Chase, just a tip for UA-cam vids. Add the music at the beginning, end, and during transitions, but not while you’re speaking. It’s really hard to focus on what you’re saying when you have music competing. I understand the dramatic effect, but that’s why using it in transitions is so important, you get that desired effect after you’ve said something important and the listener can focus in on your words while you’re speaking them. Let the music subconsciously layer that message in when you have the music playing following an important concept.
Absolutely opposite for me and other people who are poor auditory processors. The music is vital and helpful to me to KEEP focused on his words. Patrick Bet David also uses soft music in the background of his podcasts. It’s the only way I can listen without losing focus and having to restart the video ( or even fall asleep! ) People are different (!)
I have the same issue as you; i think it's about our brains as individuals. I do find it too much information and i have to work hard to keep listening. I had to stop at around 4 minutes and will watch short bits over the next day or two to get to the end.
By phone, I had to convince the shelter adoption facilitator using the correct language and confidence to allow me to adopt a Belgian Malinois, I have high drive dog experience. But I finally got my Malinois, a 14-month-old rescue, a female called Maxi. She was adopted twice and each time immediately returned within a few days or less, chalk it up to human stupidity. Not a working line dog, but she's ball/food driven, let the training begin! Failure is not an option.
I tried this to get out of my lease- which i had valid reasons to break. But, i knew this would help me persuade the manager who may be stuck in his own script. It worked. The minute i changed my script, his tone changed. Now i have a bed to return. It's 2 weeks past the trial. I will try this again. Cross my fingers. Thank you for this value.
I’m an information sponge. My supervisor used to call me a fountain of useless trivia. I really have to push myself against my own worst instincts in order to finish a task. I need to order your materials.

Oh, the doctors office script is how Clinique works. The name if the product, and the white coat worn by the beauty sales staff.... people still to this day associate the brand as medical. But formula wise, no different than a cosmetic oil and water emulsion.

If you lived your life in a manner that was kind to others your life wasn’t wasted no matter what your job was or what you knew. If you lived it in a acquisitive manner and that’s what your focus was without thought for or kindness to others you have to play catch up.
Don't compare yourself to others. I am almost 60 years do a job that pays the bills, it's too late to start over. However I chose to volunteer for a few hours a week in an area I like (soup run for homeless) and this is the thing that holds meaning and worth for me. The best bunch of people who give their time that I have ever met.
I love the infomercial story! Couple of questions: 1. Why are some people more susceptible to the steps you described than others? 2. Did your dad remember that fishing lure story?
Wow I remember that lore. I remember that commercial. My opinion the lores are made to catch the beginner and amateur fisher more than the fish. Flashy colors, neon, radiant, that glow affect. That laser multi color it’s not for the fish because they have no cash 🤣
So this has me thinking with my adhd and others with it. Do we have trouble doing what we are supposed to be doing (ie follow the script) because we notice the smallest change in a sound, lighting, how our clothes feel, etc. So our brain says hey that is different you need to pay attention focus there. OR because we take in so much in, it is hard for our brains to hone in on a script? OR a little of both? I mean sure there are a few things I go into autopilot mode, but not many. There are tons of examples where I will get into a habit of doing something I will follow this for several months even. Then something happens (illness, something breaks, etc) and I will suddenly stop doing this "habit" It literally is like the app/script is deleted from my brain.
Brilliant video, as ever. I also wanted to thank you. I am currently going through the Ellipsis Manual, that I picked up mainly by curiosity, and it really helped me changing the way I speak/look/approach people and it already made a world of difference. I started picking up the signals I was sending through my body language etc and modifying it. There's a noticeable difference on how people speak/carry on with me. I didn't think it could make a big difference and I am glad to say that I was absolutely wrong. So thank you again for all you do.
