MR TMF, the best way to pronounce Builth is to to take the u out Bilth Wells, that's the way to pronounce it. Sorry don't mean to sound rude 😁👍, fantastic video 👍. Keep up the good work 😁👍
Looking through the screen is not a problem at all. If people complain about that, then they have entirely too high expectations of sitting on their couch and watching someone else travel!
@fountainofyouth5 I know this post and comments are over three years old but you really SHOULD NOT look thru the windshield when riding a motorcycle "if" possible it is a very bad habit and the reason is quiet simple. Unlike automobiles your MC does not have wipers so those bugs, dirt etc etc can built up and obstruct your view and/or because of the build up make you either see something in the road that isn't there OR miss something that is. IF The same hits your faceshield you will know it and perhaps can even remove it with your hands. A motorcycle's windshield is literally a "shield" from wind only and should be treated as such. If you are a rider you know things on motorcycles happen much quicker than in cars and the proper reaction to sudden incidents means everything.I realize because of different rider heights and even sitiations you may not have much choice hence the "if" at the beginning of this diatribe. Happy safe riding everyone!
I own a 2020 wing. You said it doesn’t have an electronic suspension, but it does. I noticed your riding in the single rider setting. You have options in the settings screen. One rider, one ride+luggage, rider+pillion, rider+pillion+luggage. Try it, you’ll like it! Great vid as always.
You’ve a great skill in making the viewer (me) feel like I’m a pillion. I’ve no interest in Goldwings at all, I just knew this was going to be another cracking video and you didn’t disappoint. Absolutely loved this and looking forward to the next instalment. Well done! 👍🏍
Hi Andy, a couple of points before your Welsh followers are up in arms..1)Powys is a Welsh county not the entire country 2) Builth is pronounced ‘Bill - th’. I grew up in Herefordshire just to the South and yes it’s a fantastic part of the world for roads and scenery. The Chiltern’s are great but not to the same level. Another great video, thank you.
And ARAF is pronounced "arav". I'm not going to attempt to teach you how to pronounce Llanwrtyd. You should have made a detour over the mountain road from Llanwrtyd Wells to Abergwesyn and via the Devil's Staircase towards Tregaron, then past Llyn Brianne. Perfect road for a Gold Wing. :-)
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed being along for the ride - the scenery, the bike and the commentary - outstanding! What an amazing machine - so relaxed and effortless with that torquey flat six purring along whilst the DCT just slots the gears as needed imperceptibly. Magnificent. Surely only the BMW K1600 GT/GTL could come close for luxury and comfort. Touring at it's absolute finest.. :-). Greatly looking forwards to the next instalment and thank you so much for sharing. :-)
The BMW K1600 is significantly more top heavy and feels very ‘revvy’ in comparison. I wanted to love the K1600 GTL but the Honda just felt so much more balanced and composed.

Hope you’re keeping yourself safe as well as your family. David
Lovely scenery and a beast of a bike. The company I work for has an office in Cardiff (bay area), Wales sure is beautiful from what I saw when the taxi took us to the office years ago. When I was younger I travelled with my brother and a buddy in the UK with a Britrail train pass (England - Schotland - Wales), no frigging Corona then :-).
Stunning roads and scenery in Wales I dont think there's any bad roads for biking,I'm hoping you rode the A483 to Newtown, one of the best roads in the UK 👍

That machine is simply divine to watch and listen to; I can only imagine it must be sublime to drive. Beyond my scope, so I appreciate opportunity to see such a lovely machine plying its skills so gracefully.....maybe not so on every bend 😉! But gracefully overall!! Your assessment of the impact of a pillion is surely flawed.....with the waif of a figure your young wife graced the rear of that bike with, I'm sure she could pillion on my mountain bike with barely any effect! all routes iv'e ridden many many many times over the years . an that bend after you turn left that caught you out is even worse going the other way . but fantastic roads an fantastic bike . i'd love one .
White vans aren’t the problem; they’re out there doing a job. The problem is the number of private cars. At any given time, private cars make up 73 per cent of road traffic, most on short trips. And yet drivers will blame anything bar themselves for congestion, delays and pollution. The favourite target for their ire is the humble and practical bicycle. You couldn’t make it up.
Watching your video is just like coming along for the ride, up to the point when you said how good the bike sounds. As I sat on my leather recliner, I replied “ I know it sounds really good”. At that point, I realised 2 things. One you won’t hear me and 2, I am not sat on the bike going through Wales. Still watching on my big TV was the next best thing. Thanks for the journey.
Great video of areas I know well having had my childhood in The Cotswolds and then lived in South Wales for most of my life. Currently in lock-down so good to watch these roads and scenary that my wife and I know so well but cannot access at the moment. Many thanks
“Builth” is pronounced “Bill-th” it’s very important to them over there 👉😱. Did 200 miles around mid Wales yesterday....contrary to Mad Man Drakefords threats ...nothing thrown at me 😃.... really enjoying seeing my own stomping ground through your trip. Not sure the “ beast” would be ideal some of the lanes I travelled yesterday.... eg Pumpsaint to Rhandirmwyn.....have a look ...it’s stunning.
I was there at the same time as you but touring on my little Enfield Himalayan on the smaller roads, fantastic views and weather, you’re right about not knowing when to to turn the camera on and off. Everywhere you look the views are stunning!
Great ride with nice roads and scenery. Beautiful weather and looks like you both had a good time. More reviews of two up on other tourers please. Always enjoyed visiting Wales before moving down under. The problem with automatic bikes is low rpm even downhill so no engine braking in corners. It looks like it took you by surprise a few times especially with the weight of that block of flats. If you were on the Gs you would not have run wide... £30k sobs will buy you a tourer and a sports or naked bike....
A lot of motorcycle manufacturers aimed for the ride and smoothness of the Honda Goldwing. Indian, Harley Davidson, BMW. Yamaha have all started to fully counter balance and time their line for that Cadillac smooth refined ride and feel. The highway standard has been the Goldwing for some time now with no challengers until recently. The Honda Goldwing with all its bells and whistles out the gate also made other manufacturers step up their game in many areas such as full liquid cooling, easy single hole oil fill filling and draining.
Love this motorcycle analyst marsupial. Does a great fast moving and relevant review. And his wife doesn’t hurt either. Just subscribed. Love this channel
Thank you Mr and Mrs Flyer for a great video, This year is the first time I haven't had a touring holiday in 40 years of riding. Watching this makes me think I'm out on the road again.
Yes it's been a rubbish year hasn't it Colin - this is the only tour I've managed to squeeze in....fingers crossed for an improvement next year (though I'm not holding my breath!). All the best and thanks for watching....
Just finished the vid with my wife. Wishlist: 1. That we had one, 2. That you included Mrs Flyah via comm’s while onboard 3. That you’d try a new series road testing used notable bikes ( dare I say classic?). I’d love to see that added to the menu. Love the channel. 👍🏻
What a wonderful ride, my only experience of Wales was ripping along the M4 to deliver a package from Covent Garden to Bridgend back in my despatch riding days during the mid 80's. The roads on your trip are to die for.
Just come back from my first trip to wales, spent a couple of days near swansea to go trials biking, must come back on my road bike to enjoy the incredible twisty roads Wales has to offer
I got exactly the same since october 22 2019. 3.500 miles till now and very pleased with this "beast" ! This beast is the best !! Still keep my GS °2015 in Frozen Dark Blue.
@@TheMissendenFlyer I bought the Wing because I wanted some completely new "bike-philisophy" as I turned 60 last year. I dreamed of a kind of limo on two wheels "for my older days" ! Lol ! The GW 's got it : DCT and six cilinders ! My heart breakes when I intend to quit my GS at the end of 2021 for I have done already 50.000 km (35.000 miles ?) with my third one now (LC this time) and enjoyed it mostly in the Alps and Dolomites. But I cannot keep two bikes running because too expensive for me. Sadly, this is a transition period... .
Really enjoyed that. Seeing as you are a full time vlogger and have ridden pretty much all the two wheeled exotica by now AND you rate the GW so highly AND bought one with your own money there can be no greater endorsement can there. GW king of the road.
Nice to see you in my back yard sir. A424 to stow cracking road, but the view that we missed was Bourton on the water, in the wondrous valley and not Evesham valley. What a cracking bike, will be watching you an Mrs flyer on this trip.
I suggested to the American TV presenter Martha Stewart that there were a lot of things to film around Powys for a group of TV shows .Because a whole crew came with her they had to do a few shoots in a small district .One on the 18th century flowerpots of Powys Castle ...She loved the area ... Watch out you are getting way to used to the Wing .It is a sports bike and a hotel on two wheels ...Great clip Andy !
Great video as always, and a big thank you for leaving in the bit where you got that corner wrong. Makes a nice change to see someone else gets things wrong from time to time.
I'm 36 years old and I LOVE the new Goldwing! I went to look at new Indians and they also had Honda Goldwings in the dealership. I sat on a 2020 GW and instantly fell in love. Sadly there is no way I could ever afford one lol. I have to buy used bikes and even used GW are really expensive here. Guess I'll keep my Kawasaki 1600 i paid 3000 dollars for until I can win the lottery 😂. But as a younger fella I gotta say the new sporty look of the goldwing is awesome 👍 Cheers to you all from Kentucky USA
Thanks for another great vid, plenty to see and plenty of good useful info. And you rode through my home town, that black & white village Pembridge! .(I’m in a tiny helmet 2 miles beyond the village.) So I can vouch for those gorgeous roads into and across Wales. Long straights, wide sweepers… and a few hairpins as well! The Gold Wing Tour DCT looks and seems awesome. I ride the Kawasaki Z1000SX but I’m in the market for a bigger comfortable manoeuvrable tourer with all mod cons, friend of mine just bought the BMW K1600GTL which is also awesome but I think the Gold Wing may have the edge on it in some areas, plus I don’t want to be a copycat! Haven’t reached the bit where you tackle the inevitable twisties in the Welsh hills but I’m guessing the Goldie took them in her stride.
Excellent video and amazing bike. Did South to North Wales in February this year on my BMW K1600 gtl and it was an amazing trip, beautiful scenery and stunning roads. Thanks again for the videos, always a pleasure to watch and informative.
Andy you and your wife look like you are having a wonderful time it looks a lovely part of the world. I live in the north west of England and in normal times visit Anglesey regularly if you have not been there I think it would be great for your bike the roads are lovely and quiet and white vans are a rare site .
Super Duper....stunningly gorgeous ride-about. Mr Flyer I do believe you’ve got this video thingy down pat. Very much looking forward to your next installment. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎
Leominster is the gateway to some of the best (quiet) roads around and also my home! Never a dull ride out this way. Could have formed a welcoming committee for you TMF if we had known! Top marks for pronunciation too, most folk can’t say it properly.
I've enjoyed some of your more recent video's, so I took a look at some older ones. I laughed when I saw your GoldWing programming a "Favourite" as opposed to US English of "Favorite" and then she spoke with a British accent. I laughed even harder when it popped in my head, this is a Japanese bike! I've been to Marysville, Ohio, US where these are made. I'll have to lookup and see if they also manufacture them in Europe (maybe you'll say that later in the video).
Great viewing. I love these tour videos...just the tonic we need at the moment. Particularly liked the ride through the Cotswolds. It's a beautiful part of England which I know well. I think the Goldwing is probably the only bike I'd get my wife on for any distance... Shame about the cost!
Its a better view through YOUR screen than my Tiger 1200!! Proper impressed how that monster seems to take those Welsh bends (when your not looking at scenery 😅) Looking forwards to the next couple of vids

Excellent video from Palm Springs California! Love all of your reviews and love the Gold Wing. Not my cup of tea yet but your review of the Africa Twin Adventure helped me in purchasing one 2 weeks ago. Cheers!
Nice video! Fun to watch, especially since I did come down the A483 to Llandowry June last year. Well at least to Cynghordy where I took off and followed the river Towy down to Llandovery. Done Wales from North and down south, from COnwy and through the national parks. Found lots of back roads and beautiful places I don't mind seeing again! Wales is a gem, this comes from a Norwegian, somewhat spoiled with great nature rides. But Wales still is a one of a kind area of the UK :)
Lovely to see you enjoying the views and roads on my doorstep. I’m 20 miles south of Llandovery. Moved here 20 years ago and never get bored of the scenery around here. Brilliant video, can’t wait for the next instalment!
Great video of the countryside of my home. Impressed by your pronunciation of Leominster, but cringed with every mention of Builth Wells. Nice mention of my sisters place, Border View! Looking forward to seeing the next instalment 👍🏻
My wife and ate at The Strand when on ride out last year, nice food. I have an MT10 and live near Bewdley so go out Wales most weekends, great video as always. 👍🏻
I'm from around the Evesham area. It's a really _beautiful_ part of England. I left there for London when I was 21, now I regret that decision immensely. I didn't appreciate just how beautiful the area was.. Until I'd left. On my commute in London on my NC700 DCT I often see a chap on a 2012 Goldwing and he filters like a good un' he just throws it around. What impresses me is the way it pulls away at the lights, he leaves everything in his (envious) wake. If I had 30K spare I'd love a 2018 Goldwing.

Why pick, keep both!
@@marcoluoma3770 Keep both get rid of the missus - sorted.
Now that was fun! Personally that was my favorite episode you’ve ever done. I liked the dynamic of your wife being with you. p.s. I hope you think God every morning you wake up because you got a good life brother
Just spat my tea out with the "I'm going to spank this big boy round Wales" comment 😂😂😂😂
all routes iv'e ridden many many many times over the years . an that bend after you turn left that caught you out is even worse going the other way . but fantastic roads an fantastic bike . i'd love one .
We must resign ourselves to live peacefully among the White Vans. There will always be one ahead even if not yet met.
Some of us Bikers also own white vans 😉
Brilliant Robert - thanks for joining us - there's room for 3 on this beast!
@@TheMissendenFlyer In Indonesia I’ve seen a family of 5 on a 125. So there’s more than enough room for an extended family on the Gold Wing.
Missendenflyer's arch enemy - white van. Only on land though.
And Welsh place names 😂 I'll forgive him though because I enjoy his videos!
Thank you so much for taking us along. Very kind of you sir.
Thank you for being my wing man James!
@@TheMissendenFlyer pun intended? Hahaha
DCT model?
Yup
Great video of areas I know well having had my childhood in The Cotswolds and then lived in South Wales for most of my life. Currently in lock-down so good to watch these roads and scenary that my wife and I know so well but cannot access at the moment. Many thanks
Hope you get out of lockdown soon!
Yes bikers paradise isn't it......
Builth as in “filth” is how I remember it!! But it’s a beautiful town!! And I’m there this weekend..👌
This is great stuff Mr Flyer.
Good to have the missus along.
Thank you
i sense someone might be remortgaging to get a goldwing :P
I was there at the same time as you but touring on my little Enfield Himalayan on the smaller roads, fantastic views and weather, you’re right about not knowing when to to turn the camera on and off. Everywhere you look the views are stunning!
‘Getting off the gravel frontage of that last hotel was a bit gnarley’.
With experience you don't go there, same with any big bike,
I can sum up this tour, the bike, the narration , the effort in one word....Cosmic!!!
Right on!
4:02 That's a breakfast? And that filled you up??
My thoughts too, i put more than that in a sandwich.
Note - You can downshift the DCT with the paddles, even while in Automatic...
Welcome along LK - thanks for the sub!
What a cracking vid. Whetting my appetite for the coming Spring to get out on my Pan European with the 'better half'. Marvellous! ... and thank you 👍
Have fun!
Thanks for the tips! Glad you enjoyed the vid......
What a wonderful ride, my only experience of Wales was ripping along the M4 to deliver a package from Covent Garden to Bridgend back in my despatch riding days during the mid 80's. The roads on your trip are to die for.
Yes, please don’t judge Wales by the M4!
I live in the Cotswolds and do a similar day trips to wales often it’s as good as you say. Just stunning roads and great people. Great vid cheers 👍
You're a lucky man John!
So when do you use the GS rather than the ‘wing?
Agteed
Hi mate, i just love that bike, love the sound it makes too. Very nice to meet Mrs Flyer as well. Great idea for a little trip.
Have you not met her before mate?? Where have you been!!
Nice to see you in my back yard sir. A424 to stow cracking road, but the view that we missed was Bourton on the water, in the wondrous valley and not Evesham valley.
What a cracking bike, will be watching you an Mrs flyer on this trip.
Thanks for the info!
Sorry Tmf meant to be windrush not wondrous, predictive text issue's.
Love this mix. Bike reviews plus these two-up trips with the wife.
Glad you like them!
Cheers Guy!
Great video as always, and a big thank you for leaving in the bit where you got that corner wrong. Makes a nice change to see someone else gets things wrong from time to time.
I get stuff wrong all the time - at least that's what everyone tells me!!! No room to hide on the Internet!!
Excellent stuff, what a machine... love the little Morecambe and Wise nod from Mrs. Flyer ;)
I've no idea who Morecambe and Wise are......(before my time)
Wow,great weather ,great bike, scenery. All the stars aligned. That engine sounds amazing.Another cracking thumbnail."keep them coming tmf"
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm 36 years old and I LOVE the new Goldwing! But as a younger fella I gotta say the new sporty look of the goldwing is awesome 👍
Cheers to you all from Kentucky USA
Cheers Johnny - you're pushing on an open door here - the Goldwing is one of the best bikes on the planet period!
We were in Wales around the same last August. It was lovely.
Helmet or hamlet??
@@TheMissendenFlyer Hamlet! 😄Although I often am in a helmet in the area 👍
I went to Llandovery many years ago with a group of Land Rover owners. We did the Strata Florida among other green lanes. I'll never forget it.
Why, what happened?
That was enjoyable vlog now looking forward to part 2....you had brilliant weather for your trip.....stay safe....thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent video and amazing bike. Did South to North Wales in February this year on my BMW K1600 gtl and it was an amazing trip, beautiful scenery and stunning roads. Thanks again for the videos, always a pleasure to watch and informative.
Thank you John - appreciate the kind comment!
Was really looking forward to this and I wasn't disappointed. Another awesome video thanks 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Andy you and your wife look like you are having a wonderful time it looks a lovely part of the world. I live in the north west of England and in normal times visit Anglesey regularly if you have not been there I think it would be great for your bike the roads are lovely and quiet and white vans are a rare site .
Yes we love it up there....
Super Duper....stunningly gorgeous ride-about. Mr Flyer I do believe you’ve got this video thingy down pat. Very much looking forward to your next installment. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎
Thank you as ever Bradley - next episode on Monday!
Great vid, I’m hooked. Can’t wait for part 2. PS, love the TMF hoodie I bought. 👍🏻
Be careful with it Adrian, they drive the ladies wild!
Leominster is the gateway to some of the best (quiet) roads around and also my home! Never a dull ride out this way. Could have formed a welcoming committee for you TMF if we had known! Top marks for pronunciation too, most folk can’t say it properly.
Thank you - that's one I got right!
Glad you enjoyed it Michael!
Great viewing. I love these tour videos...just the tonic we need at the moment. Particularly liked the ride through the Cotswolds. It's a beautiful part of England which I know well. I think the Goldwing is probably the only bike I'd get my wife on for any distance... Shame about the cost!
Tell me about it!
Love it, I just got my hands on a K1600 GT and will be embarking on some two up touring in the near future
Its a better view through YOUR screen than my Tiger 1200!! Proper impressed how that monster seems to take those Welsh bends (when your not looking at scenery 😅) Looking forwards to the next couple of vids
Thanks 👍
Loveing the tour nice to see you both enjoying the mighty wing i have an 1500 interstate and k1600 excluesive love the wing huge panniers and top box be safe be happy and hurry up with next vid
Coming on Monday Les!
Excellent video from Palm Springs California! Love all of your reviews and love the Gold Wing. Not my cup of tea yet but your review of the Africa Twin Adventure helped me in purchasing one 2 weeks ago. Cheers!
Cheers Ken!
Amazing bike and wonderful trip through beautiful towns, thanks for the video and take care both of you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
We did similar roads in early Sept- Wales is awesome when the sun's out.
Agreed!
Have you ridden North West Scotland?? That takes some beating to knut!! Norway takes the overall win though....
@@TheMissendenFlyernot yet. On the (long) list of countries and regions to ride in/through.
Lovely to see you enjoying the views and roads on my doorstep. I’m 20 miles south of Llandovery. Moved here 20 years ago and never get bored of the scenery around here. Brilliant video, can’t wait for the next instalment!
Good stuff Michael cheers....
Enjoyed that, looking forward to part 2 👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Andy Nice to see you pass through my home town of Leominster. The service area you stopped at has just been refurbished
Really - it was pretty good as it was!
What scenery! What beautiful country! What a fetching pillion.. 😁 WHAT A BIKE!!
Beautiful country and towns on the back of a beautiful bike.
Indeed!
Great video of the countryside of my home. Impressed by your pronunciation of Leominster, but cringed with every mention of Builth Wells.
Nice mention of my sisters place, Border View! Looking forward to seeing the next instalment 👍🏻
Really - was that her house? Brilliant....
Wonderful ride! Thanks for the tour.
Our pleasure!
My wife and ate at The Strand when on ride out last year, nice food. I have an MT10 and live near Bewdley so go out Wales most weekends, great video as always. 👍🏻
Cheers Tim!
Yes they are much more agile than you'd imagine...and that engine....!!
