"Is boredom really the worst thing in life?" Yes, yes it is. It is the bane of my existence, and I simply must be challenged pretty much at all times. And it is actually super annoying might I add! I SO wish I could be okay with repetitiveness or simplicity, but I literally become super depressed without chaos and/or excitement most of the time.
The most singular thing about us ENTP’s is our happy refusal to let others dictate how we engage with “reality”. Our very presence in this enraged, hate-filled world is annoying.
I feel your wrong about the motivation for the need to win an argument. As a true Poster Child for an ENTP our egos don’t need to win because don’t attach self to ideas. We love the debate to chalkenge and learn. The more we find someone worthy to debate the more we lean in. The people that just feel all the time aren’t worth debating.
ENTP here, I don't want to be always right. Actually its quite the opposite. Even though for me as a very smart guy its oftentimes hard to find smarter people and new arguments but I very appreciate being not right because this way I learn new things and different point of views. So what you are telling around minute 12 is just false (backed up by some other comments here already).
@@iris6068 I appreciate your answer. You know, ENTP speak out thoughts to get disapproval and new points of view, thats how they learn. I didnt say that I know everything, that would be bs. Please keep in mind, even we have the save result in a personality test, we are not the same person :) Back to the topic: ENTP don't like when everyone agrees to their plan or opinion, because they could imagine that there may is something better. ENTP love discussions, learning and experiencing something new. That wouldn't be possible when they have a fixed opinion about everything. So saying "ENTP want to be always right" is just wrong.
So true !! If I find someone who can present to me a new perspective and it is more logical or “right” then what I thought initially, I will really grow to respect and admire that person
Entp, totally agree with ur comment. Its hard for me to find people that prove me wrong but when I do I love it. My sister is quite intelligent and when I debate with her about things she is much more informed than me and wins some arguments I like to learn from that. She kinda gets annoyed at me for always debating against her but its not really that I want to fight her arguments I just want to push her thoughts out and gather valuable information.
"Do you think they know they're wrong" hmm "They gotta know"... Ti affirms that our actions are wrong, however words have many meanings and "wrong" can also be a feeling. Fe tells us that it doesn't feel wrong so "I wouldn't call it wrong". Meaning I emotionally don't feel wrong (bad, shame) for doing it. Ti picks which definition for the word wrong we are wanting, that way we aren't wrong (factually) in the debate. lol This gets even worse when Fe picks its definitions based on the people around us. So wrong becomes very subjective meaning we can never be wrong because we will just pick and choose the meaning to fit our argument. And with Fi shadow limiting our morals its easy to never feel wrong (bad, shame), unless we experience high pressure from Fe.
I’ve tested variously as an INTP and INTJ but all the ENTP material hits home the most, especially these weaknesses which basically describe my life up until my late 20s. Growing up in a religious family full of INFJs did not make for easy going. And the part about showing a different side of yourself to different friendship groups, family etc was true from about 9 when I stopped with all the questions to smooth everything over. The questions never went away. I could go into more detail but don’t want to bore you. Suffice to say that at 38 I’ve since got married to an ISFJ, had an amazing daughter (who is definitely showing ENTP tendencies) and have a good career. But anything worth having in my life has required hard work to control my ne tendencies. The questions never go away…
I think Ti is more lawful than it is Moral and I think apart of making those laws for yourself isn't in strict adherence it's in finding the technicalities and accounting for them by challenging why it should be used. This can come across as and become morality but is more technical in its creation and I think the difference is important for ENTPs to recognize
I think the cheating and not being trustworthy part is from their "attachment style" and not their personality type. I think ENTPs are probably one of the most loyal and trustworthy of the types at our core and when we're healthy, and we want a deeper connection that we can share bc we're always internalizing everything alone otherwise. That could just be me, but I really doubt it. I'm also a type 6 in the enneagram aka "the loyalist" with a 5 wing making me "the defender" and it's hard for me to believe other ENTPs are that much different than me in that regard. Anybody can cheat habitually regardless of personality type bc that goes more by attachment style, and any type can have any attachment style I would imagine. All of your other insights are spot on though. Sometimes I wonder if we all had early childhood trauma that made us this way bc we're always picking up everyone's energy and emotions subconsciously, and then we internalize it and even though we're extroverted and so good at talking to people... I think we' all have a strong introverted nature and that's why we can talk about anything, like hella random shit... it's bc we're always thinking of different things and we like to argue/debate so much, bc we're always arguing and debating ourselves internally and we've figured a lot of things out. I think that's why most of the ones you know are lawyers or use their intellects. Our conversational skills and charisma combined with always thinking about something makes us naturally good lawyers. I'm curious how many stand up comedians are ENTPs. I bet a lot.
I don't speak for all ENTPs when I say this but for most of us boredom IS the worst possible thing that could befall us in life and by the time we realize it we are looking for that one thing to satisfy us. And the idea of just sticking with something longer isn't discipline its torture. We have a hard time balancing our feelings against what we're doing unless where engaged with it and when the only prerequisite to getting a "yes" is if it's interesting and everything interests us they'll be a lot of holes to fall through. And since "no" is more reliable than "yes" its easier to start off and pick after the fact. That's why the best way for us to grow healthier is by examining things better before and after starting something. Especially in relationships. But satisfaction from staying pales in comparison to doing something we'd enjoy and enjoyment is not the same as being continent
To use your grass analogy. "I should have a yard I don't mind gardening in, one from which I will garden instinctually without having to will myself to do so"
You asked if ENTPs know they're in the wrong when they have undeveloped Ti. So to explain my experience as an ENTP; When I was a young teen I was very arrogant and REALLY thought I was right all the time. I didn't realise I was using these "dirty" tricks and methods to win debates etc... So I genuinely believed I was right. As I got older and started to develop my Ti I realised I wasn't right about the subject of a conversation, just the method to WIN the convo. Nowadays I try to avoid doing that but I can still catch myself manipulating people or situations to my advantage without realising it. Like trapping people into saying specific things or trapping them in to doing certain things. We have a potential manipulative side which we can use without really noticing if we're undeveloped. Since we view almost everything as a logical question, it makes it easy to go, what should I say/hint/do to this person to make xyz happen. When we overdevelop our Te and become able to read people very well we can become quite dangerous. Trying to focus on my Ti and Si so I can resolve these imbalances
I genuinely believe that the younger ENTP can be more on the unhealthy side and as we reach our 40's we can and often do become healthy ENTP's. No idea why....but It is a work in progress for sure. Just my personal experience as one.
After watching Bojack horseman (a series on Netflix), I realised how Bojack is such a great example of an unhealthy ENTP. You literally described him here. Great work!
ENTP here. Male. 40s. Add ADHD. So, the things you're talking about with the impulse control sounds like unmanaged ADHD. Money management is a conscious effort. Alcohol / drugs are not an issue for me because, as an ENTP I find they conflict with my ability to engage with the truth. Truth above all. Unpleasant truths are opportunities to improve. Loyalty to a partner is an issue that might tie to ADHD, but again this calls back to truth. Integrity is a major concern for a lot of people. No one is perfect, but basic integrity is a simple choice. Now, the loophole / letter of the argument type of tactic is valid to hamstring bad-faith arguments. But ONLY bad-faith arguments. However, just because it's valid doesn't mean you should use it. On occasion it can be used to break the flow, but if they don't work to re-center the discussion, then they're a**holes in most circumstances. And I know I'm right. Because ENTP -- ;P
To answer your question of do we know or really believe we aren't wrong... Yes and no. I can see the cheating incident being felt as "well what you would have to compromise to have sex with someone else makes it cheating but I'm not like you and I didn't have to compromise those same values or whatever because I don't operate like that myself therefor it's not cheating when I do it..." That or justifying doing something to someone else because we honestly wouldn't care if you did it to us, in fact, we may encourage you to do what society says is taboo... so yes we know according to you and the blanket definition of this thing that it's "wrong" but it doesn't really seem fair that it's wrong for us to do some of these things on just a basic level.
Yeah, when my Ti was less developed (I feel being a women forces you to lean into Fe more when you’re young), I would use a lot of these loopholes. I would justify stealing by saying “the big companies are stealing our money too” I would justify flirting/leading men on by saying “I’m just being friendly. I never said I liked them.” I would justify doing drugs by conducting research on the safest ways to consume them. I would justify cheating instead of studying in school by saying “they don’t care if we learn. We just need good grades.” I would justify lying by saying “telling the truth will just make them mad when they don’t need to be”
Honestly, it’s kind of a blessing to be an ENTP. We can charm our way through anything and twist any situation to our advantage. While others are stuck overthinking their choices, we’re out here playing chess when everyone else is playing checkers. Who needs empathy when you have strategy?
I’m a victim of the grass is always greener… I’m also a victim of the dopamine boast of finding newer shinier toys. It’s so exciting I don’t want to get bored and locking up for a 20 year sentence- I would die. I cannot believe I have to slow down…
When I'm bored and my husband is being introverted for too long and is ignoring all my shenanigans, I'll start an argument just to spice things up. Not proud but PAY ATTENTION TO ME.
hm for the comment on Ti about using dirty tactics and ignoring subtext etc, I think we do that as a form of negative help to improve the other person's precision of speech/communication. It can definitely come off as arrogant and asshole-like which could be improved, but I don't think that picking apart the comments in general is a bad thing that should be censored, it should be retained in order to help the other person grow.
Hahah I’m very glad that I am on the healthier end of the ENTP spectrum. I am working on allowing boredom in my career and maintaining stable relationships. I find it’s harder to maintain relationships since I haven’t found people that are as curious about me as I am about them so I get bored. Maybe it’s about finding the right people or do I have high expectations?
The fact that the most compassionate type is also likely a drunk with a gambling issue is proof that the ENTP hypothesis on life is correct: God is a comedian and this life is a hellscape.
Thanks for this video. I've realized that, in a way, my Si has been develop. But!... INTJs and ENTPs has the same problem. "Well, I made it and I'm done doing this. So, is there anybody on this planet whom could possibly could take care of my baby business????!!!!" Who to rely on??? And that's a struggle, you know.
Btw, I was a cheater in the past but now I despise that and I've been loyal for 15 years in a row without even considering being a cheater. I'm not a gambler and never have been one, but whenever I'm going to a casino, rarely I do, I always win. I'm not interested on that. The other two, well, kinda 🤦🏻♂️ But not so much. Having an INTJ on my side is a bliss.
ENTP: We are funny! We are smart! We like to play with people! We like to burn stuff! We will do what is forbidden cuz its fun!.....that sound nice...but my brain really works more like....a galactic worm in my switch will be a better leader than my cat, if you sleep four years in 20 minutes, do your hair will grow so much you can roll over your own dead cell?....we are weird
Do any other ENTP’s have a struggle with being disorganized and have a messy home and car? Are there any ENTP’s here who have a really clean organized home and car? I feel so overwhelmed and I don’t like it.
Watching this with my ENTP bf talking about his opinions being right or wrong, and legit he says “but I’m not wrong!” He doesn’t believe he’s ever wrong 😭 he also thinks it’s wrong to be emotional about stuff above factual logic help this ENFP talk some sense into this man!
He Probably Thinks He's Right. We Think We're Right. BUT If Its Opinion Bases WE ALSO THINK Everyone Should Think They're Right & Be Able To Discuss, Detail Or Debate The Depth Of Why. We Will Only Say We Are Wrong If We Are Factually Wrong OR If The Person Defends Their Position & It Tracks Logically & Objectively To Either We Understand Them And They're Right OR We Understand It & We Learned Something.

can entp‘s ask alot of questions? I ask alot pf questions all the time, not about important stuff, I usualy figure out important stuff by myself. but in a conversation, I ask ALOT of questions. mostly because I don‘t want to correct others, but think that they are wrong. so it is kinda manipulativ, but really without a bad intention.
Fake? All our adaptations to new irdifferent people and environments is our glowing and flowing natural state. We mature and get even better in our authenticity, we surround ourselves with the most interesting and caring people. I love being an ENTP. What you refer to as shortcuts are brilliant simple moves, we are lazy, and love to have time for what we enjoy. What is wrong with not sticking around ? We learn so many trades! And people. And with trades and people comes self confidence and self satisfaction. Information is the key. Same job for20 years?? We ENTPs, specially during alone time we are very balanced hedonists, love our own company the best I do not want to slow down, I can have it all I like you , you are taking about your own feelings and world perceptions … Bit well, I teatrera do not mind if you use me. Warmly, M
Thank you for this video. Even tho my wife and I have been married for 4 years she still gets emotionally irrational whenever I remind her that she agreed to a harem when she married me. Every time I attempt to bring more wives into our family she gets too annoying. I think she is more sad than mad tho which is better probably. I will show her this video tonight and tell her I am an ENTP which probably would explain away all the worries she has. Mental health is very important you can’t really blame someone for what they do tbh
I have cheated but that's bc I didn't know what I wanted and God knows I did everything I could plus she cheated first. I did like other females pictures but I was young. Anyways you live and learn
Most men cheat if they have the option to, ENTPs are just very good at not feeling guilty as long as they don't get caught. The thing I've realised about people who tend to study personality types is that even though they tend to be good at what they do their world view clouds their judgement
There was an ENTP guy showing interest in me as an ISFP, and it's literally hard to believe them cause it's like they don't stick to one thing and they're not even aware of that behavior. Good luck alexis !! P.s I found out my type after 5 months of researching, just by watching your vids, they're so professional 👌❤
That passion of being able to stay true to your things and ideas is what make xSFP attractive to me. I have that same issue with an ISFP girl, she simply couldn't trust me because I'm always wandering in this abstract realm of "there is no wrong or right" and that makes me too unpredictable even tho I'd never cheated or hurt anyone on purpose before. For some reason that doesn't happen with ESFPs, we just complement perfectly
I’ve always found it incredibly difficult to trust ENTPs. Their slick nature automatically made me suspicious of their motives. It doesn’t help that more often than not they were up to some shady stuff
We DeFiNiTeLy know when we're wrong and using dirty tactics and stretching definitions of words and shit. 🤣🤣🤣 That's when our defense mechanisms are up or we're unhealthy and it happens subconsciously, but right when we say it we know what we did. There's some people I'll come clean to later after I've stepped back from the situation and I want them to know what I did and that is was bc I was defensive or mad or whatever... and then there's other people I'd never apologize to or tell them what I did and I'm happy I gaslit them. 🤣 We're a cold piece of work. 🦂
I always related the addiction and cheating tendencies to my ADHD. It's my tendency to eventually conflate my partner with the monotony of everyday life. It drives me nuts. It's also the idea of someone controlling me. I value freedom and a relationship usually involves a lot of rules. Turns out ethical nonmonogamy is perfect for my partner and I because I get to retain my freedom and independence, and also have to learn to understand & communicate my emotions Also, when it comes to jobs.. I tend to get excited about something, get really good at it, then become bored and hate it. Every time! Solid observations. -ENTP

The other two, well, kinda 🤦🏻♂️
But not so much.
I feel so overwhelmed and I don’t like it.
i enjoyed your conversation very much guys, thank you! i'm going to infps now to get roasted xD
My family is allright my dad is an entp like me and my sister is an enfp and my isfj mom is the most frustrating she wants order and structure and specific details like idfk what route i took to work i just walk the same one but my mom be like which street did you take and where
Entps dont blackship
They are just blackship Against father
Like entp me

Which i shouldnt take but both of my parents doctors so..
Almost my graduation time
Until
One subject
I helped making my familys future extra bussiness 70%...
Meanwhile 2 year loss
Suddenly i caught up my self in severe si grip
Taking one year loss
Suddenly my istp father
Gossips he is taking drug
(He is kind of psudo military mind set)
Next thing i did
Didnt take the last xm
He brought relatives
A good entp is can be very bad
High ne took every memery in my life until 4 years age i think
I just throw his dark gossips to the relatives
Only chaos can keep entp back in the family
Though even hero between the chaos eventually takes a black tail always
Actually entp should make his biggest life decision from 20s
Intelligence needs ti si both
Entp lack of one function half
Again infjs are more misunderstood
Entp me lesson learn day by day that
Shouldn’t brainstrom with people even throw a joky comment about reputation
N many things
But all i can say that
Entps are path maker
Estp more like path commander that entp needs

You can’t spell entrepreneur without ENTP
Or BENTPENIS
@@MycketTuffrofl 😭
You trying to tell us something?
Yeah just don’t expect us to finish projects on time! 😭😭😭
can entp‘s ask alot of questions? I ask alot pf questions all the time, not about important stuff, I usualy figure out important stuff by myself. but in a conversation, I ask ALOT of questions. mostly because I don‘t want to correct others, but think that they are wrong. so it is kinda manipulativ, but really without a bad intention.
I Hate To Argue But The Most Common Type That Mistypes As An ENTP Is The ENFP. Actually I Was Lying, I Love To Argue. lol
Definitely
It's true though
We ENTPs, specially during alone time we are very balanced hedonists, love our own company the best
I do not want to slow down, I can have it all
I like you , you are taking about your own feelings and world perceptions … Bit well, I teatrera do not mind if you use me.
Warmly,
M
Thank you for this video. Even tho my wife and I have been married for 4 years she still gets emotionally irrational whenever I remind her that she agreed to a harem when she married me. Every time I attempt to bring more wives into our family she gets too annoying. I think she is more sad than mad tho which is better probably. I will show her this video tonight and tell her I am an ENTP which probably would explain away all the worries she has. Mental health is very important you can’t really blame someone for what they do tbh
If I wanted to cheat I would just ask my girlfriend for permission. If she says no that’s ok, I guess we’ll be boring 😂
I have cheated but that's bc I didn't know what I wanted and God knows I did everything I could plus she cheated first. I did like other females pictures but I was young. Anyways you live and learn
Truth and honesty can be very annoying.
Most men cheat if they have the option to, ENTPs are just very good at not feeling guilty as long as they don't get caught. The thing I've realised about people who tend to study personality types is that even though they tend to be good at what they do their world view clouds their judgement
Hello INFJ, don't be sad, you'll find a better ENTP.
Gostei muito do vídeo.
Yeah, I rarely find any I can trust.
@@foxnharo I think ESFPs are bold and they don't have any problem to take risks or show their interests
All of it
I’ve always found it incredibly difficult to trust ENTPs. Their slick nature automatically made me suspicious of their motives. It doesn’t help that more often than not they were up to some shady stuff
Leave the INTJs and INFJs for us, the rest of you are too flimsy.
Infidelity, gambling, bankruptcy
Turns out ethical nonmonogamy is perfect for my partner and I because I get to retain my freedom and independence, and also have to learn to understand & communicate my emotions
Also, when it comes to jobs.. I tend to get excited about something, get really good at it, then become bored and hate it. Every time!
Solid observations.
