  • What is the cognitive function Extraverted Intuition or Ne for short? Extraverted Intuition (Ne) is the dominant cognitive function used by ENFP and ENTP, and Extraverted Intuition (Ne) is the auxiliary function for INFP and INTP in the Myers Briggs MBTI 16 personalities system. In this video I'll define Extraverted Intuition as Carl Jung, Van Der Hoop, and Myers and Briggs defined the cognitive function. I'll then discuss the themes and definition of Extraverted Intuition (Ne). If you are a xNxP type (ENFP, ENTP, INFP, INTP) then you use Extraverted Intuition as a potential strength in the MBTI system.

    This explains so much to me. My inability to stay satisfied in a job after learning the ropes. My love of my cake decorating career I finally chose. The hours are random, the days are never the same, I'm always learning new techniques, and I get to use my imagination almost daily. And yeah, I've done the whole, "I forgot to eat" thing. One day (in wedding season) my boss had to kick me out of my corner for a break cause I had been there for 9 hours at that point without stopping for food or even a quick sit down. Great times. Love the chaos.

    You're my favorite UA-camr right now! INFP here and this feels so spot on for me. I had this absolute DREAM job that I landed a while back, but it eventually became suffocating because it held me back from exploring other things I wanted to do. Took a leap of faith and quit. Now, I'm living another dream by working fully remote, but I'm feeling stuck in freeze mode. The possibilities are endless, and it's just overwhelming. Do you have any advice for those who get bored with daily routines, but at the same time completely fall apart without any structure?

      WORK meticulously to NOTICE the value of structures and time blocks.
      And I mean _WORK._ That's what will etch it into your brain. Make it available as an automatic context. It'll be the hardest in the beginning. Less so with more work on it, as you begin to automatize it - your previous work will pay off. Don't let go until you've achieved full automatization. That is, you don't have to make almost any conscious effort to see the value clearly. Now it'll demand effort to _not_ have structures! :-)
      Be sure before you've started working that you're not feeling FORCED by the "structure"/time-block. You don't want to be disciplining yourself (exerting willpower). So *TAKE THE TIME* before you start, to do the motivational, value-clarifying work I talked about: sit and think in detail WHAT IS THE VALUE that you get and will get by working on the thing that you set to work on; also why is working in a structured way a value in itself, too. _Really_ think it through. Expend the effort, do the work. Especially those first times, it'll be very necessary. You're doing something you've not done before. It's _literally_ changing your brain, you're _literally_ becoming a different individual. That's the work of automatizing seeing the value (i.e. that which will drive/motivate you; so you don't have to force yourself, expend willpower, which is a very limited resource) - something that you currently don't possess, is foreign to you; as evidenced by your lack of motivation.
      If someone told you to get outside to receive a gift of 10 thousand dollars, would you not rush immediately? You would, because you see the great value, and it's clear how to get it, and it is achievable. You don't need willpower, you don't need disciplining/forcing yourself to do it. You rush out of DESIRE, lust, greed. That's the right emotion for action, not fear!
      In Objectivism, they call it motivation by love (read: value, desire, interest, curiosity, 'greed') vs. by fear.
      Don't use force. Don't initiate the use of force not only against others, but against yourself, too! Be a voluntarist in every way.
      Learn to motivate yourself by making the value clear, vivid and powerful in your mind. CLARITY!
      Bonus: when you _achieve,_ through focused work, the enormous value/wealth of being able to motivate yourself, you also get almost directly (just a bit of additional skill required) the ability to motivate others: your employees, your children. Now you don't have to force. You just paint the value vividly for them, make it clear what they'll gain; you motivate, make them lust after it, you don't "discipline".
      This skill, the ability to motivate oneself, is the greatest gift a parent could give their child. But to be able to give it, you have to have it. *You cannot give what you don't have.* A law of nature. :-)

    There's this song called ''Try Everything'' featured in a Disney movie called ''Zootopia'' and i feel like that song perfectly encapsulates Ne as a function in a way that's very easy to understand.

    INTP - I had snakes, tarantulas and a 3m tank with large iridescent sharks. I used to hop between jobs every 10 or so months until I studied law and mediation. It's demanding but always a new case on the rise. Just found your channel and love your videos! It's accurate with lots of novel information on things I thought I fully understood before. Sometimes I feel like Ne is a curse, maybe my Ti/Si judges it, but videos like this help me see the good impact we all make using it.

    Wow you really nailed it with the NE hobby roller skating thing. Bite-sized, encapsulated sensory that is socially solitary. I love to do it and I'm afraid I'm going to stop so I just do it once a week. I never get good enough to be bored.

    I associate the pink or purple hair with Fi authenticity. You also see it a lot with ISFP's. Therefore, to me it's not Ne but I see the confusion because many NFP's do paint their hair.

      That's interesting! I would associate dyed hair more with Ne possibilities than being authentic as it's a fake hair color, but that slide is just a caricature and any type can do anything, just differing motivations

    Hello 👋🏿 I’m trying to figure out if I’m Fi or Fe dominant. I’ve taken the test multiple and I’ve gotten INFP,ENFJ and INFJ, INTJ and ENFP. But mostly INFP and ENFJ. I’ve been watching your videos and Fe resonates more for me than Fi but I sometimes feel like I’m an INFP acting like an ENFJ or vise versa 😂. Any help?! Love your videos by the way ❤! Love how clear and concise you are while doing your videos!

    • @colochossalvajes
      @colochossalvajes 11 місяців тому +2

      @@AlexisKingsley Well personally ive resonated alot with FE, Ni,Ne Se, SI Fi, Ti, Te. I like the description of ENFJ so I don't want to say I'm a ENFJ because i feel like im being bias XD. But while watching your videos I remember that in one of them you said that If when we were a child we were an Extrovert than you are an extrovert type. Afterwards changed and as I grew up became more introverted due to trauma and adhd. Plus my family are all introverts and im the you people would always say i was different. I'm 28 now and I hate being alone, and I am always looking to make new friends, or to interact with people or i love the idea of having a lot of friends. But dont feel like i connect with people, I also like leadership roles. I resonated so much with enfj video you did, but not so much with the INFP. Though I do see in me alot of INFP behaviors.

      @@AlexisKingsley Also I tend to put on a pedestal people i love and care about. I remeber at 8 years old thinking my mom was perfect, I still have this problem though.

      Question: does it bother you NOT knowing for sure your type?

    • @colochossalvajes
      @colochossalvajes 11 місяців тому +1

      @@filipposa212 It does, I sometimes feel and think that I’m an INfP but by the stereotypes I tend to push away of the idea that I’m selfish. When I think or act like ENFJ I end up feel like “who do I think I am?” And the negative spiral comes out 😅. I’m not I. The healthiest emotional state. But I want to understand myself better and be able to understand others and why is it so difficult for me to connect with others etc.
