@@dashautorepair yeah, tried to use the existing sticker, but it looked like crap….so new sticker it was and I liked the way you molded the new one into the meter, nice clean look. Put on mulching blades, will probably go with the arm rests, then I’m done. Nice mower, very happy with it!!
Bought my cub cadet Ultima z1 zero turn mower 42 at tractor supply and was there today n they have complete oil change kit for 69.99 will be getting a few of them to stock up on them oil, filter, fuel filter, nair filter
I have "Lo Oil Pres" issue with my brand new Cub Cadet ZT1 54. I bought a MTD hour meter from Amazon that was supposed to fit a BUNCH of different mowers, and was plug and play. Looks just like the Cub Cadet part too. Install was easy and when I started the mower up it was flashing "Lo Oil Pres." I shut the mower back off, and being a mechanic I went to trying to figure out the issue. First thing I did was remove the oil pressure sensor, this sits right above the oil filter on the Kohler 7000, and I bumped the engine over but didn't allow it to start. When I did this, oil came out of the hole for the sensor. This told me there was nothing mechanically wrong with the engine. I put the sensor back in and got my volt meter. The way the sensors work, is when pressure is applied to a diaphragm, a switch is made up and a circuit is made up to ground. With the engine off I had an open circuit, and with the engine ruining I had continuity to ground. This told me the switch was good. I then tested the same thing at the plug for the hour/service meter. Once again I had an open circuit with the engine off, and ground with the engine running. This told me the wiring harness isn't the issue either. The only thing left in the entire circuit is the hour meter itself. The Cub Cadet part is back ordered, so I'll just run the MTD part until the Cub Cadet one arrives. It's possible it isn't really compatible with my mower and Amazon lied that it was.
Yep, that is what I am thinking.. currently the hour meter is still installed on the machine in the video(I got rid of it to a neighbor). He uses it weekly without issues. He loves it, I hope you will be able to get the part soon. good luck!
That is something I wish it did. However I used the mower for 5 hours prior to this installation and unfortunately those hours did not convert to the meter. All in all, simple install and it shows battery voltage upon startup. Wish they came with the mowers by default. Good luck out there!
The way to set the hrs if you buy the meter after using the mower is simple. Let's say you have 8 hrs on the mower then you install the meter. Simply turn the key to the on position and watch the meter until it reads 8 hrs. Don't forget to unplug the lights or you will have a dead battery.
Hello. I have same mower and engine. Mine is hard to start. Cold or hot. Cranks and runs briefly with choke on. Dies immediately after pushing choke closed. Do you have any starting issues?
I do not have any start issues with the mower. My cub cadet has 25 hours on it now. Not a single problem. I’m thinking from what you are saying, that there is an issue with your carb. Bad gas could be stuck in the carb/float, and will be cleaned, drained and replaced with fresh gas. Good luck out there!
Bro I agree… it’s awful and a very cheap skirt from the manufacturer.. For me, I just wanted to get a better idea for my situation. Unfortunately, this is something that can easily be abused..
Just installed my hour meter on my ZT1 46”, using your vid as a guide! Great job, thank you, installation was a breeze!!
Thank you sir! Glad it helped. I will have more videos on a couple more attachments coming up soon!

Fantastic video on how to install the hour meter. Thank you so much.

Guess I know where I’m headed tomorrow

I suppose that is why I haven't received my meter from cub cadet. It's been a few weeks since I ordered it.
@@TheCrxx yeah, they back ordered big time.

@@dashautorepair part came in last week but havent gotten to it due to birth of a child. Probably take care of that this afternoon when it cools off.
Excellent, so it knows how many hrs are on machine if I put meter on later than when it was brand new? Thanks

I bought mine at Home Depot in 2019. It came with the hour meter.@@dashautorepair

For as much as these cost and seeing it’s already wired for it why they just wouldn’t throw on there
I agree, minuscule amount to provide transparency. Got to love it. Lol
all u had to do was use a box cutter that’s what i did 😂
Now that would just be too easy. LOL
This is so bad. You could literally buy a mower with 500 hours on it and the meter was just installed and it said 20 or 30

One could achieve the same result by simply replacing the originally installed meter after 500 hours.
Pretty dumb that it's not standard
I agree, such a cheap part...
