It’s not really one of the worlds rarest cameras, it’s a special edition but it’s still a q2. A rare camera would be like the Leica 0 series or hasselblad space camera

The thing is Leica actually sells a leather wrap cloth but you have to buy it separate when they could use it to wrap the camera instead for the package experience

So what film does it use? Is it type 135 either 24x36mm images or a bigger 4x4 or 6x6 cm roll as used for professional photos? Camera looks too small for 6x9.
It’s pretty, but I bet it doesn’t work any better than the “regular” version.
My thoughts: I thought you were going to keep opening boxes, as they got smaller and smaller, and you'd need a magnifying glass to look at the final camera sitting in a tiny box.

Cool collab between Hodinkee and Leica but I still prefer the stealth black of my Leica Q2. The Ghost white color is still nice tho.

Looks similar to the earlier some car brand version of M, with a 35mm f1.4 asph with a hood similar to the 50mm f1.4 asph. Anyway, they are amazing looking cameras, but I still prefer everything in black.

There's a long list of terrible things I'd do for that camera.
I mean, it looks nice. Definitely would want to use a camera not have it sit on a shelf. Because that’s where this camera will be…on a shelf away from being scratched. Leica just reminds me too much of being the Louis Vuitton of cameras. Just ridiculously overpriced. Before anyone goes “bUt yoU dOnT uNderStaNd the LeiCa eXperIenCe” how can you “experience” something that averages over $6k for even the most basic cameras in their system?

It’s not rare. It’s limited. There is a difference. The difference is that rare means that there might have been a small market so they only made a small amount or there might have been a lot, but several have been destroyed and therefore there are only a few left. What Leica is doing here is making a limited run of this camera, which is sometimes known as artificial rarity. Companies that are known for selling expensive equipment do this so that they can have a more expensive piece of equipment because it’s now a limited number of that piece available. They’re going to sell this camera for higher than they would normally sell a camera because it’s now rare so to speak. I know these are things that sometimes become rare over time because of the artificial rarity at release and I know you do things that sometimes go for a lot higher prices than they were originally released for years later because of that as well, but I think it’s important to actually check the product first do you research and see if it’s actually a good product. Is this actually a good camera or is it just a meh mediocre camera? I specifically like Samsung NX cameras. They were mass market, consumer cameras, but they have managed to retain their value overtime unlike other companies such as Canon and Nikon and Sony, although Sony does tend to retain their value better than any other currently existing camera manufacturer. So I like Samsung cameras and that means I have to pay the Samsung camera price because they retain their value, although many models can be found at lower prices below $500 and that’s good and that’s what I look for. Good deals. My point is that this might not be a good deal because they’ve jacked up the price because they’ve artificially limited the number of cameras available. I don’t know. I haven’t heard anything about this camera and I don’t know if it’s actually a good camera or if it’s just a mediocre camera, but my phone is like it is well known for making good stuff which means they can get away with making something that may not be the best but claiming it’s rare, we only made 160 total and that’s all we’re ever going to make, and therefore we’ve jacked up the prices because we know at least 160 people will buy them because there’s going to be a mass market that won’t be able to buy them and the first 160 to come get them which is called artificial rarity, also known as rare on release. The Samsung cameras that I like are not rare they’re actually really good quality cameras and that’s why they retain their value. And over price camera like this if it happens to be a mediocre piece of junk is going to drop in value as soon as that person buys it from the manufacturer, which in this case is Leica cameras?
@Phillip Banes The point I was on about was that a limited run of a product can be good or bad. A company that’s willing to build a great product even though it’s incredibly expensive can be good. It’s because that great product may cost a lot but you will be really glad you bought it. Making a limited run of a mediocre product and making it cost a lot is unethical and causes dumb people to think it’s better than it really is simply because it’s expensive. Artificial rarity of a shitty camera can go both ways it’s either really good and expensive to make or it’s shitty so they may not want to make to many but still charging a premium price for a shitty product might make people think it’s better than it really is. Limiting how many are made creates the race to get one before it runs out. This mediocre camera seems like it’s limited to created the race to get one first and it seems expensive because it’s limited. It’s shitty for the buyers especially because it’s a shitty camera. They payed way to much for a shitty camera because it’s a limited run.
