Operation Olive Branch - grassroots campaign. direct donations to vetted and verified families via GoFundMe, e-sims, perinatal care, etc. Not a very user friendly site, main details are a spreadsheet with multiple tabs, one of which being a list of over 800 families you can sponsor. People I trust personally know families that have gotten out this way.

@@Hanna-e8b History shows there is and has always been an ongoing war somewhere in the world. We have to focus on the children, and yes you are right, education is key in all this. We are fully aware of the awful war in your country, not far from me, however the children need us adults, regardless of what side of the war/conflict they grow up in.

Good to see you! Thought of you when I was in Valence (spelling? across riverfront Tui, Spain) Portugal walking the Portuguese Camino. Met a young American man living in Porto who worked... Dang, can't remember. I think it was on tug boats. To my surprise, it was something like 3 months on, and then some time off. (I would have guessed it was a 9 -5 job. I should have asked more questions.)
Well, as I said, he lives in Porto. On his time off, he'd been reading a book in which the camino was frequently mentioned. So, he ups and packs his backpack and starts walking! He wasn't going to Santiago de Compostela, only Tui. Like you, he's done loads of traveling.
Seems like a ni e life - if you discount all that crazy weather you experience!
