@cali gdp technically what you hear out of a engine is the last 3rd of the competition stroke when the lsa(lobe separation angle ) of the cam overlap and bolth intake and exhaust valve is open at the same time thus creating draw to help fill the next cylinder......try again

My Silverado on 315/75/16 A/T's probably could've gone up that hill. Momentum, ground clearance, and RPMs are your friend in mud. Even mud tires aren't going to help much if you load them up and fight the ruts
He may have done better if he picked a route and smashed that throttle to keep them boggers free of mud. I used to smash on my k5 it had a built small block but it's the same theory lol. But I understand if he babys his Chevy.
Seemed like an odd line to take. You'd think if he'd have run the ruts and kept the tire speed up so the Boggers could clean out, that rig would have made it. Of course when you have a guy standing in the road I guess you'd not want to keep in the throttle. Who calls a rutted up muddy road "extreme off road" ? If that's extreme, then every country kid in the US has done lots of Extreme off road in all manner of rigs.
