4:13 that 2nd one is hilarious. cracking up at the massive sounds of over-revving and gears clunking & clanging. the parking space must be enormous too . the bloke couldn't wait to get off and hand him over to that woman. in the 1st one, when he'd already hit it, and kept on pushing harder..bloody funny. he must have pushed half the cars in the street another yard or two down the road !! . classic stuff.
Tonywization Yes he was and is still remembered fondly by so many people. Hope you've seen my recent Arthur uploads (Scared To Cross The Road) and the sequel to Arthur's Alibi (Sheila's Alibi).
coecludd Yes I have seen both of the videos and they are excellent thanks for posting them and all the others.I liked most of the presenters but Arthur was my absolute favourite his ad libs and acting during the sketches was pure genius and we should have seen more of him.As you say sadly missed.
Some years ago, somewhere on here, I read that you said he was your uncle. At the time he was still with us and I know that he passed away a few years ago. Arthur was the star of Candid Camera for me as a kid in the 80s watching these clips on VHS with my grandfather. His sketches - particularly this one - were the most genuinely funny and as much as I loved watching all of the stars of the show, Arthur was the only one able to remain completely straight-faced and deadpan at all times. What did your uncle Arthur do when not on the TV? I've read that he had a trendy wine bar (Spirals) in the 80s that was frequented by many famous people. Was he a publican? So many questions about a man who was such a familiar face but I knew nothing about.
In this era, people were a lot more pleasant and were willing to lend a hand, nowadays there are only a handful of people like me who would help, the others would ignore u or either rob ur belongings

Love that old Vauhall Cresta, a big, fancy car in it's day, worked on them as a young mechanic in the 70's.

Arthur...'I got in alright though' HA HA HA
Arthur Atkins was made for this role. One of the funniest programmers around at the time.
Best programme on tv in 70s my mum was specs off and tissues out to dry tears
I like to think that this is the learner driver from the other sketch, after he's passed his test, and before he lands the job as a car park driver.
Back, back, back a bit ..STOP !! ...CRASH !! LOL Priceless .
