During Covid lockdown, I still drove to church to take COMMUNION after online mass; I just couldn’t live without HIM. Jonathan’s personal testimony has taught me to SURRENDER everything to HIM. The Chosen has taught me to LOVE my Bible again. “Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.”

During dinner, she asked about the Eucharist and its significance. And my older brother (ie. her husband) quickly answered; “Its just symbolic. We do it because Jesus broke bread with His Apostles before He was crucified.” Oh gosh, I almost went into cardiac arrest when I heard the word “symbolic.” I quickly jumped in and said: “No, it’s not! How can you say that? The Holy Eucharist is the REAL body of Christ. Have you not heard the word transubstantiation?”Everyone around the table went silent. And everyone quickly changed the subject. 1 week on, I am still thinking about what he naively said and I wonder how many Catholics think the same 😢. The only thing that separates us from the 38,000++ Christian denominations is the Holy Eucharist. Jesus is truly present, at mass, with us. And as a Communion Minister, I was saddened to hear my brother (a cradle Catholic) utter those words. Anyway, the next day, he and his wife flew off to Bali for 10 days. He will be back next Monday. I most certainly will chat with him in private. I will be gentle ☺️☺️.

Listening to Jonathan read the Bread of Life discourse made that powerful Gospel come alive. How can fallen away Catholics listen to that and not want to come back to the faith and sacraments that they were baptized and confirmed into ? May their individual Confirmation saint and Guardian Angel never give up on calling him or her back.

Your human side and your compassion as Jesus is what brings people back to the Lord, knowing our Lord is like that, kind, generous, humble enough to deal with our problems, forgiving and merciful to pick up our pieces when we fall short. I knew that since Dallas Jenkins, creator of "The Chosen," is an evangelical that we would never hear the "bread of life discourse" in "The Chosen." Obviously, Jesus was not joking when he said it was his body, blood, soul and divinity in that bread. He certainly didn't come back on his words but pushed further. Accept it/him , or leave him. There is no other choice.
Evangelicals believe in the blood and flesh of Jesus through communion. It may not even be included in the show due to time and film constraints. There is a lot to consider and show but not every sermon or discourse is shown in the show. But that’s why we need to read it for ourselves.

I used to be an Evangelical (grew up Southern Baptist)- Evangelicals typically do not believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist (and even if they did, they don't have it). In my old church, "Lord's Supper" was considered symbolic, and it was only celebrated about once a quarter.

The real presence has sustained me and saved me many times, including ones where my life was literally at risk of being lost. I was at the Eucharistic Congress, it was so wonderful. I am still effected and affected (hopefully forever). All the speakers, including Jonathan Roumie here with his speech and the beautifully done version of John 6, were sooo wonderful! They all were. Everyone brought so much Love, Peace, Knowledge of Christ, and our Great Catholic Faith to all those present. And Jesus in The Blessed Sacrament... the Eucharistic Adoration... I was so moved everyday, I will never be the same, God be willing.
Jonathan is one of the most humble actors I have ever seen. His portrayal of Jesus is the best I have ever seen. He helps as an emissary of God to make me to look more towards Jesus Christ as a man and my God. To feel more intimately connected with Christ.

Amen, Jonathan! I wish I could talk with you about your conversion to Catholicism, as I have been considering it. I was raised at First Baptist Church, New Haven, CT, and it was a good experience. I was Baptized at age 14 after Bible Study classes. It is similar to the Catholic Confirmation. I saw a documentary where a couple of pastors converted to Catholicism. I am huge fan of Jonathan Roumie's portrayal of Jesus Christ. Jonathan's reading of John 6:47-68 is magnificent! I regularly eat the bread and drink the cup of Christ's atoning sacrifice in my faith. I also cherish the prayer given by the priests who administer this Sacrament. I would like to share the blessing they give on the bread with you as an offering to Jonathan's wonderful speech and spirit. O God, the Eternal Father, We ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it, that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son; and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. I truly believe God choose Jonathan to portray he son. I also believe Jonathan is on the path to future great acting roles. Listening to Jonathan read the Bread of Life discourse made that powerful Gospel come alive. How can fallen away Catholics listen to that and not want to come back to the faith and sacraments that they were baptized and confirmed into ? May their individual Confirmation saint and Guardian Angel never give up on calling him or her back.

The Chosen is so very wonderful for so many people.
I knew that since Dallas Jenkins, creator of "The Chosen," is an evangelical that we would never hear the "bread of life discourse" in "The Chosen." This deeply saddens me since it takes away from the authenticity of the show and I would have loved to see it on the screen. This presentation by #JonathanRoumie makes my heart sing. Obviously, Jesus was not joking when he said it was his body, blood, soul and divinity in that bread. He certainly didn't come back on his words but pushed further. Accept it/him , or leave him. There is no other choice.

Evangelicals believe in the blood and flesh of Jesus through communion. It may not even be included in the show due to time and film constraints. There is a lot to consider and show but not every sermon or discourse is shown in the show. But that’s why we need to read it for ourselves.

Uh, no, that's not true. I used to be an Evangelical (grew up Southern Baptist)- Evangelicals typically do not believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist (and even if they did, they don't have it). In my old church, "Lord's Supper" was considered symbolic, and it was only celebrated about once a quarter.
Neither did they show the Baptism or Transfiguration. But the show is 95% non Bible says the creator

Thank you, Jonathan! As a fan of yours and The Chosen, I've been sad, in anticipation, that you will probably not get to portray that incredibly sacred moment in Jesus's teachings. Thank you for giving us that opportunity tonight. I absolutely believe that God is working through you to bring many people to a fuller experience of Jesus in their lives. I pray that more people come to see that these "hard" words are worth embracing to the fullest. The real presence has sustained me and saved me many times, including ones where my life was literally at risk of being lost. I am filled with joy and gratitude for Jesus's ultimate sacrifice and tangible gift of His body and blood. Those feelings are repeated tonight because of seeing and hearing you profess the words of the Gospel and for sharing your truth. I am praying for you. May God continue to bless you and the Holy Spirit protect you.

My heart was so moved by these words. Your humble yet powerful portrayal of our Lord continues to deepen my affection and worship of Him. It is indeed likely as close as we’ll get as long as He tarries. I was at F5K and at the filming for Holy Week this year and both times overwhelmed by the impact of your work. I was at the Eucharistic Congress, it was so wonderful. I am still effected and affected (hopefully forever). All the speakers, including Jonathan Roumie here with his speech and the beautifully done version of John 6, were sooo wonderful! They all were. Everyone brought so much Love, Peace, Knowledge of Christ, and our Great Catholic Faith to all those present. And Jesus in The Blessed Sacrament... the Eucharistic Adoration... I was so moved everyday, I will never be the same, God be willing.
Jonathan is one of the most humble actors I have ever seen. His portrayal of Jesus is the best I have ever seen. He helps as an emissary of God to make me to look more towards Jesus Christ as a man and my God. To feel more intimately connected with Christ.

Amen, Jonathan! I wish I could talk with you about your conversion to Catholicism, as I have been considering it. I was raised at First Baptist Church, New Haven, CT, and it was a good experience. I was Baptized at age 14 after Bible Study classes. It is similar to the Catholic Confirmation. I saw a documentary where a couple of pastors converted to Catholicism. I am huge fan of Jonathan Roumie's portrayal of Jesus Christ. Jonathan's reading of John 6:47-68 is magnificent! I regularly eat the bread and drink the cup of Christ's atoning sacrifice in my faith. I also cherish the prayer given by the priests who administer this Sacrament. I would like to share the blessing they give on the bread with you as an offering to Jonathan's wonderful speech and spirit.
