
Great video
Thank you
when you put the leds in did u put them vertical or horizontal in the housing?
Bulb instructions should say. Some say one some the other
When you installed the mirror lights did it effect your turn signals at all?
No it didn't
Do yoy have to use resistors on the led running lights and tyrn signals ?
No
When you say up and down... are you referring to the led diodes facing up and down? Or the housing up and down with the diodes on the side?
Diodes
Looks sweet to me. Now do you have any idea's on upgrading fog lights on a 99 ss f-body?
Thank you. I would recommend these same lights on a fbody(bulbs I mean)
@@TWAMotorsports Thanks
@@alexandermcdole8464 you're welcome
Do you have any videos with the daytime running lights? Mine dont seem to come on. I put new LEDs and fuses and still nothing.
I don't unfortunately
hey my man love the vids! i own a 06 gmc denali you kno a good source for parts online im tryhing to replace allot of the oem parts and allot of the auto parts stores dont really have what i need.
Thank you. As for parts a lot of my truck I have used replacement parts and I link them in the description. You might check out some of those videos.
Great video. Please make a update on the fog light when they come in
Thank you. I will for sure do that
Awesome video but after having my headlights out at least two dozen time for different reasons I still cannot figure out why you would have to pull the grill.
You don't have to. I did to change all the lights
In Virginia, you can get ticketed for no front orange side markers. I cleared out my 97 Burb and it looked so great and I was pulled over by a state trooper
Some states are harsher than others
What Beamtech size did you use for the foglight replacement?
I made a link in description
I have a 2 finger gap between my top headlight and grille on both sides. Any tips???
Could be the housing or may need adjustment
Now that looks good on a white toho
Thank you
Even if you seal the bottom housing it will still collect water especially if you live in a humid location. What actually works is to drill small holes in the bottom of each section and the inside will stay dry.
Thanks for that info
Hey bro when you're adjusting the lights does it move the whole actual headlight because my left headlight is kind of up
Generally yes
What aftermarket grille insert is in that? I'd like to get one.
Not sure. Came with it
Great videos Travis, keep up the good work. I have a question tho, if I want to upgrade all my headlights (low/daytime/high) and fogs and brake light (including the 3rd brake light) and dome lights inside my 04 Suburban to led, will I have to get a resistor or will it be fine to upgrade all those lights ?
Thank you. No resistance needed unless you do turn signals
@@TWAMotorsports ohh alright so only if I decide to turn my signals to led then cool thank you Travis ! 👍
What’s a resistor? I just ordered LED turn signals
You will have hyper flash
What are your rim size and your tires size ? They do so much better than the factory 16" one i have.
Link in the video description
Can ground the low beam ground to the truck and it will keep the lows on with the highs makes a huge difference did it in my 2000 Silverado and love it should have came that way from the factory
Thanks you for that. I have had a lot of people suggest that mod.
hello wahzuh, sick build. How has this held lit for a year? no flickering?
Seem to have been great but I no longer own it.
i’m very late on this but i just got a tahoe & was wondering but are the adjustments necessary or is that because your tahoe had aftermarket headlights?
Yes I adjust them in the video
TWA Motorsports Thanks!
Very sharp looking. What wheel set up are you running. It looks clean with stocks.
Thank you. Wheel is GMC Sierra Wheel. All parts including wheels are in the description.
TWA Motorsports thank you. I guess I could have checked that lol my bad. Love your truck looks good. Keep up the good work.
@@The1971chevy thank you
That's what's up Brother i have a 03 Chevrolet Suburban l.e.d's front side n reverse very cool.
Thank you
You could just use an electronic flasher. That’s what I did with my Silverado to get LED switchbacks without hyper flashing.
Yeah I have seen those but I guess I will use this for now. Thanks for the ideas though
Updates on the lights? Still recommend them ?after a month on the Tahoe ?
Yes so far so good. Lights are holding up so far
Is there a way to program my truck(00 Silverado) to turn the DRLs and tails on when I unlock the truck?
Don't believe so
I can’t find a 194 led to fit in my marker light hole, it tops out on the sense and won’t twist in.2006 Silverado.
194 lasfit. Check out my 2006 Silverado video I posted new head light video on a few weeks ago. Link in that video description
Why take the grill out on a 99 02 but I have never seen the junkie come headlight on the diver's side to ever line up good on the inside
This is a 03
are there also any for a chevy van?
Not sure
So we all know how great your headlights look now with led but how's the actual functionality ? Is it giving you a good quality beam of useful light?
Actually not bad for the price
What year is your tahoe? I have a 05 and can’t find those leds that will fit.
2003
I have an 05 escalade. The guy at autozone told me i need LEDs with resistor packs to do my front end lights or itll throw service codes. Anyone have advice! Btw gorgeous tahoe, love the 800s!
Never throw codes. Typical autozone employees lol
@@TWAMotorsports i figured lol. I wanted to double check before i spend the $. Did my DRLs last year and that was a huge improvement
I understand that
Man U got that Tahoe looking right
Thank you
I have the same leds and I can’t aim them correctly how did u do it there is a screw in the center under the rubber grommet but can’t turn the led around ?
Should be able to unscrew and rotate
@@TWAMotorsports I tried and it was glued on and now the black part is outta wack 🤣 but I gotta yo fit straight just forced it now I just have a weird pattern of light
So, after having these awhile, how are your thoughts about the housings and your choice of lights? I'm ordering stuff now and would appreciate you advice. Thanks!
I like both. The headlights are great. Housings for turn signals are so so.
TWA Motorsports How about the LED bulbs? There’s so many out there and the price range is nuts. Thanks for your reply, your videos are helpful!
I like them and had no issues
TWA Motorsports thanks for your input, just picked up a 2002 Suburban that needs all these little up grades. Again, thanks for taking the time to document all these issues. Great vids!
Thank you for the compliments
i saw your video on the tail lights whete did you get those
I linked them in video description
I replaced my headlights on my 2003 Tahoe and there was a gap between the bottom of the headlight and the grill. I used the Akkon. Not crazy about that gap and not sure how to fix it.
Some housings just don't fit well
@@TWAMotorsports I may have to buy another set; hopefully ones that fit better.
Thanks.
Hopefully
You could’ve ran switchbacks for the turn signals and the led tails online have built in resistors you would’ve been good regardless
I looked at switchbacks but guess I will use this for now.
Does a yukon rear bumper fit on a tahoe?.. i hate the chrome bumper and wan to go all white also..always awesome videos 💯💯💯
It does
@@TWAMotorsports yeah i changed it already... thanks!👍
Nice
These side mirrors how can i get them with lights under
Buy from a salvage yard or order new
if you look at the light under the mirror you will see a tab which you can push in and the use a small screwdriver to pry the oppossite side loose, one tab is at the front side and one at the rear of the light opposite side of the tab, NO need to pry at the front.
Some dialelectric grease is your best friend on bulb installation!!!!
I agree. I need to use some.
Great vids, Tahoe looks great. I did the interior lights in my 03 Suburban a few years ago. My only problem is that the map lights don't go bright until I open and shut the glove box. Did I just get the wrong kind of lights?
Thank you. That is common. You can add resistors but I didn't
