2:35 That was a curve ball... All the video's so far have taught me that this is you turning right, so I certainly didn't expect you to turn left here 😄

You know the load is long when you need a set of binoculars to see the back of the trailer, Doug.

Back around 2009-2010 they were setting up the wind farm at Salisbury, New Brunswick and unloading everything at the Port of Saint John, New Brunswick. To get everything there they had to close down the Saint John Harbour Bridge and use the West bound lane of the bridge to get the convoy across and then remove the concrete center median to get the convoy back into the East bound lanes and get thew barriers back in place before the morning rush started, this went on for about 10 days starting at about 4 am, they moved a complete wind turbine a day. Great video.

A lot more planning goes into these big moves than people realize! And I know we disrupt traffic so the general public doesn’t always compassion for us. Part of the game. Thanks for following 😊

Still doing catch-up here😂. When I watched a video of one of the ALE Heavylift, they had a transformer (around 400 ton+/-), and they had to disconnect the front tractor, and the rear tractor would then haul it, backwards, about half a mile or more, then re-connect the front tractor, to then turn left on its journey. I'm now watching your bit on ice road trucking😂😂

Wind turbines seems like an excellent opportunity to use the new heavy lift blimps coming out

You guys hiring? 12 years of driving. Delivering beer. Never done the heavy haul game but that’s where I want to be!!

If you are from the Quebec area we are always hiring. But you can expect a few years of regular flatbed work until they trust you with the bigger stuff. Good luck 👍

@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 thanks for the information! Seems like other companies have no patience for drivers not from the industry. But how are you suppose to learn if you’re never given a chance. Much appreciated!

My advise is to apply at companies who you regular flatbed as well as oversize. They can start you on the regular stuff and you can move up when you’re ready without changing companies. Good luck!

I was involved in one around the Salisbury area last year. The parts came out of the port in St John. It was actually an old project and they were replacement parts

Did wind catch the trailer at any point? Did driving straight put a side load on the trailer from the curve of the blade ?

Good questions but none of the above! Maybe I wouldn’t want to drive through a hurricane but under normal conditions aerodynamics is a non issue

Maybe place two cameras on the roof of truck, one facing forward & one facing rearward. Also put a microphone on the outside passenger side of the truck, as well as one on the trailer. Then tie it all together for the video. 🙏🏻
