Just beat her yesterday and I was really low on everything but so close, then I hit the Shine Sprite bingo and man that was satisfying af lol.
My heart was pounding when I faced her and I was at PERIL for several minutes, next thing you know, the fog came in and saved me and I had enough star points for a Sweet Feast!! Not only I have beaten Bonetail but I have beaten the Pit on my FIRST TRY!! 😁

I fumbled big just before Bonetail I had used up my starpower on floor 99, thinking i was about to level up (5 points away), completely forgot about keeping lifeshrooms handy, and to top it off, i had remaining BP to equip a new badge But having the badge to freely swap party members helped immensely, still works if they're knocked out too
I did the whole pit first try. The pit of a hundred trials is, from what i've deduced -- an endurance test. I mixed and matched diffrent badges, utilized ALLL my partners, got TWO Amazy Dayzees, it was absolutely wild. I FINISHED the main game, just jumped right into this, played all night, and got this all first try. Now, as I said, I mixed and matched several badges, but here's the ones I ALWAYS had on. HP plus badges, FP plus badges, HP partner badges, charge badge, charge partner badge, quick change, feeling fine, feeling fine P, and lucky day was really useful once I got it. Bonetail is a direct reflection of the pit itself, you have to endure against Bonetail's attacks and just keep chipping away, all it took was using spring jumps and Bobbery's basic bomb attack, some charging here and there, and using showstopper like twice, to prevail, of course you have to ABSOLUTELY keep your guard up. Items? Get like 6 Ultra Shrooms, 6 Jammin Jellies, and the rest in Life Shrooms. Make sure to get a SPECIAL Spell from Merluvlee, trust me, you'll need it. And uh, honest to god. Bonetail is nowhere near as hard as Shadow Queen, lmao. If you manage to get there with full hp and fp, you should be fine, like i did. Shadow Queen? You literally GET full health, fp, everything and she STILL had me struggling on.
I just completed this battle yesterday with only the partners i got after completely chapter 4, every BP level up and only having 20 HP & FP, had to use all my items but ended up winning the end of it
I find Bonetail a LOT harder than Shadow Queen. I beat the whole game with Double Pain Badge and only 20 HP for Mario and beat the Shadow Queen on my first try. I got my first Game Over against Bonetail. On the 2nd try I was able to defeat her but Bonetail is in my opinion the hardest boss in the game. The Shadow Queen was nothing compared to her.

Equip the Quick Change, Feeling Lucky and if possible, the Feeling Lucky P badges. For Quick Change, you wouldn’t need to worry about wasting a turn to change your partners and it would make using Goombella to tattle the enemies so much easier. As for Feeling Lucky, it would really help for the later floors and Bonetail herself as you wouldn’t need to worry about Status Effects like Poison or Confusion. 4. I would recommend waiting until you at least get the 6th Crystal Star. That way you can use Showstopper to work your way through the early floors more quickly and conserving as much Star Energy as possible. 5. This last one is important. I would strongly recommend refraining from using healing items like Mushrooms and Syrups until you reach Bonetail herself as much as possible. I’d recommend using Sweet Treat and Sweet Feast to heal your HP and FP and some of your Partner abilities that heal your HP and FP and some Badges that also heal your HP and FP. Hopefully this helps.

BP > HP if you know how to time you’re landings and use the badges right. Hence why if you pair some badges up well, it won’t matter how many hit points you have; you can take down Bonetail in as little as two turns if you can pull off “Danger Mario” well.
There's no real reason to have more than 30 in this game if you know what you're doing, even without Danger Mario. I went into this fight with Double Pain on a stream dare, 30 HP, 30 FP, ready with ~6 Life Shrooms, expecting the worst... and didn't need a single one.

@corey5613 Depends how you can handle the last 50 floors, for me it took roughly 2 hours just to get to bonetail, from 1-99 when you get to bonetail I will definitely say bonetail is harder than the shadow queen because her attacks are much easier to deal with bonetail is sorta easy if you can get very good timing but even if you’re very good bonetail has many status effects it can do and it’s a lot more of a toll to get too.
