i feel like the dlc makes things really easy because you have over 1000 hours on the game. I believe that, yes, it made more easy to build a good run, but for the majority of players, RoR2 is still a pretty challenging game. i dont think this should be addressed. in terms of new dlc, i really think gearbox is going to release something, but if we get something in 2024 i'll be surprised.
I agree! If Disputed Origin wants things to be challenging like pre-SotV, he can just disable DLC content. Any new DLC shouldn't cater to someone who's cracked at the game and has played for thousands of hours. I for one am very glad from the increased options that the DLC provides.
As someone who's put in a ton of hours into Armageddon attempts, bandit is a solid choice. Being able to kill off aggro and stun with his utility is big, the guaranteed crits on back hits is massive for early run boss kills, and his execute on special is just good
About the dlc making the game far too easy I honestly think you've simply hit a point of mastery where you know basically all about it and no matter what the base game throws you can easily just win. The ammount of hours you've put into it simply makes it seem piss easy. However, as an average Joe with less than 200 hours in the game, I can assure you the game still shits on you just as hard, if not more. With around 200 hours I can barely get a monsoon win ever 3-5 runs. And yeah, it can be said that it's just a skill issue, but that's my point, the game stays brutal for a really long time. 200 hours is a really long time and I can't even think about getting into eclipse. Now, the void items do make things easier, safer spaces makes mythrix piss easy and plasma shrimp is almost a free win. But sit down a new player and do you know how fucking terryfilying it is to see a corrupted greater wisp? Legendary items seem like a blessing that happens once a run. Blind pests are a runk killer if there are more than 3. What I'm trying to say is the difficulty is all still there, ror2 has *such a long learning period* it almost always remains challangeing. The game is the perfect hot sauce that is *really spicy* but god damn do you want another drop like the filthy masochist you are. The thing is, you've drak the hotsauce so many times you can essentially chug the whole thing without flinching. Honestly could've probably just said that from the beggining.
armaggedon is cool and all, it's pretty challenging to be sure, but in my opinion, despite not being statistically harder, inferno is WAY more difficult since it changes a lot of the mechanics that we've become so used to when it comes to enemies now all we need is stacking eclipse modifiers on top of inferno
