I’m 77 years old and living, with much enthusiasm, vicariously through you guys. I’ve recently found you, so am watching hours of back story Love your family and the hard work you do. Those children, in bare feet, are wonderful❤
Great outdoor sink for cleaning the garden produce. 🥕 Love that T-shirt Ben you really suit the green. You always have your littlest shadow in the background. 😊
You all have done a Magnificent job in just one year on the homestead. The Animals are healthy and well, and the the Garden.. Oh my gosh, it is going crazy. I an so happy has all come together so soon. I like how the pigs find things you didn't know were there.
Omg! Another video so soon! Thank you for sharing and not making us wait! Yay!
“Good mawn’n modern steaders”. You blew my mind for just a second. I love Lumnah Acres too.
Love the ‘safe house’ idea. I’ve got lots of chickens of various ages, that will work for them.
👍👍👍💙💜❤️
Thanks so much for sharing. I applaud your lifestyle (and am cheering you on), but I am too old to do what you are doing. I could watch a daily tour of the animals and garden. Your commitment gives me hope. I appreciate the extra effort you make by hauling a camera around with you. it makes my day!
Seems like your posting more videos now that's awesome
One tidbit for advice if you leave the trees slightly taller when you cut them they will sprout and the next rotation the animals will eat the coppiced top and brush against the tree trunk to scratch themselves. Eventually this’ll help loosen the stump to be pulled out a lot easier.
Good morning modern 'steaders 😆 i love the Lumnahs
Animals are lookin great!
Good Morning Ol' Smokey Ben! Thanks for the tour and explanations again. Nice to see the growth of everything.
Love what you guys are doing. I'm a Native North Carolinian, and I think it's awesome to know that so many homesteaders has chosen NC. By the way I think it would be a great idea to let the meat chickens out of the tractor and just keep them in the fence. They've grown so much it seems crowded.
You're such a good animal dad, I was out my water container too. It can get slimmy after awhile, I wouldn't want to drink out of it. I love how you care for your animals.
Ben the farm is looking great! Love the new sheep pigs! LOL
Hello from New Zealand. First post from me though I have enjoyed watching your lives unfold since you found your property, and watched most of the previous ones. Great to see your enthusiasm. We did a similar thing over 50 years ago, sold up our possessions and moved to another country. We had twins too, but we stopped at 4. Blessings on you all.❤️❤️
everything is beautifully growing bigger and stronger. thanks for sharing your story, I Pray you all have a good week.
That's a good idea a safe box !!!! Oh wow !!!!!
Bubbles, and Lamb Chop....great names. Your back property where Ben, and the pigs cleared is ideal property. I can't get over how much work y'all have done to your place. Dreams do come true! Keep on keeping on. Hugs to y'all.
Thanks for the tour. LOVE the path way. I am so glad for you that you are living your DREAMS. PRAYING for you all. 7 SHALOM CHOW. Chuck
So glad to see you say that if you cant drink from it neither can your animals. I follow that same kinda value.
Love that u clean the animal water . I do the same thing for my chickens I wash their water out too. I hate them to have dirty water and dirt water dish
The animals looks so good! I always marvel at hpw much you all have done in such a short time.
Those new pigs are the Kobe of pork! I think your very wise to start breeding those...could be a reall $$ maker for y’all’s homestead. Love getting another vlog so soon! You guys are my favorite to watch..blessings from western NC🙏🏻💖
Love to see your "shadow" in the past few videos. What great bonding and teaching without even knowing that is happening.
What your pigs have done is amazing.
The shirt you're wearing is from where I'm from. Beautiful place to be from.
Mackinac Island is one of my favorite places in the U.S.! So gorgeous and peaceful!
I love upper Michigan and Mackinac Island. I grew up fishing in the UP. Every year we went to the island. Three years ago I took my grandkids. We hit all the good places. The Mystery Spot, Ship Wreck museum, the lighthouses and of course the shore of Lake Superior for Lake Superior rocks. You grew up in an awesome area.
Agree! We live in the Upper Peninsula 😊
I like your system of moving the different animals around. Love that outside sink you hooked up! Cool color shirt too. 👍🏻👚
Can't wait to hear all about these new pigs
Love seeing your animals and of course you and your family. About cleaning the waterers, my wife just loudly agreed.
I think they are beautiful. I love the noise the bigger pigs make.
I am so glad to see that you are a very good steward of the critters. Such a great amount of work for all of you. These years will be looked back as some wonderful times for you all. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. I am in my late 60's and have some good memories on my grammas farm. Keep up the good work and take good care of one another. Bless you sweetie.
Ah, the turkeys. Love them. So enjoying the older videos and catching up.
Hi Ben and family, the way Weed em and Reap harvest the Mulberry tree is lay down a tarp and shake the tree if you like to eat them. It just happens to be Danelle s favorite.
Very nice , the animals look Great!
Thanks for the tour 👋to Meg and the Boys.
JO JO IN VT 💕😄
In stressful times like these, it's so nice to relax and enjoy all the homesteader videos.
Enjoy the video# you share...thank you! God bless y’all and stay safe and healthy!
Ben, you are a hoot. I love you and your family. You are so talented you remind me of my dad, able to do anything.
Life on the farm. Love it! Never thought I would miss it, but ironic how we see things differently as we age. Would not have changed being raised on a farm for anything. Some of my favorite memories.
Yeah, where DO all the buckets go?! I'm forever 'looking for the bucket.'
There are never enough buckets....except in winter.
Wherever the socks are
Exactly, buckets and scoops.
I love their curly hair 🥰🥰. They are so cute 😋
Grab my tea and enjoy this! Greetings as always from Sweden
Yay! More videos 😁
Love you folks.
Animals are looking awesome! I love all the different chickens that you have.keep up the good work!
Perkins R great pets! I had 2 Donald & Daisy they was sooo AWESOME 😁
Omg I love his idea of being a good steward, people pick on me for my chickens “luxurious abode” but to me it is just right to care for them well, happy chickens lay better eggs imho!
BEN: "Don't get attached!"
ALSO BEN: "Are you my turkey friend?!"
LOL
Love it, LOL.
@@dixsigns17175
Ben turkey's are friends not food. lol rofl
Lmao i picked up on that too. How sweet :)
Heheee
Love that outside sink Ben & yes you’re a very good Stewart
Yes, with keeping things clean for the animals. So happy to see that. And didn't see the work sink you have out there. Smart. Bubbles and Lambchop are so pretty. Love their pointy snouts.
Your homestead is really coming together. The chickens 🐓 are growing good and healthy. The 🐖 really do a good job of clearing the brush and opening it up. The other two 🐖 are funny looking. They look like giant opossum, lol!! You have done a fantastic job with the homestead. It doesn’t look look like the same place when you first got it. I love ❤️ your videos. Keep making them and I will keep watching. Luv you guys from Alabama
Sometimes its just the small things that make you standout as a great family... like I loved your comment about cleaning the water feeders... its your attitude that makes you great.
Your woods look like a perfect place to raise goats especially a meat type goat like a Boer or Kiko
Cog Hill Farms has a beautiful Turkey also, Thomas. ima survivor has a beautiful Turkey that is brown color that is stunning. I agree with you turkeys are awesome.
Everything is looking good guys🥰💐🌷
All the animals look great. The Turkeys seem friendly. Never raised Turkeys. Great Video. You all have a great night. God Bless Y'all.
Great find on the utility tub! I need to replace mine and was floored by the prices!
My Great Grandparents had an outdoor sink on the old Farmhouse. Fantastic place to clean everything up...hands, buckets, food.
I’ve been watching Lumnah Acres for several years . In the last two days I’ve heard both you and Justin Rhodes mention them. It’s great that you are all connected by UA-cam. Love your channel.
Garden tour next? Yea! Then maybe mobile home progress or Meg cooking up your freshly grown produce? Or building that new coop and/or tractor? So many possibilities.
I often how many homesteaders know each other. You all have so much to contribute. Good job on the animals. Those new pigs almost look like wild pigs with a perm.
I really liked it when one of the boys said that the chickens had bad manners. Lol ....when you walked by the u haul I noticed it said Stowe on it that's in our back yard ...just down the road. You're right the new pigs do look like possums.
Moooornig Modern steaders!!!😂😂😂- Kristy in Missouri 😃
That's Al Lumnah's saying from Lumnah Acres !! Lol
💖
You've been watching Al and Gina I hear..lol
@@jonabriggs8829 oh it is? None of us knew that.
Love that you clean the water container for the chickens
I Love seeing all the animals. Keeping It Dutch has a full grown turkey that acts like a "dog", he follows all the people around wherever his people go!! He is so funny and so pretty. When his people get too far away from him he starts running really fast to get to them. I had no idea turkeys could run that fast!!! You need to get a small fenced area that you and he kids can get in and really see how really friendly your little turkeys will be and turkeys love to eat bugs!
I love Dutch's turkey "Abe"! He loves attention!

Everything looks terrific....love the birds and I love the pigs...
Good morning beautiful homesteaders in North Carolina from us in Australia. I was so excited & pleasantly surprised to wake up to another vlog so soon after the other YAY!!! It's almost painful waiting for you guys to vlog cos I found you, binge-watched every video I could find & got totally addicted to your adventure - then you stopped aaaggghhhh!! Super super cool to see how well you are all doing, including your 'bump' lol. Thank you & Bless!! PS: No pressure, no, no, really ;)) x
We’re trying! Just really really busy right now!
@@Bennybob01 Why? 4 1/2 kids, new homestead (ish), plenty animals hahaha, I'm sorry it's just that it's winter in Australia & I get a bit bored & NEED some Ben & Meg in my day xx
Love Lumnah Acres. I said that one time, instead of saying "gooood morning modern steaders". He said "Gooood morning beautiful people" I thought it was a shout out to you guys. Oh, I almost forgot. If you make a smoker for the Rhodes, can you film it? I'd love to see your metal skills Ben. I know that's your wheelhouse. I'd love to see you forge a knife too. Great content!
Totally agree!
As would I.
I fourth that motion! Would enjoy seeing metal crafting!
He has such talent, would love to see more of that content and Meg and her soap making
Gooooood morning modern steaders... Hello beautiful people... I bless you

Yall are doing such an amazing job in such a short amount of time! Before you know it your little one will be here.
"Thanks Chuck!" "He's a good guy!" Don't know why, but that was really funny. There's gotta be some Hollar Homestead merch involving Chuck!
Al is an icon.Gina and Olivia are lovely. They brought me here to you and I love watching homesteading... I'm in Colorado no homesteading.
You guys are the best! Just so you know... lots of folks like the personality of the Turkey! They are sweet! When you guys hit 100,000. You should do a long video to celebrate! I enjoy seeing the kindness with which you treat the animals and one another! Our Lord likes kindness to all creatures... have a wonderful week, also... I have been praying for a little girl... just for something new... we will see what happens... many blessings!:-)!
Blessing Abound!
Everything looks good. Love the new pigs
I just started watching different homesteading videos. I just came across yours and watched this one. Please don't get me wrong because i know nothing about raising chickens but your feeder chickens and ducks are in such a small mobile coop for so many. You said they are nothing special just for food but you said you wanted them to have a good life. Just from watching a few other homesteaders they have big grazing areas for them and they have a separate place for the ducks which to me if you had a large fenced area for them all would be sufficient enough. I know nothing on homesteading other than watching other videos so please don't take this wrong you guys are awesome and doing a great job. Garden looks awesome and i am loving your hairy pigs.
You have a good point and I’ll do my best to answer. We keep them in the tractors for protection from the owls and hawks. We’ve talked about just letting them run around in a fenced area but the problem is they have been too small and could easily just walk through the netting and now they are bigger we could probably let them out without worrying about them escaping but we still have hawks to deal with during the day and these things don’t watch for anything but food. We are still in the beginning stages and this is our first run of meat birds I’m sure we will improve as time goes on. Hope that kinda addresses you’re thoughts.
Could you get a guard goose, or do they need to be raised with the flock they are guarding to be effective?
Your doing a good job, Ben. God speed
That was so funny...you had me for a sec i was like “wait, what?” Thanks Al!!! 🤣
Lol! That was too funny! Love Lumnah Acres also!
Great video Ben. Thank you!
I am from overseas and i did have Mangalia beautiful pigs..very good meet.
Oh my gosh....spider! Arrrgh! Can not stand to have them on me!(this is an understatement) 😊
Loved hearing your plans
I love it when you share the cost info too! Thanks for that! The last video you did with the meat cost was very informative!!!
Love Ben in the green shirt!!🤣🤣
Everything looks great! it will be nice to have chickens and ducks in the freezer too
Ben build a sump with a discharge pump in your barn. You’ll really love it.
Great to see how you're using the animals. I can't wait to have my own and work through it myself! Cheers and God bless!!!
Good to see your sons following your footsteps happy early father s day ! Somewhat like my dad most men spend there life looking for paradise he taught me how to build it ❤️🙏👨🏼🌾
Your homestead is coming along beautifully. All the animals look very healthy and happy. I am looking forward to more videos on your progress with the house. The new pigs are undoubtedly the strangest pigs I have ever seen. I was surprised when you said the hair was very course. It really does come across looking like wool. It will be interesting to see what their babies look like when that comes to pass. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Turkey is my favorite food! When I was growing up in Kings Mountain NC, our elementary school cafeteria ladies, cooked us means made from scratch. Boy could they cook some good old southern food. We had it made. However my favorite was when we had Turkey & Dressing, with rice and giblet gravy. Oh my! You're going to have some really nice Turkey for Thanksgiving and beyond! The 😊🦃🦃🦃
I love your families' plans for the future. Something to look forward to. Enjoying it. Thank you.
I think it's so funny I'm from Sault Sainte Marie Mi and you have on a Mackinac Island shirt on
Loved a tour of all the animals and the good job they're doing for the land! Can't wait for you to discuss more about the curly-haired pigs! Are they a new breed in America? I've never seen them before, so I look forward to learn about them. They are so strange looking! BTW, it's great having a new vid just a few days after the last one! I really miss those almost daily vids you used to do.
Looking really great! So many happy critters on all that land, YOUR land! Everything is so green and fresh, I wonder if you all pinch yourselves when you think of what you were dreaming of when you first left Cali.
It's a great find to have all those food trees randomly in your tree stand. I have a 3' mulberry tree I'm hoping to get big enough for great eating.
The boys are getting tall!.
Very interesting tour! Thanks❤️
The turkey a-frame is awesome looking.
Awww! That's one happy Ben! Please, please, show us happy Ben again when he's eatin' them birds!
Animals looking good. Pasture n garden looking good. Love the turkeys too..wanna grow a few too.
All's well on the Hollars Homestead. Bubbles and friend has really settled down fast. Best way to do it. Good is way to their hearts lol. The pasture Pigs are Killin it as far as clearing and tilling for you. Their also a bunch of chubbies lol. All the Chickens looking good. Looks like Chuck been working real hard lol Might have to get those girls some wings so he quits making them Bald lol. You can find those wing things on Amazon they work real good also. They don't hamper them from doing their thing just him from over Breeding them. Homestead going along just fine. So happy for next all. God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️🙏❣️
Love how you take care of your animals. "You wouldn't drink out of it, it's not fair that your animals drink out of it."
For you information, I went and read up on the Mangalitsa pig. Very interesting. From what I read, they are the best for the fat that they have, and their meat is much tastier. The one msn that describes them says they are a very tough pig, can take the cold very well. He says they’re even tougher than Chuck Norris....lol 😂. So I’m looking forward to your adventures with them. Hope Meg I’d doing well with her pregnancy, and I’m looking forward to the new addition to your family. Good luck, stay safe...and God Bless. 🤗🙏🏻🤣🐖🐖
Looks like you have some muscadine vines in the pig paddock Good for you!! They make a really good jam, and you can even try winemaking. it's a real blessing to have them on your property!! According to Ashley Cobb, clinical dietician at WakeMed, muscadines are especially high in the antioxidants resveratrol and ellagic acid. ... “Muscadines are also fat-free, high in fiber, low in sodium and an excellent source of manganese - they're a perfect addition to a healthy diet!” said Cobb.
We found a utlity sink with full set up-faucet, pipes with p-trap, for $25 new! Bought it a month before we closed on our land. Awesome find!
