Chase, just a tip for UA-cam vids. Add the music at the beginning, end, and during transitions, but not while you’re speaking. It’s really hard to focus on what you’re saying when you have music competing. I understand the dramatic effect, but that’s why using it in transitions is so important, you get that desired effect after you’ve said something important and the listener can focus in on your words while you’re speaking them. Let the music subconsciously layer that message in when you have the music playing following an important concept.

    • @J.Foster-wd2px

Absolutely opposite for me and other people who are poor auditory processors.
The music is vital and helpful to me to KEEP focused on his words.
Patrick Bet David also uses soft music in the background of his podcasts.
It’s the only way I can listen without losing focus and having to restart the video ( or even fall asleep! )
      People are different (!)

By phone, I had to convince the shelter adoption facilitator using the correct language and confidence to allow me to adopt a Belgian Malinois, I have high drive dog experience. But I finally got my Malinois, a 14-month-old rescue, a female called Maxi. She was adopted twice and each time immediately returned within a few days or less, chalk it up to human stupidity. Not a working line dog, but she's ball/food driven, let the training begin! Failure is not an option.

So this has me thinking with my adhd and others with it.
Do we have trouble doing what we are supposed to be doing (ie follow the script) because we notice the smallest change in a sound, lighting, how our clothes feel, etc. So our brain says hey that is different you need to pay attention focus there.
OR because we take in so much in, it is hard for our brains to hone in on a script?
    OR a little of both?
I mean sure there are a few things I go into autopilot mode, but not many.
There are tons of examples where I will get into a habit of doing something I will follow this for several months even. Then something happens (illness, something breaks, etc) and I will suddenly stop doing this "habit"
It literally is like the app/script is deleted from my brain.

I also wanted to thank you. I am currently going through the Ellipsis Manual, that I picked up mainly by curiosity, and it really helped me changing the way I speak/look/approach people and it already made a world of difference. I started picking up the signals I was sending through my body language etc and modifying it. There's a noticeable difference on how people speak/carry on with me. I didn't think it could make a big difference and I am glad to say that I was absolutely wrong.
So thank you again for all you do.

I think all of this scientific information is very helpful. It definitely promotes discipline because if you’re used to doing things your whole life, introducing another form of thinking can be challenging. For example, ancestor theory. If that was true, who were their ancestors? And so on and so forth. If our scientists can go back 10 million years ago and produce proof, why not go back one billion years? Oh wait, I’m talking to a sales person. Got me! 😂

I was a scuba instructor for 17 years and worked out of one of the biggest dive shop in the Western Pacific. The majority of my students were guys in the military.
I was always fighting my inner voice that said, you look like a little ditzy blonde girl, no one is going to take you seriously. Anyway, over time I became a really good instructor and turned into a dive gear nerd. It was really required if I wanted to succeed, since I ran across a few uppity Navy officers, and fun crazy Navy divers. Yes, navy divers do have to be recreational dive certified.
Now, to the most frightening day. Almost 2 years in, my boss yells across the office, the captain of the USS Haleakala wants a private class for him and his kid. He wants to buy gear first. Getting private classes was very lucrative. I asked, how much are you charging him ? He said, have you met the kid? I'd drowned him, it all yours.
(I know this is getting really long!)
I'm in panic mode trying to think of what to say and how I'm going to sell gear to this guy without sounding like an idiot. My mouth had no spit left in it!
    FYI , I know a lot about cars .
He comes through the door, introduction are made. He says, what do you know about dive gear? I said, confidently, buying dive gear is a lot like buying a car. All these regulators will get you there, but you have to decide on want kind of diving you think you will be doing and how smooth and easy you want to make it. One of the best life lessons I ever had. Knowing what you know, is the confidence. Be sincere, and don't try to sell regret , as in the expensive item, to someone you know can't afford it and ruin their joy.
The kid....12 year old cocky brat from hell. After our first water session as his dad was putting tanks in the back of my truck, I yanked him to the side and said, if you don't listen to everything I say, your lungs are going to explode and you will die. I turned and walk away. All the way back to the dive shop I just prayed he wouldn't say anything to his dad.
Everyone dived happily ever after. The end.
That voice still comes out once in awhile.

I laughed at the infomercial trick of the countdown because it’s so overused and most of us know it’s not real. How long does it really take to get depth of knowledge? Airline pilots don’t learn to fly in a weekend seminar. What is a realistic time frame to put your teachings into practice? I always love these short video’s and I still enjoy the Behavior Panel!
