You all make me smile. Please always remember that when cranky people post negative things. Ignore them, that’s what they hate.
I am an almost 68 year old retired Hospice nurse. I have bad arthritis which prevents me from gardening as I would like. I do can and freeze sauces, beans, soups. So I live watch you youngins thrive

Have you tried moringa? It's great for arthritis. There's a video on UA-cam about it. Also eliminating grains and sugar helps big time. I used to have a bit of a time going down my stairs until I eliminated sugar our of my diet. I still eat sweet things, they're just made with Pyure and stevia.

Seriously get on a boron supplement temporary high dose, search for article "boron benefit ""health conditions improved naturally with boron" "Dr Rex E. Newman". Per him most arthritis clears up naturally. Populations studies re amount of boron in soils corresponds to amount of arthritis in a population/country. I started with 16 mgs for about 2 months then have taken a maintenance dose of 8 mg per day for maybe 4+ years. I read that average diet in Israel supplies about 30mg per day, so I felt safe experiemnting with this a food supplementation. I am on no medications just superfoods and nutrient supplements.I'm 75 with zero arthritis. If I feel a twinge, its usually cause I forgot to take it, get back on everyday and even that disappears. Also read up on Maca for older women. Its been a huge benefit for me as well taking about 5 years on and off. Just need more zinc to counter balance the copper in it. I love watching this family too, I'm a passionate gardener myself. If I was younger I would homestead. Also learn about moringa.

As much as I'd LOOOOOOVE to see videos every day, I really enjoy your multiple day format that you've gone to. I hope it suits your family a little better as renovating a home, growing food, growing children, hatching chickens and Meg's pregnancy is quite a bit to manage on its own, let alone squeezing in camera time.

Anyone who dares pursue it further, send 'em up North to the Mitt & we'll 'splain it to 'em like they're six. It looks like Fred is missing a very important component. He should have a heavy flat bar pinned through the slot in the back. That bar will help with 2 things. First it will help to control how much Fred wants to pull away from you. And the deeper that bar is placed in the tilled soil, the deeper Fred will till. If he didn't come with one I'm sure you can make one. There should be pictures on the Internet of that bar (tiller drag stake / depth bar) which is usually cut at an angle at the bottom (long end of the cut angle goes towards the tiller)

Before they can think about being cranky. Remember this to shall pass. Gods in charge. Not us little people. So smile. And those of you that think my life is rosey. Think again. My hubby has been layed off for 3 weeks now. And he just had to have emergency eye surgery a week ago. Torn retina. So now he cant lift or bend over till it heals. So we cant even get the hunny do list done while he's off work. Oh and my mom is in an assisted living home and has been on lock down for 4 1/2 weeks now. So I cant see her. And she has terminal lung cancer and weeks to live. Talk about a bad time for this plandemic. If I can smile, you can smile.😁😷😁 smile behind the mask, people can see it in your eyes.

You can put newspapers down, find old hay, ya want hay and old, plant your garden, put the newspaper down between the rows after planting, pile high with the old hay, water the hay to settle it, it will almost disappear, help your soil, just work it into the soil in the spring

You are such brilliant parents. Your boys are learning so much more than the academic side of life. The joy on Megs face was so sweet and the look on Ben's face when he looks at her and the boys is beautiful. Stay safe and well beautiful family.

Hi folks, great job on the developing homestead!
Just sending you an FYI... It looks like you are missing the drag bar for the back of your rototiller.
It should be attached to the bar that comes out the back. It's what drags the front end down, adjustable for depth control. Probably why you aren't getting any depth AND will help you from getting beat up and having to muscle it to work for you. You have the skills and tools to make one, google it you'll see what I mean. ;)

Ahahaha while watching this, at the part where Meg sees the chicks and has so much excitement and enthusiasm my husband looked at me, raised his eyebrows, and said "friend of yours?"
I *might* get pretty excited about new chicks, too.
You are such an encouragement to me. Keep up the great (hard) work!

Looks like a man with a plan, in regards to the floor. Not only do you keep it safe, you are keeping the debris amounts more controlled and not so overwhelming to clear and clean up each time. Good job!
Exciting to see the baby chicks.

We have a Fred!! He looks exactly the same and sounds just like yours. He always surges like he's out of gas but he is a powerhouse and has worked for us for the last 17 years. Love hearing him...lol! We are stuck in Florida by the virus and can't get back to Indiana to plant and work my gardens so I am planting seeds in egg shells, sprouting vegetables and lettuces in tubs of dirt. Trying to plant and grow where we are. (We are also rehabbing mobile home #2 to live in next winter. So glad to see you working piecemeal on the floor. It's the safest way to go. God bless y'all and the new chickey babies and the new Hollar baby. Be well!!
