I was born in 1986 so I was an infer when the first German Shepard one so I’m so happy to be able beautiful girl and magnificent standard of this wonderful breed win.

    sloped back......when will AKC actually change it's ways and start caring about this amazing breed of dog??

    • @xAspenn
      @xAspenn 2 роки тому +2

      the standard calls for a straight back. sloped backs do not exist in well bred show lines

      Her back isn't sloped naturally. It's the stack. The AKC can't do anything bc they don't make standards. The breed standard does call for a straight and level back.

      @@MuscovyMom let me put it this way, the rear hind quarter is over angulated. The hind legs are over-angulated period. This is a beautiful dog however it would be much more beautiful if the back was ever so slightly shorter and there was no 90-degree angles in the hindquarters. The working line German Shepherds are a great example of how the German Shepherd should look. If you want your black and tan you can have it instead of sable or solid black, but the structure should be the same!

      @@primalcritters The German shepherd dog is supposed to be a trotting breed with a big stride in trot to be able to act as a living fence all day while herding, this dog reflects that.

    Why is the dog walking like that

    • @artiicom
      @artiicom 2 роки тому +2

      They're a gaited breed. They trot rather than walk.

    • @xAspenn
      @xAspenn 2 роки тому +2

      it’s called gaiting! they do this when herding to cover more ground more efficiently

      It's a show lead, it loosens and tightens when pressure is out onto it.

    She might be a winning all breed show dog. But as a German Shepherd she is a mediocre dog at best! German Shepherd breed standard says "Base colour should be black with markings of brown, red-brown, blonde and light grey. Alternatively a grey base-colour with "clouds" of black markings and a black "saddle" and "mask". Inconspicuous white markings on the chest, and "brighter" shades on the under- and inner sides of the dog are permitted but not desirable. The nostrils must in all cases be black. Non-existence of a "mask", bright - until piercing eye colour as well as light/white nails and are coloured tail top are considered as a lack of pigmentation, the undercoat is a slight gray fond. White is not permitted. " So she has clear non inconspicuous white on her chest, undesirable in German Shepherd. And White areas not allowed in German Shepherds...................................

      Steven Brown you're worried about colour while it walks like that?!

    • @stevenbrown8951
      @stevenbrown8951 7 років тому +5

      Joshua Covel yes....The reason American Show lines are messed up is because show people don't care about the breed standard if the dog is winning shows. Ignoring breed traits even something as minor as color, when the standard says white is not desirable. Leeds too poor examples being bred. Having a clear major fault. Is not a quality German Shepherd!

      Steven Brown, where are you getting your information? The American Kennel Club Standard of the German Shepherd Dog, approved in 1978 and reformatted in 1994 states: "The German Shepherd Dog varies in color, and most colors are permissible. Strong rich colors are preferred. Pale, washed-out colors and blues or livers are serious faults. A white dog must be disqualified" IMO, color faults are minor in comparison to defects of type and structure. I also am not sure that her chest is not a very light blonde.

      Well he was right about standard just as you are,he just explained a part of it. There has been GSDCA meetings that explain the breed standard more thorogly and have said white spots are permisable but undesirable in the breed. Rumor does in fact have a very large white spot on her chest which I think is her only defect. There are many pictures and videos of her where the white spot can be seen more clearly.

      The AKC is not the German Shepherd breed Standard. There is only one true standard and that's the SV in Germany. Americans Americanize everything and ruin working breeds!
