Hi Rachel Farrow! Check the knee pedal bracket that the knee lever is connected to. In the space between the bracket and the wood wall, there should be a foot pedal. Let me know what you find please?! Thank you for this great question Rachel Farrow.
@@JebbAdams wow thanks so much for getting back to me so quick! No foot pedal as far as I can see. I unscrewed the case the motor is in and it looks like this - ibb.co/mHD1V8D
@@rachelfarrow3106 Oh dear! I am not going to be much help right away. I am going to look at that image you sent. I am not familiar with that "portable" type of knee lever. I was thinking the machine was in stand-up furniture! Ooops!
@@JebbAdams haha - that's okay! It seems to be puzzling a lot of people and I've been trying to research online but it doesn't seem a very common machine. Any help or advice you have is greatly appreciated :)
@@rachelfarrow3106 Good morning Rachel! 306's are wonderful machines but they are a bit of a challenge to maintain & restore. I will message you here if I find something useful. The best thing is for me to do is to start playing with the 306k again. The hook & bobbin case needs to be replaced in "Denis" the train wreck 306k! Another nice thing about Singer 306K owners, is that they are patient people! We have no choice! Lol! Having said all that they are a lot of fun to work on because they are 'one of a kind"! Thanks for your good humour, Rachel! Peace!
HELLO MARY DEIGNAN! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR INQUIRY! THE MACHINES AND I APPRECIATE YOU SUBSCRIBING TO THE CHANNEL! GREETINGS AND WELCOME!! IS IT WORTH BUYING A 306K? I HAVE 4 OF THEM, LOL! SO YES! HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO WORK ON? I'LL TRY TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE. THE TOP IS ONLY PARTIALLY OPEN AFTER YOU REMOVE THE COVER. NO BIG DEAL. IT HAS A METAL/CLOTH CLEATED BELT. NO BIG DEAL, JUST SAYING. THE STITCH LENGTH LEVER/NEEDLE POSITION DEVICE SEEMS TO BE A SEALED OR LOCKED UNIT. I AM GOING TO BE ATTEMPTING TO OPEN ONE UP SOON. THERE IS A SEALED BEARING IN IT. I AM STUDYING THAT ISSUE RIGHT NOW, (WHEN I MAKE TIME). RESTORER'S ARE SUPPOSED TO TAKE THINGS APART; FIX THEM, CLEAN THEM AND REPLACE THEM. . SO IN CONCLUSION: MY PERSONAL ADVICE IS BUY IT AFTER INSPECTING IT TO MAKE SURE OF THE MACHINES CONDITION. INSPECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRING. THESE MACHINES WERE BUILT IN THE EARLY 1950'S SO THEY ARE NEARLY 70 YEARS OLD! THIS APPLIES TO ANY VINTAGE MACHINE. I HOPE I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION SUFFICIENTLY. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN MARY!
Hi Jebb, I have a beautiful 306k that has a knee pedal. Do you have a video or any advice you could give me on replacing it with a foot pedal?

Hi Jebb, I'm new to your channel. Is it worth buying a 306K? How difficult is it to work on?
