Yes, this is inspired by the spirit, but NOT THE Holy Spirit. Anything that mocks God in any format is from the pit of hell. I am your age and long ago when Jesus Christ paid for the sins of mankind on the Cross, He saved me. I wouldn't dare mock Him and any songs that were written to glorify Him by adding heavy metal to it. If you were truly saved, you'd cringe at such a mockery of things like this.

Im Orthodox, however, I love this hymn and when I clicked on this I expected to not like a “rock” version but this is good. We need more songs like this…Christ has already conquered hell and death and one day every knee will bow before him and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Until then we need Christian soldiers…who aren’t afraid to carry the cross before them without apology.

If something is demonic in nature it will utter blasphemies, lies and heresies to dissuade people away from the gospel, but it will not intentionally drive people toward the gospel. Satan has power over this world, but it and everything in it belongs to the Creator alone, including every conceivable combination of soundwaves that makes up music. If indeed anything has been 'claimed' by the enemy, it is claimed falsely as a thief or squatter does. But God is mightier than the thief and comes in and binds him, plundering the enemy and setting the captives free; likewise, we as Christians are to go out into the world and change it from within (such as in music of any genre), conquering it in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus. As the hymn eloquently states after all:
Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!

Im Orthodox, however, I love this hymn and when I clicked on this I expected to not like a “rock” version but this is good. We need more songs like this…Christ has already conquered hell and death and one day every knee will bow before him and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Until then we need Christian soldiers…who aren’t afraid to carry the cross before them without apology.
