"Here's the Singing Bass Player" 😂😂😂
What exactly did he mean im slow
@panic007 basically every band that has a clean vocalist is the bassist, bless the fall, fit for a king ect
@@Savitzenthe bassist in blessthefall does the screams tho😂
@@tjsmb1493 yeah I know that they're reversed with BTF, but the statement still stands with what they're talking about
What song are they talking about
I remember the dueling singing drummers of From Autumn to Ashes and Atreyu.
Boundaries now too
I miss fata!
And Aaron from Underoath of course!
@@bronsontolliver9027 Funeral for a friend too. Well when they didn't suck.
I get what Sam is saying but if the lead singer can only do clean singing but you want some vocal fry or growling vocals, whatever you call it then two singers would be in order. I also agree it would have to be done in such a way where it doesn't sound obvious or over produced, it has to sound natural, cohesive and authentic.
agreed, i don't think it's a fair dig to get on those that have a lead vocalist and a co-vocalist that plays an instrument. imo it adds a different and interesting dynamic at times that I like with bands that do actually do it.
i rock with sam and architects heavy (singles for the new album are killer asf), but let's not act like they kinda did the same thing on 'deep fake' with josh on backing vocals. i liked it and felt like they should've done more with that tbh, so it really shouldn't be a nitpick or cliche.
Seeing Sam rocking a Detroit Tigers hat was unexpected, but made me happy. Lol
I love the thought process to execution involved here. Onya, Sam! 🤘
I thin Make them suffer or As I lay dying are good examples for this. Especially the former. The clean singing does seem totally disconnected and out of place
Underoath DRUMMER and BFMV BASSIST
BFMV bassist should just take over as the front man.
@@bennymountain1if that's the case it won't be bfmv anymore. Matt's voice = bfmv.
@@CanonBrahma2 Considering how much his voice has changed for the worst already, it's not bfmv as it is either.
I’ve never listened to this band but after this I will right now
Everything after the holy hell album is fucking trash. Their best album is all our gods have abandoned us. Masterpiece album. Their new material is fucking awful generic buttrock
I have literally no idea what point he's trying to make. My only guess is he's trying to flex that he can do it all on his own and doesn't need someone else to do cleans?
Which is just a weird thing to do unless you're literally a one man band.
*When done properly* having a second vocalist raises the song up and adds an entirely new level to the sound.
A7X with The Rev, Skillet with Jen Ledger, Make Them Suffer with all of their female backings, etc etc
Thats what hes saying....open your ears...some bands push the clean vocalist with the scream vocalist thing to much where its just expected in every song and sam makes a great point...its not always cohesive with some bands..its forced and expected which makes it kinda suck
“Don’t want the chorus to come out super hyper pop and pretty” yet that’s literally the chorus in Blackhole??? Idk man, I want to like the new stuff, but it’s just devoid of character.
They sold out. They were sooo good and now theyre like the shittiest band in metal. Generic buttcore.
Not a single band hasnt evolved over the years..sure they went the more generic produced way but to keep writing oghau or holly hell a million times youd bitch about that too
Man that song is mixed like sh*t. Why is it so flat and also oversaturated, especially in highs. Would be a cool song to headbang to if not that
Dooog

Archtects died after holy hell when the sold out to play generic buttcore.
I have to disagree. The new stuff feels more refreshing and has some pizazz compared to their older music. I was never into Architects because it always sounded generic and basic. There were a few good songs but that whole 2011-2018 stretch was awful. There were just better bands in the scene. If you want generic buttcore go listen to the older stuff or new Wage War.
Cry more mr edgelord
Debatable
Its almost like bands evolve and the people in the bands change as any himan does...name a band that hasnt ...and if they havent changed/ evolved no ones talking about them
@@fattyusmcchubbs9200lmao crazy I thought their older stuff was more technical and heavier. Their new stuff is generic 💀
