To be fair the at-te,at-ot and some other republic vehicles were probably used even before the Clone Wars broke out so when the war began, the republic didn’t have time to upgrade them so they used whatever they had available and palpatine probably did’t want to be to powerful.
I remember playing with this tank in the 2002 Clone Wars game, & the original Battlefront I & Battlefront II games. I’m glad this was brought back into canon for EA’s Battlefront II. Techincally this first appeared in the Boba Fett novel Crossfire before the Clone Wars game.
The Saber tank. I remember this legend carrying me in both Battlefront games from the early 2000s and the successor in the 2M Repulsor Tank from EAW. Absolutely legendary! Can't help but love this amazing fighter tank.
Same. It carried me plenty whenever I had to do last stands in Battlefront 2, either by stealing one from the enemy or getting lucky by grabbing one before the command post it spawned at gets captured. Safe to say I have many, MANY memories of using it. Makes sense, as I'm very convinced it was the best tank in the game, by far.
I still have Star Wars the clone wars 2002 game and loved the fighter tanks as I always thought it was a perfect blend between a tank/walker and a speeder bike. It truly was a one man multi role vehicle. Both this one and the one the CIS had in the game. Wish we could've seen it in the tv shows.
Until this video, I always hated having to use this tank in EAs BF2, but now I know it’s because I’ve been using it as a heavy tank like the AAT. While granted it doesn’t have the same boost feature, it makes so much more sense knowing it’s better used as a more agile armored artillery unit. It wasn’t as bad as I thought, I was just using it wrong this whole time lol
I personally like the idea of the TX-130t variant being used to push up into a hectic battlefield and drop off a 4 man clone commando team deep in enemy territory. Or use 2 of them to drop off a 10 man ARC trooper squad too
Love the saber tank from the battlefront games (old and new). And I am so glad you mentioned the imperial S1 firehawk heavy repulsortank. This is my favorite tank for the empire. Its fast, has heavy armor, and has a very accurate main gun that could easily shoot down airspeeders and low-flying starfighters, plus it had a range of 5km. Also had a medium blaster cannon with a 1km range in a secondary turret. Loved the video, look forward to more!
You inadvertently brought to light evidence of the rivalry between the Imperial Navy and the Imperial Army. For defense of the Death Star they used surplus TX-130s because the Imperial Army would not give up any of their walkers
Without an Abso-fraking-lute doubt that the TX-130 is one of my Most Absolute favorite Tanks in the Star Wars Universe!!!!! Definitely enjoyed playing the Republic Fighter Tank in The Clone Wars game on my Original Xbox console Definitely glad it made an appearance in recent Battlefront 2 game
Honestly like the saber for a main vehicle over any walkers, the saber is super versatile and has some great mobility, of course the empire only upgraded it from there which makes it even cooler👌🏻
I remember in the OG battlefront1 the clone trooper variant launched its missiles separately and the imperial version fired them both in a salvo. Plus they had different laser colors. Good times
This has to be one of the worst bot comments I've ever seen. It doesn't even try to hide itself. Either that or they commented on the wrong video. I'm betting it's a bot though.
The quick and Cool hover tank that is awesome in numbers, and the equal to the Seperatists AAT. Ono of my favorite tanks in sci fi…. Next to the AT-TE of course.
Wait 400km range but it cruses at 192km so barely over 2h of operational time if used flat out? i know that they probably wont do flat out for 2h but still that feels realy short range for a fast attack rig.
Next AT TX? A forgotten walker sadly. Loved that clone wars game back in the day, I was waiting it for months when I was a kid lol, reading every official mags having preview on it.
I wish people could talk more about more obscure walkers like the AT-OT :/ I swear like the only non-LEGO AT-OT related video is the video on Republic units for the EAW Fall Of The Republic mod
I feel like the best replacement for the original turret is either the mentioned astromech for cyberwarfare or swapping out the light blaster with a repeating ion cannon in a bubble turret like on the original Y-wing. Having a turrret up top for antipersonnel is useful generally, ion works just as good or better for antipersonnel when your main enemies are droids, AND then you can have the turret gunner soften up shielded targets more effectively so the main guns can take'em down more quickly.
Oh jeez I remember first seeing this in the old battlefront 1 and using it to kill the A.I. heros, running them over was one of the only ways to get the kill for them
I personally think we could really use a Star Wars game that plays like the World of games. Imagine in a Galaxy of Warships game flying around in a Venator fighting Star Destroyers or Providence ships. Or a tank counterpart where you get to play as a Wookiee missile vehicle fighting against people in Hailfire droids.
Can you do a video on the little known species the Qhuloskian? Idk how much info there is on them, but they look cool and have been in a couple interesting stories! I love your channel and I only found it because I just got into a Star Wars kick and found your channel! Keep up the good work!
I really do not understand what was the point of that tracked "tank" in that ambush scene in the city from Rogue One. The dang thing was very low to the ground already and yet they added the main weapons to the sides of the tracks which made it impractical to shoot targets in most if not all environments. Even worse was that the weapon layout was meant for a hover tank which gave it the height and maneuverability to use said weapons but they used it on a tracked vehicle instead.
There is a hover variant of that tank, which we haven't seen used anywhere, but the tank itself is fine, just weird that they wanted a tracked vehicle for the empire though I think an imperial saber tank with an enclosed hover trailed being pulled behind it would have been the best way to do it
I hope the bad batch brings back the TX-130 some day.I also enjoyed piloting it and fighting droids with all the clones that manned the beam cannon. I also love the TX-225.
You should really do a breakdown of the star wars "Mining Guild" they seem like an intresting faction. Or maybe a breakdown of the "Corporate Sector Authority" organisation.
One of my absolute favorite EU vehicles. Sadly I don’t think it got any cooler than in the ‘02 “Clone Wars” game. I always saw it as a Jedi Starfighter OR Snowspeeder on the ground.
I'm a little confused, what's your philosophy concerning canon? I've noticed that your videos seem to lean 90/10 canon/Legends but don't clarify when a source or fact is Canon or Legends. It's not a huge deal and your videos are excellent, I just wanted to know where you're coming from as a creator on the subject of these factoids and canonicity.
If the legends is mutually exclusive I make a seperate vid or say something like, but legends say.., some of the videos will be more legends or canon depending on what info there is
The width can't be right, can it? 3,05 m would mean it's more than twice as long as it's wide and at 1:25 we can clearly see that it's almost square. Does anybody know the real measurements?

As a world of tanks player all I can say is. DO NOT PLAY WORLD OF TANKS. Lol it is a pointless grind and will drain your wallet. Lol

Star Wars armored vehicle manufacturers try to design an enclosed turret challenge: IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTY
Dammit I love this comment
Yet enclosed turrets on starships are the norm. That little thing has always bothered me.
The AAT has an enclosed turret, so why wouldn’t any vehicle meant to counter it have one?
To be fair the at-te,at-ot and some other republic vehicles were probably used even before the Clone Wars broke out so when the war began, the republic didn’t have time to upgrade them so they used whatever they had available and palpatine probably did’t want to be to powerful.
What about the AT-AT, AT-ST, and compact assault vehicle?
(Funny comment btw)

Yes the game in Xbox
Star wars the clone wars
Also these units make me wonder why the empire went freakin low end with atst walker's and at ats

Have you played the empire at war clone wars mod? It's really extensive
This and ATTE are my favorite vehicles from the CW era.
Star Wars media needs to showcase the tanks more often
Rothana Heavy Engineering: "Have you ever seen a Tank with a Nitrous Boost?"

Yes, my favorite tank from Classic Battlefront 2! Safe to say, I love this thing to bits.

The story of Hell's Hammers from the EU are a beloved one for me. The Imperial repulsor tank line were really good designs.

This is hands down the best tank the Republic came up with.

Lego made a great one the first time around. I can't say the same for the second and third attempts...
This tank is Star Wars' version of the Warthog from Halo, it's small, light, packs a punch and seems to be used everywhere by nearly everyone.
Funny how we never saw this in the clone wars series

Did this thing ever make it into TCW animated series? I honestly cannot remember ever seeing it.
Yeah it did I think
No way you can convince me that the AT-TE does 60 kph ...
1:46 It was actually Mace Windu and Luminara Unduli who piloted these saber tanks on Geonosis.
Just so you know, that was Luminara with Mace, not Aayla.
I really want this to appear in actual canon material, not just the Battlefront games, this thing is so cool and underrated
what game was that at 12:30 it look fun
My favorite tank in star wars
Great video, what's the name of the comic from which you got the story of the battle of new plimpto?
Kinda surprised they have no connection to the Hoth Snowspeeders. The body designs are very similar, despit their differing roles.
We all just gonna act like we knew this tank goes 320 kmh?!?!? This thing rips!! I always assumed it was slow!
Been waiting for this one
You mean Luminara not Secura. It’s all good though man good vid.
Also pretty cool to know it basically had a "Nitro/Turbo boost"
Always loved the design
Seems more like a light-armor infantry-support vehicle than a tank.
It’s kinda like the Bradley IFV it’s supposedly a infantry support vehicle but is an excellent anti tank vehicle to.
I had no idea that tank from rogue one had treads.
Fond memories of running over enemy NPCs with this beast in the original Battlefront 2
After using this vehicle to get level 100 for my armour class in BF2 I’m so glad this video is a thing

We need a Star Wars World of Tanks.
Like Squadrons for tanks! That would be so cool!
The saber’s great, but the 2-M Repulsor tank imo is the goat in terms of design. It’s everything the Saber is but with a proper tank gun.
I'm pretty sure the "prototype" is just a smaller one manned fighter tank variant of the larger two manned version we see in video games
These are my favorite star wars tanks, its like the scorpion tanks from halo... but is shoots lazers and has cool colors so its better
