Your videos always make me smile. Thanks, Sam. Love you, Mom
Hi mommaholmes hope allis well.
I wish my mom was as supportive as you! Thanks for making an awesome human!

Gotta say that the Google Earth info is very much appreciated. Other (lesser) sailing channels seem to assume that the kind viewer knows where the sailing vessel is located, and is familiar with the nearby geographical surroundings. That not usually being the case, I'll feel compelled to Google Map the area out of curiosity ... thanks for explicitly displaying all of that for us.
That battery powered outboard has been a game changer.
We visited Folegandros in '73. Wunt much there. We figured that there were lodgings for about eight tourists. A local in Athens told us about the island, but travel agents acted as though they'd never heard of it. We fed on the best bread and butter along with any fish we speared. We discovered that parrot fish were good-eating when we removed the metallic-tasting skin. I vividly remember having spent a few days just lying on the beach reading "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test"... quite the page-turner for me at 24. ;-)
Yer "ringing my chimes"!
That electric motor has been looking pretty cool and reliable!
I think you'd be bored if you ever achieved "the perfect boat", Sam 🤣 Nice video, as always!
I can still dream 😅
Thanks for this episode!
Nice to see you hanging out in Norway. Ann-Elin is a keeper!
Nice to hear about some generous tour operators.
So many comments about his hair… this man is living life while you guys judge 😂 who cares 🤷🏼♂️
Woohoo…Of course you went to Thira / Santorini….nice work. 👏🏼.
That's awesome that you spotted a sand boa!
Making it from there to here is always a great accomplishment, indeed. Funny Sam.
Ahoi Captain Sam, you are approaching a quarter million subscribers … wonderful to see your channel grow ❤.. well earned. Thank you for the great content!
Yup you said it, Perfect boat that everything works, (for that one day)
Anyone else think that anchor would bust a hole in the dingy when he threw it in? LOL
Thank you Sam!
A very cool spot, I can wait to explore the Med especially the Greek islands.
Heading to the. Philippines in February to look around. For future sailing grounds.
Your my hero Sam keep rocking
A great Thanksgiving video.
Happy Thanksgiving, Sam! Thank you for sharing your experiences. Great entertainment.
What a beautiful Greek village and beach. Amazing adventure!
13:00 - Sam motors his inflatable into the center of a live volcano - expecting, at any moment to hear him scream out in his best Ahnald voice,
"Dares uh bomp n dare! Get tooda choppah!!" :0)
Looks awesome we will make sure to put it on our list for next years season when we sail around the Greek Islands. Awesome videos as always
Such a beautiful looking place. I would love to go there for a visit. Maybe someday I will. Great video Sam I really enjoyed it.
Happy New year coming up. Thanks Sam.
Wow! A man-bun!
Noooo!!!
Another stellar video, thank you Sam 💫🦃
Nice video Sam. Quite a variety of things. That electric motor was a great purchase, or was it a gift don't remember.
Thanks. It’s been very nice to have. The Temo folks gave me it.
Wow, I visited Santorini in 1979. The cruise ship took us to a location where we rode donkeys up to the top of the hill. It was a little scary! 😳 Beautiful island though! ❤
Ok, now I remember the day trip to Hydra, Poros and Egina. Then cruise to Santorini, Crete, Mykonos, and Rhodes. Amazingly beautiful. Enjoy your trip! ❤️
79 Nice ! Must have quiet back then.
I think the volcano erupted in 1967
We’re pack brothers! Love the Z packs!
Another great video Sam.
Ive been trying to find a past video where you talked about your ipad holder to get one like it for my boat. So could you please let me know. Thanks so much!

Hi Sam , longtime cruising sailor from New Zealand currently in Florida.. what size engine do you have in your boat ? As I see you recently re propped your boat with what seems a marked improvement in performance. Also what size battery bank do you have? .. great videos Sam , Cheers.
Impressive you still have that over inflated bouy 😂got some good use out of it!
Holy crap, the hair comments...
Your hair is awesome, and so are your videos. Keep up the good work.
lol yeah it’s so weird isn’t it
Happy thanksgiving!!!
Same to you!
I love your videos. I never seem to see any fog though, would like to know more...
A few years ago I sailed into some fog in Maine. I think I got it on video too.
@@samholmessailing thats funny Sam -- because I live in Maine -- I just assumed everyone must have as much fog as we do! I'll look it up, thanks. Keep up the strong work!
video enjoyed! The hair issue with several viewers is too funny. I encourage you to wear your hair how ever you want. Didn't you say you are spending the Winter in Norway? I've seen vids of Nordic Skating on bodies of water near to Oslo...looks like a fun activity
I’ve watched every video back to sailing to Hawaii. And a few before that. Sadly, not all.
Had an amazing day on this island last year while o a cruise to turkey from athems
Right on
Nice. Santorini is a REALLY old island.
after all your sailing if you could go back to the start would you buy a bigger boat, or do you think 28' is a good size for a solo sailer. I'm 55. and I just bought a 21' to learn to sail I hope to buy a bigger boat in two years. in your opinion with someone having only two years of experience would you buy a bigger boat or something around 30'
out of curiosity, what is that spool of flat webbing on the cockpit rail? Ive seen them on a few boats but never seen them in a store or anything to see what they are, etc. i assume its safety related, like a deployable line for a life ring, etc? or something for swimming to make sure you stay tethered to the boat? enlighten me, please.
Mooring line
That orange/brown water reminded me of the Indian River water at the Titusville, FL, marina where you picked up that free boat alittle ways back. Actually, Titusville is not much different from the water around there ... pretty sad and gross, imho.
@13:25 - In today's episode, Sam learns about volcanic silt.
Imagine the hubris of telling a stranger how to wear their hair! Getting strong “man yelling at cloud” vibes from this comment section😂
I'm interested to know more about the EZraft. Haven't seen it lately in the videos.
It popped a few videos past. I’m waiting for the replacement tube.
Hey Sam,
Were you aware that the cruise ship MS Sea Diamond ran aground and sank in the Santorini caldera in 2007 with two fatalities? Weihd eh?
Did I see that you turned on your anchor light 4:48 to get some sleep under way?
SAIL ON
The caldera and crater is not the middle island, it is Tha whole island of Santorini!
Sam when are you going to the grand line to search for the one piece? We all know you are a pirate
Sam...no man buns...love ya.
Ever thought of going up the westcoast of north America?
Sam, hopefully you didn't take a left into the Black Sea. You did sail over the gas pipeline in the Baltic shortly before it was sabotaged. Just offshore of Kaliningrad.
👍👍
2:52 the risk/reward of handling that stake in that time and place, puts this action firmly in the "stupid" category, along with drinking stream water in Kauai (leptospirosis), and swimming untethered to the boat in open water
Glad you’re keeping count for me
i could go on, im just getting started baby@@samholmessailing
Hey bro what kind of tablet are you navigating with?
Sailproof tablet
@samholmessailing how do you update those when you change regions?
@@davidsimmons7556 I put a SIM card in and downloaded all the areas I needed.
@@samholmessailing Thanks Sam
Are you going to Ikeria?
Javelin Sand Boa
You see ... That's why it bothers me when you go swimming.
Seconds later, the wind is back and your boat may be gone !
How about showing more restaurants
What happened to the yellow Dutch inflatable?
It popped
Why don’t iPhones show the stars??
They re not bright enough
NO MAN BUN. PLEASE, LOSE THE MAN BUN.
Thanks. I didn't wanna say anything, but since you've broken the ice... I'm not a fan of the Bun Of Man. It reminds me that many cruisers are hipsters... yeah, officially. ;-)
I'm waiting for someone to say that snake was super venomous.
You must know your snakes! Greece does have some venomous species. Whatever that was, it was pretty docile.
Crazy
is anyone else having issues with HDR videos? the video brightness becomes way overblown / painful on m2 pro watching on chrome
Yeah, 1st man bun appearance?🤔🥖
Oh no, man bun! 🤣
Oh no Sam not a man bun!
περιπέτεια
Love the channel, hate the hair bun 😂😂😂
Thumbnail looks sus
Buy you a beer if you cut your hair 😊😊😊👍👍
No Not the Man Bun🤦♀️
man bun really really???
@16:49 Twerking ?? 😅
Oh no not the man bun
I told you lot about his hair it's beginning to annoy him so he went for the man bun look which makes it even more urgent he gets a haircut at the first possible opportunity
Chicks dig the long hair, at least mine does.
@@chriskelly6559they sure do
0:55 Thought you got a haircut. Nice! Then it turned out to be a man bun! Oh, no! 😮
Tite
You've got to lose the Manbun...yuck!
Get a haircut
I had to look twice… you look completely naked in the thumb
Working the man bun.
