  • April 9-11 2021, the City had RailWorks Track Services, Inc. replace the rail road crossing of Nash Road and the City’s rail road spur servicing the Nash Road Industrial Park area. The repairs improved the deteriorating conditions of the roadway crossing, and provided a much smoother driving surface. Thanks to Blake Kiefner for this cool time lapse video that shows you the hard work that went into removing and replacing the rail and roadway - rain or shine! It was an inconvenient but necessary improvement to this industrial district and we thank neighboring businesses and commuters for their patience! The project was made possible by Transportation Trust Fund 5 Safety Improvement Funds.

Bravo for providing an Excellent Video that Informs and Entertains. Rare to find Time-lapse Videos showing a Project from Start to Finish. Videos like this can be stored in the Archives to be used later for other purposes.

Isn’t this track unused or rarely used? Cus judging how grassy or old those rails look, it’s like the train nearby my house rarely coming by with the tracks in BARELY good condition.

I think these guys were here to just replace the road segment and nothing else. I believe things that involve tampering with the crossing units (adding gates, bells, etc) would be up to the railroad.

I was thinking they were going to add gates and replace the one light tower. Looks like its seen its better days. It was flopping all over in the wind. This is only a spur too. My god. That was alot of work for a spur. But i guess they have nothing better to do

Not in my town, they just put down soft asphalt and it last months not years. Like saying I don't give a crap about my country, penny pinch everything.

All that for a flippin' rail spur? Most railroads wouldn't even do that on a mainline that crosses a 4-lane 55MPH highway.

This doesn't feel like a heavily trafficked enough line or road to justify this.
