Manson sexually assaults women, so don't want to be like him. There are far better covers of this song.
Moby's version is pretty good too, although a pretty different tone from most other versions.

The song is about how we all will come before God in the end and sinners will always get their just deserts.
It wasn't a folk song it was a 'negro' spiritual popularised by the Golden Gate Quartet in '46. A great song with a prophetic message. All the best and God bless.
