I live in Trenton, a neighboring town to riverview and I’m extremely excited to see this railroad crossing back in action! Also could you give the link to the video of the train derailment, cause I can’t find it anywhere
Its a shame old bent cantilevers with the inverted signs were removed, but they didnt seem like they would last too long. Either way its good to see the spur and crossing active for rail service
Well, only time will tell. I just wish that other crossing would work again. Because I like that crossing. As for this one, I'm happy it got a makeover.
Beware of abandoned crossings...this is a true story. When I moved-out, the drive to/from my parent's house included a stretch of road through an industrial area just north of the Los Angeles harbor area with a grade-level crossing. For more than a year, there never was a train or any hint of one on that particular track. One day, the lights were on and I was hoping to see a train. After creeping-up to the crossing, no train, so I went on. This went on for over a YEAR...lights flashing, but no train. I thought about calling it in, but instead wanted to see if someone else would call it in, but of course nobody did. So I'm heading home one dark night and of course the lights were flashing as usual (remember, they had been going 24/7 for over a year now..), and as usual I was conditioned to just blow it off without stopping. Except this time, there was a truck that was stopped, so I thought I better slow down. Good thing I did, because I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting a long string of tank cars. The story doesn't end here....not only did the signal no longer flash 24/7, I never saw another train there again.
Thats what I was saying to my family, Then my dad pointed out that they put a crossing up a few miles down the road now too, Wonder if they're gonna put a line thru again? @@Damon810Railfan

3.5s were first seen in Australia so it’s probably a 3 e-bell

Is this activated by the train, or is it manually operated?
I'm not sure, by the train most likely
@@Damon810RailfanI have a question do you have social media like Facebook or discord or Snapchat

Wait what???
You see the one on King rd has been repaved?
yeah, which is odd, since the tracks don't even exist anymore lol
But I guess they only did it because the old grade was insanely rough

The old canelevers were probably broke after sitting disconnected for 10 years and they were probably about 60 to 70 years old
