Favorite mid-size SUV’S out there. The Telluride definitely beats the Palisade with it’s styling, but the interior of the Palisade is amazing, makes a better first impression than the Telluride. I would probably choose the Palisade. Great comparison!
Both great choices. I recently just bought the 2022 Telluride White. Although Palisade has better interior design the Telluride has a better edge exterior which I love. Both great SUV’s can’t go wrong either way

I decided that whichever came in stock first is what I would get, then I found out about the $5K dealership fees that Kia charges and that made the decision to get a Palisade a no-brainer. I finally got it a week ago after a month of waiting and I absolutely love it. No regrets.
I just bought a Palisade last week. I researched all of the newer 3 row SUVs. The Telluride are so popular that many Kia dealers, at least near me, have none in stock. And when they do are over pricing it well above MSRP. One dealer tried to sell me a used Telluride for $60k which I immediately said no to. So I found a Palisade locally, took it for a test drive and immediately loved it. I knew the Telluride and Palisade were very similar so picking the Palisade wasn't a hard choice. So far love everything about it and my wife (who drives it more then I do) has had at least 5 different people come up to her and ask about the car.
Telluride looks much better on the outside. It’s interior may look slightly less luxurious but the traditional shifter and analog gauges are so much better than the Palisade.

Thank you for making this video, I've been researching 3 rows for a few months and pallasade was my #1 but I want sure how it would compare, this definitely proves me right 😁
These are essentially corporate cousins with a lot of similarities ( and likely 90% interchangeable parts). It has been said that Telluride was designed to be marketed to men, while Palisade was designed more to be marketed to women. Either of them would be an excellent choice in a luxury suv. I was a former Audi owner and I bought a new Telluride.
If only the Kia had the Palisade's interior finish. I feel the Telluride will age better than the Palisade. Sorta how a Volvo XC90 or Jeep Grand Cherokee just ages gracefully. But at the end of the day, paying $60k for either is not a great proposition for long-term residual value as the hype won't last forever.
I think when these two cars get a refresh in like 4 ish years from now into the 2nd generation, the Telluride will get a full digital dash screen along with a nicer interior design like the current Palisade does. Also expecting these two cars will be released as electric cars when the next generation release as many countries are proposing a ban on sales for gasoline vehicles.
I just ordered my 2022 Palisade Calligraphy in Moonlight Cloud (navy) and I am SO excited. I was contemplating both these models and I'm so happy with my choice. I might be in the minority here, but I think the Palisade is far nicer than the Telluride - both inside AND out!
Honestly, I prefer the Kia. Not only does it look rugged, it also suits perfectly what we were looking for. Not really a fan of the electronic shifter on the Palisade. My only issue with that is that it doesn't have a whole lot of ground clearance, but it terms of driving, it's perfect

Just bought a Palisade Calligraphy in the rain forest color with black interior for my wife as an anniversary gift. She is absolutely in love with it. We looked at the Telluride and the new Pathfinder as well. I seem to be the odd man out in that I actually prefer both the exterior and interior of the Palisade as compared to the Telluride. I love the front of the Telluride, but also of the Palisade; however, I prefer the side view of the Palisade. All in all they are both great and I think it just comes down to preference. We did opt for some optional extra warranty that pushed the bumper to bumper to the same 10/100 as the powertrain and upped our free oil changes and tire rotations to 6 years vs 3.
Bought a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy 3 days ago and within it's first 231 miles, it has the 'wheel vibration' that is plaguing the model. Not happy and wasn't aware of it when purchased.
Everyone is saying telluride is better just because of the headlights and backlights ,even critics, dosen't make any sense because the palisade has all the same features but better, and better technology, better interior, but critics still say Telluride is better? Critics sometimes don't know anything, i didn't know headlights make a car better
Would you buy a prius with a mustang engine ? probably not, but you would buy a mustang if it had a prius engine, looks matter alot when it comes to cars.
Damn! love them both, wish that Kia and Hyundai will bring a hybrid version of each for 2023, I'm sold on the Palisade, beautiful interior, think I'll keep the Pali.
Really appreciate this effort in comparing the twins. One note on testing, 3dB is a noticeable difference in noise. However, your video shows the testing performed on two different roads. Asphalt quality and other factors will affect this test.
These SUV's come with a 2.2l diesel engine with approx. 190hp and 400nm torque in some regions. Can you review one with that engine? Or give an opinion on it?
I don't think there is anything hands down about this comparison. It basically comes down to style preference which by definition is subjective and cannot have a "hands down" winner. If you want to see a hands dow winner go watch the Edmunds comparison between these two and the Ford Explorer. I felt bad for the Ford by the end of it.
Just ordered a 22 Gravity Gray SX AWD with the night fall package and the SX premium package it's going to be 50,850 plus a $2,500 mandatory markup and 90 to 100-day wait for delivery. Now . I can't wait! They had about six Tellurides coming in the next 30 days, only 1 wasn't spoken for, a black EX AWD that they get delivered in early Dec. He said it will sell before it makes it to the lot. Crazy times out there for seemingly everything.
I love the Palisade hands down. The 2020 Palisade Limited is the best I’ve seen. The new features on the Palisade is not worth the mark up in price… 2020 Palisade is still winning for me!
I actually think the 2020 caught Hyundai flat footed because they didn't think people would pay that kind of money. It represents the best value, since it is virtually the Calligraphy trim of that year. I prefer the classier wheels of your 2020 over these as well.
I have both and I can not complain except the Telluride I don't have to get gas as much as the Palisade. I got Palisade straight off the truck with only 13 miles only because of them driving it off, and doing whatever the dealership needed too do. The Telluride we bought used because we just wanted one...lol.. but now where trading it in January. I love them both. So if it fits your budget it's worth. If u don't have to get it finance it will give u a better purchase price. I highly recommend getting the extra window, tire etc coverage because the windows on the Palisade are not strong I just got in April 2022 and have replaced the front windshield and now the back window. I small pebble hit in the corner of each( different times) but the windows cracked easily. The back glass shattered. The extra insurance ( protection cover that they put on the window) the company paid for it. So no out of pocket cost as far as the rear window had to go thru my insurance company and pay the deductible. But I love both suv's
I have both of these vehicles. My Telluride EX rides softer then my Palisade SE (base trim). When I hit pot holes in NJ the Telluride handles them better then Palisade. I thought is was because of the base trim. The Palisade I commute with and my wife drives the Telly.

Great review. Purchased a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy AWD: but there are some areas for improvement: add power folding exterior side mirrors, add sunglass holder in interior and add illumination for the overhead light buttons and those rims on calligraphy trim are a bit 'loud', design something more classy; and last but not least, consider adding hybrid powertrain as is offered on many other Hyundai products.
Love the Palisade in every way. Test drove both. Palisade rode a bit better and better on bumps. Kia luxurious but more sporty for younger fams. Palisade luxurious for empty nesters/retired for travel like us. Both are top notch! We choose the Palisade!
Most rivals and competition would bash the two because of all the recalls and issues with some of their models over the last 10 years, but you cant totally dismiss them. They are really good driving vehicles and have continued to get better and reliable.
Leased a 2020 S Telluride. Sold it just before and of lease. Was able to sell it for well over the lease payoff. Compared both vehicles (newer) after selling, and to me it is a win-win. We ended up with an SX AWD with the nightfall edition. Preferences over the Palisade in short are the exterior look/stance, wheels, and although the Palisade has at least an equivalent interior, it is not as spacious.
KIA did not put power seats in the 3rd row cause they found that when it would break or not work it was very costly for its customers to have to get fixed so they went with manuel instead
When you see these out on the road the wheels are very tiny and make the vehicles look weird. The width of the wheels mainly make the it that way. I think if the wheel s were a bit wider it would make a lot difference.
You guys give the best reviews. I picked the 2022 Telluride from watching one of your vids. Keep up the good work! My wife is looking at the new MDX and the new Q60.
I love the 'old school' analog shifter and dash gagues of the Kia. Not a fan of digital gauges and don't need the splashy graphics. Put that money into a smoother ride for me. I do like the front grill of the Palisade better though. Hard to go wrong with either one here.
I've driven both and unequivocally have to say the Calligraphy is far better. I bought the 2021 Calligraphy. I would prefer the Telluride's black rims though.
excellent review great comparisons, I used this info to gauge my purchase the telluride howver is cheaper the nightfall is a color accent trim package no real add on should not count in pricing lol
There are NO RECOVERY POINTS. So here’s a question, in the commercial where the Telluride is drifting through a muddy field, if they got stuck what would be the connection point for a 4x4 vehicle to pull it out? It was marketed as a very capable off-road vehicle but the manual instructs that a tow truck should pick up by the wheels to avoid damaging the AWD system. Have we forgotten the “Give it Everything” campaign already?
Hi guys thanks for the content l have watched your channel for about 2 or 3 years now but l am finding the recent focus on Kia/Hyunda/Genesis a bit much. l loved the days when you could have a Toyota, Honda , Mercedes etc. There was so much variety then nowadays it seems like you are solely focused on that brand. What happened to the more diverse offerings you used to show? Hoping you can go back to the old ways. All the best with your recovery, noticed you were in a cast in a previous video. Take care.
Thanks for the concern! The reason why there is more Korean content that usual is because they seem to be the only company pushing out new cars pretty well. HYUNDAI OWN KIA,AND GENESIS ITS OWN BY HYUNDAI AS WELL,SO HYUNDAI ITS THE WINNER.
End of argument 😅
Great video may I suggest closing with a brief statement on the point differences as a recap
My wife and I literally bought a 2022 Palisade Limited because of this video. Thanks for putting it together!
Glad we could help! Congrats!
Which is better on gas
Leased a 2020 S Telluride. Sold it just before and of lease. Was able to sell it for well over the lease payoff. Compared both vehicles (newer) after selling, and to me it is a win-win. We ended up with an SX AWD with the nightfall edition. Preferences over the Palisade in short are the exterior look/stance, wheels, and although the Palisade has at least an equivalent interior, it is not as spacious.
KIA did not put power seats in the 3rd row cause they found that when it would break or not work it was very costly for its customers to have to get fixed so they went with manuel instead
My wife and I are getting our Palisade next week! Cant wait
I'd put the gauge cluster on the palisade up against any other vehicles. Absolutely incredible. Spaceship with wheels
When you see these out on the road the wheels are very tiny and make the vehicles look weird. The width of the wheels mainly make the it that way. I think if the wheel s were a bit wider it would make a lot difference.
As long as they dont burst into flames overnight in your garage..400K more Kias & Hyundais recalled on top of the already large amount.
And when the cars need parts, they could sit at the dealership for months waiting for parts to come from Korea. Buyer beware.
You guys give the best reviews. I picked the 2022 Telluride from watching one of your vids. Keep up the good work! My wife is looking at the new MDX and the new Q60.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear we helped! Hopefully we will have a QX60 video coming soon 👍
The MDX is sweet!
Palisade all the way exterior and interior
Telluride 2020 world car of the year winner, palisade push button transmission big zonk for me
Also remember the Palisade has the puddle lights for safety at night.
I could pick between these 2 sibling cars but could never pick between you two siblings because you're both awesome. 👍🏼
Lol 😂
Excellent video, I prefer the Telluride!
They Shoulda had added led fog lights on the Hyundai Palisade & also folded mirrors
I am confused on which one to go for 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Nice review keep up the good work
The fact you still can't get a digital cluster in the Telluride even at its top trim is surprising especially since the Sorento has it...
Listen people. They are the same cars and neither is better than the other. Just comes down to preference.
Both are really nice but I prefer the palisade
I have the 2020 telluride, and I love it
I'll take the Kia exterior and the Hyundai interior please
Ilove my palisade but I also like the telluride 😁
I kinda changed my mind I go Hyundai
excellent review great comparisons, I used this info to gauge my purchase the telluride howver is cheaper the nightfall is a color accent trim package no real add on should not count in pricing lol
Thanks!
I still prefer the Telluride because of the steering wheel where I can place my hands anywhere to drive.
Very nice review. Good detail and comparison
Perfect video. Thank you!
Great comparison video.
Thanks!
I wish these two get a hybrid trim next year. Now that will be interesting
Another vote for Palisade interior in the Telluride
Bith are awesome, so thats why I choose Carnival
So many brands have absolutely ground to a halt and there are no cars for us to review at all. So we simply have to review what we can get our hands on
@@CarConfections Thanks for the explanation, Makes perfect sense, had no idea the chip shortage and other supply chain issues are having such a huge impact. Hoping things start to improve soon. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
You should use the same song when sharing how the speakers sound.
What makes these 2 vehicles worth as much as a ram 1500??
Are these cars quieter than a Lexus es 2015? Just curious.
Congratulations on hitting 250k subscribers 👍
Thank you, Matt!
