I really like my Rival - I’ve had it for over a year now and have put about 2000 rounds through it without failure. It’s my second/third favorite pistol. In chronological order: - Prodigy 5” - Rival or Custom 1911 (can’t choose which is best) 😂 - Modded Glock 22 chambered in 9mm (yes, it’s a Glock) And so on…
You know what.... you deserve a lot more viewers if not million viewers. The way you present your videos and the way you professionally handle the gun shows you have the experience. I stumbled upon your channel looking for Canik rival videos and glad I found you. Keep up the good work 👏
I just received my first Canik. SFX Rival. Did not have the chance to shoot it yet. I am surprised how much pay between a frame and a slider. None of my other guns (CZ and Walther) has that much play. Also, I have a hard time to push down a slide release, it is really stiff and sometimes seems stuck. I wonder if there an automaker release level with the larger face.
I have the orginal tp9sfx I love it never had a single issue I've thrown on some after market parts like the freedomsmith trigger shoe tf backstraps and such love the gun my favorite pistol I own
Amazing firearms! Looking forward to "needing" a Rival! When getting back into shooting in 2020, I tested 40 handguns and the Mete SFX was a 25 yard bullseye right out of the box. I now own 3 Caniks (Including the MC9L that just dropped). Love how Canik thoughtfully listens to their users and make useful and incremental updates to each model.
I just purchased this pistol. It has a very sweet trigger and is a fast shooter. I think that it is a great bang for the buck. Thanks for the video and please keep them coming.
i shoot uspsa i have bought 3 rivals 1 plastic and 2 steel i have shot 12,000 rds through this platform the guns are ok the qc is ok the mags suck the most there have been 3 diff. versions the new ones that come with the gun are the best but if you want better get walther pdp mags as long as you dont use the mag funnel the problem is every mag you buy even from canik are not the new mags ,also the recoil springs need changed every 2600 rds or it will not go into battery . good luck , i sold mine and went to walther
I got a Mete MC9 for a CC gun but it was a malfunction monster. They sent me a new recoil spring so hopefully that will help once I get a chance to test it. Normally I'd say "This gun goes back and give me a refund" but the gun is so good otherwise, I want to make it work.
I have one and i have no malfunctions. I believe it was a bad batch. Even my boss has one that didnt slide lock at all until i ran 50 rounds through it. All my other caniks have never gave me issues though. Hope your mc9 can run smoothly soon!🙏🏽💪🏽
I have a Rival w a dot, light, Taylor Freelance trigger, mag well and thumb rest. As reliable as my Duty gun (G17). More reliable than my 2011 and just as fast and accurate (OZ for Oz)
I have had my rival for about a year now. I don’t recall what I paid for it. But I see the MSRP for this at about seven bills. As far as I’m concerned, that is a screaming deal for a competition ready Pistol. I shoot 147 Federal subsonics in competition. This is a great gun. Anybody who wants to get started in competitive shooting would be happy with this. And yes, Canik fanboy. This is my fourth Canik. Or maybe my fifth. I can’t remember
My rival -s is the most accurate easy shooting pistol I have. So, for those on the fence, the steel framed rival is superior to the TTI combat. In just about all categories except maybe trigger and to be honest it's a negligible difference on any given day
My wife tried to steal my Rival. When she first started shooting. I took her to a shop and she ended up going with the sig P365 X Macro. My Rival is safe…for now.
I'm considering this as my first firearm for concealed carry. It kind of checks all the boxes. Well, as long as connecticut doesn't deny my constitutional rights yet again. It's been a two year battle. And i'm not a criminal, but anyway. What do you think about this idea? I don't have the money for crazy fancy guns. That's why I was looking at this. It comes with a bunch of stuff. It's a good gun, supposedly. Does anybody have any thought
Probably not the best for a carry gun, sig p365 is a solid choice, especially for a first. I love mine. We can only have 10 rounds here anyway so you’d have to get magblocks for the canik
Definitely would consider something else for everyday concealed carry. If you are really into Canik look into the SC or MC9/MC9L/MC9LS. Also they sell 10 rd mags for those.
keep reviewing Caniks. The haters that get $$ from Glock constantly tell lies about them not running. They Run. with Better ERgos, sights and the best factory trigger on the market. They are building a Factory in Florida. USA Caniks!!
JOSH! Buddy you may want to move on. Ain't healthy to carry a torch over something that won't happen. Appreciate the comment though, have a good weekend.

Hey thanks!
Definitely agree!! Can't beat Caniks for the price! Picked up this extact gun with the mo1 red dot a year ago. I have 5 different caniks now!
They do seem to be a good value!
I’m currently leaning towards this (rival with m01). I have never had a gun with a red dot. How do you like yours?
Yes I got a rival with the MO1 red dot! I love the set up it has been 100% reliable!
@patm9584 The MO1 I believe is a RMR footprint. Since I got the dot with my rival I put the MO1 on my MC9! You will be happy if make the purchase
The best Gun ever that I ever had in my hands this is one of the best guns ever no regrets. Love it every day the best out there.❤
The excellent trigger was the deciding factor when I bought my TP9 SC

Tp9 elite and Hellcat sc are my faves
Please do the Canik TTI Combat next.

I've got the metesfx and I love it sooo much!

Love mine its amazing that thry can build such a great weapon for this price point
Considering cost for what you get it's a great deal. I ordered an aftermarket barrel and had it ported. It's a much flatter shooting gun now fantastic
Nice.

I've got the gray rival and the black mc9. Really want the tti but I think by the looks the rival s is better.
I got a Mete MC9 for a CC gun but it was a malfunction monster. They sent me a new recoil spring so hopefully that will help once I get a chance to test it. Normally I'd say "This gun goes back and give me a refund" but the gun is so good otherwise, I want to make it work.
We had similar issues with the Mete MC9, but this one ran great.
Replaced the spring and have put 1000 rounds through without issue. Hopefully your behaves the same!

@@RIOSTHESHOOTER Thanks, fingers crossed!
@@mateosmithy5668 Thanks
I have 6 Caniks. Not one problem with any of the included the TTI. love them. Next Canik will be the Rival S Darkside.
Would you go for the steel frame or the polymer frame?
Does it make a 200$ big difference? Or is it not worth it?
Disruptive defense optic plate helps drop the dot lower
Thanks for the tip!
Man o man your reviews are better than those of honest outlaw and hickok45.
That's high praise, thank you!
Hubs bought it in steel. It gets heavy after awhile for me. Will get the regular one for me because of that
Steel too heavy. With 26 rds, it's heavy enough.
Like the video, keep posting!
Thanks!

Thanks for your service. Does the TF trigger make a big difference?
@@pewpewtactical yes
Great review very comprehensive!!
Thanks!
🤘 enjoyed the video!
Thanks Ron!

Totally agree, for a race gun it’s a great price.
Awesome video! Thanks.
i love my rival, but if i don't lube and/or clean it it tends to fail once or twice per 500 rounds 😂
I love my Rival -S
Good job
Thanks

You don't use the racker they give you?
Mag well flair.
It's like the guns I'd draw when I was 12. (A bit much for my old tastes now (I like a walther))
Walthers are also a bit much for me. Glocks are simple with minimal wasted lines.
@@johnqpublic2718 Yeah, walther for looks but a G19 for EDC. The ergos on glock can be the best after, Dremel, JBweld + hockey tape.
Those Super Terrain Serrations look somewhat similar.
@@pewpewtactical Yeah. I don't like the newer walthers as much as the M2 PPQ
