    Great video! Any way to make it mandatory for all new fisherman to Alaska to watch this say on the airplane? Would be a great public service. The only comment I have is that the rubber core tend to roll and twist, the egg sinker rolls around the line and you get fewer line twist and the hook doesn't twist in the current, so better hook-ups I have found.

      Yeah I hate the rubber core. I only use them if I hook them up off the bottom of the river and then I use them because they're free. I never buy them.... My buddies like the split shot, but I get irritated when they pop off, so I use the egg weights...... Also people should learn the egg loop knot. It's much quicker easier to tie.... Then just put a loop of yarn in the loop and pull tight and you're done.....I tie mine right on the river and it takes me about a minute to do the whole rig from start to finish, but I've been doing this almost 30 years....

    palomar knot works fine also, i find it stronger than a uniknot

      Not with monofilament or fluorocarbon.
