The TX-130 Saber-class Tank was the Republic fast attack and recon tank of the Clone Wars, alongside the AT-TE, it would face up against CIS ships and vehicles like the AAT, and live on into the Imperial era with a variety of Star Wars tanks leading up to the TX-225.

Yet enclosed turrets on starships are the norm. That little thing has always bothered me.
The AAT has an enclosed turret, so why wouldn’t any vehicle meant to counter it have one?
To be fair the at-te,at-ot and some other republic vehicles were probably used even before the Clone Wars broke out so when the war began, the republic didn’t have time to upgrade them so they used whatever they had available and palpatine probably did’t want to be to powerful.
What about the AT-AT, AT-ST, and compact assault vehicle?

I remember playing with this tank in the 2002 Clone Wars game, & the original Battlefront I & Battlefront II games. I’m glad this was brought back into canon for EA’s Battlefront II. Techincally this first appeared in the Boba Fett novel Crossfire before the Clone Wars game.

This is hands down the best tank the Republic came up with.
I feel like the best replacement for the original turret is either the mentioned astromech for cyberwarfare or swapping out the light blaster with a repeating ion cannon in a bubble turret like on the original Y-wing. Having a turrret up top for antipersonnel is useful generally, ion works just as good or better for antipersonnel when your main enemies are droids, AND then you can have the turret gunner soften up shielded targets more effectively so the main guns can take'em down more quickly.

Still it seems as though the cis AAT tank is better with both effectiveness and cost. Enough for the empire to still commission them, perhaps it’s do to the fact that the saber tank didn’t produce enough results like the AT-TE did
Why don't hover vehicles have an emergency wheeled or tread suspension in the event something happens and suddenly they're flat on the ground unable to move.

I think you should stop comparing republic weapons prices with separatists, the republic probably gets a price and under the table tax incentives/trade license for the manufacturer. The separatists pay everything upfront.

This and ATTE are my favorite vehicles from the CW era.
The Saber tank. I remember this legend carrying me in both Battlefront games from the early 2000s and the successor in the 2M Repulsor Tank from EAW. Absolutely legendary! Can't help but love this amazing fighter tank.
Same. It carried me plenty whenever I had to do last stands in Battlefront 2, either by stealing one from the enemy or getting lucky by grabbing one before the command post it spawned at gets captured.
Safe to say I have many, MANY memories of using it. Makes sense, as I'm very convinced it was the best tank in the game, by far.

Until this video, I always hated having to use this tank in EAs BF2, but now I know it’s because I’ve been using it as a heavy tank like the AAT. While granted it doesn’t have the same boost feature, it makes so much more sense knowing it’s better used as a more agile armored artillery unit. It wasn’t as bad as I thought, I was just using it wrong this whole time lol

The story of Hell's Hammers from the EU are a beloved one for me. The Imperial repulsor tank line were really good designs.
I still have Star Wars the clone wars 2002 game and loved the fighter tanks as I always thought it was a perfect blend between a tank/walker and a speeder bike. It truly was a one man multi role vehicle. Both this one and the one the CIS had in the game. Wish we could've seen it in the tv shows.
Wait 400km range but it cruses at 192km so barely over 2h of operational time if used flat out? i know that they probably wont do flat out for 2h but still that feels realy short range for a fast attack rig.

I personally like the idea of the TX-130t variant being used to push up into a hectic battlefield and drop off a 4 man clone commando team deep in enemy territory. Or use 2 of them to drop off a 10 man ARC trooper squad too

Love the saber tank from the battlefront games (old and new). And I am so glad you mentioned the imperial S1 firehawk heavy repulsortank. This is my favorite tank for the empire. Its fast, has heavy armor, and has a very accurate main gun that could easily shoot down airspeeders and low-flying starfighters, plus it had a range of 5km. Also had a medium blaster cannon with a 1km range in a secondary turret.

Honestly like the saber for a main vehicle over any walkers, the saber is super versatile and has some great mobility, of course the empire only upgraded it from there which makes it even cooler👌🏻
The EA version of the TX-130 from Battlefront II (2017) looks AWFUL compared to the original version of the TX-130 featured in Pandemic's games. Everything from the shape of the missile launchers, laser cannons, and the nose section is grossly oversimplified.
You inadvertently brought to light evidence of the rivalry between the Imperial Navy and the Imperial Army. For defense of the Death Star they used surplus TX-130s because the Imperial Army would not give up any of their walkers
So many Rothona tanks with such tiny horizontal fire arcs, I don’t get it.

Never heard of this tank, but wow is it cool and impressive.
Oh jeez I remember first seeing this in the old battlefront 1 and using it to kill the A.I. heros, running them over was one of the only ways to get the kill for them

I remember in the OG battlefront1 the clone trooper variant launched its missiles separately and the imperial version fired them both in a salvo. Plus they had different laser colors. Good times

LOL world of tanks is no realistic, they have more paper tanks than real ones now days and even tanks based on real world vehicles don't work like they did in real world.
Its not completely bleak but its been made for arcade sim, and if that was the only problem with the game it'd be a small one.
But the Devs massively try to insentience paying money for tanks and gold ammo just to stay relevant, fewer and fewer tech tanks are worth it compared to the overpowered premium tanks who often get nerfed after enough of them sell.
Their loot box scams in both world of tanks and warships are known widely as the scummiest outside of EA but if you don't want to play hard its a decent game with a toxic fanbase problem, and no way to report bad actors properly as chinese farming services operate under the nose of the staff (check youtube)

This tank is Star Wars' version of the Warthog from Halo, it's small, light, packs a punch and seems to be used everywhere by nearly everyone.
I really do not understand what was the point of that tracked "tank" in that ambush scene in the city from Rogue One. The dang thing was very low to the ground already and yet they added the main weapons to the sides of the tracks which made it impractical to shoot targets in most if not all environments. Even worse was that the weapon layout was meant for a hover tank which gave it the height and maneuverability to use said weapons but they used it on a tracked vehicle instead.
There is a hover variant of that tank, which we haven't seen used anywhere, but the tank itself is fine, just weird that they wanted a tracked vehicle for the empire though I think an imperial saber tank with an enclosed hover trailed being pulled behind it would have been the best way to do it
Late comment, but I think it is possible, that somebody messed up and showed the tracks that were there to move the setpiece.

When you were on the scout bike or staap I think if you got close to a wall or barrier you’d clip into the 2D/3D character model you were controlling, the inside of master Kenobis head still haunts me to today.
I personally think we could really use a Star Wars game that plays like the World of games. Imagine in a Galaxy of Warships game flying around in a Venator fighting Star Destroyers or Providence ships. Or a tank counterpart where you get to play as a Wookiee missile vehicle fighting against people in Hailfire droids.
