All video games are pretty niche by their very nature and struggle to be popular, but for Spice Wars specifically, I think it stems from 3 factors: • It's source material, Dune, is to Star Wars what Game of Thrones is to the Lord of the Rings. A more Mature-oriented story in a genre that has options for more General, and thus broader, audiences. • The game's developer, Shiro Games, may have some good video games under their belt, like Northgard and WarTales, but as of this time of writing, they still lack the tenure of more established devs. • A steep skill ceiling that involves a lot of interconnected systems that is a bit daunting for newcomers but very rewarding when understood and mastered, not to mention the game is in real-time, and unlike stuff like Civ or TW, which has the sections where important decisions that are considered are not connected to a real-time aspect and thus allows more room to think on it. At least this is my speculation as to why.
It's actually one of the only factions you don't need to cap the spice field. Just build harvester and send it there and node around it to avoid using early standing or reducing production by half for not having a node.
10:04 I agree it is expensive and I think it would likely only be worthwhile in large games with a lot of players. One other thing to bare in mind though is that besides getting paid the 500 solari for those who want the patented tech is that you're forcing them to give up solari thus hindering their progress whilst hopefully boosting yours in return which is pretty nice.
I think you didn t dive yet into units effacts. Two things i wanted to point to you . Your suboids can be upkeep free, if you gear them up. And your Mother ship can teleport for free all your troops on your teritory. Quite helpful to retreat instananly and defend if an enemy is backstabing you. I think it s a quite defensing, and heavily spy focus faction : the network buffing units, and your green top tiers technology giving you extra militia on each of your nodes are great for défense. But you can still attack far with a mission that can extend your network out from your territory. (Sry for my english)
Harwesters of this House need connection with network to harwest spice, so you cant use them like frmen harwesters. Important thing: neural nodes give connection to the network for troops (including harwesters) for that and adjacent provinces.
I think you can do a general tutorial of topics not covered by the game itself, and refresh your existing beginner guides and cover the other houses as well. Make urself the main go-to channel for Dune SW, compared to other creators.
in my expeirnec in the early game when you dont ahve enough money for mechanical units you can just spam suboids, especially if you use the DIY kits in the armory to get rid of their upkeep. as the game goes on and you can aford more mechanicl troups you can slowly replace most of them but keep a few because they have a fairly good attack. the bulk of your damage will probably come from the resonance drones though
I just find Hidden Backdoor hilarious because you can make Ecaz' War Banner suckerpunch them instead of buffing them. Just a hilarious move. Also, if you are in a real troll mood: It works when two other people are fighting, too. Just cause everyone's mechanical units to tilt out and watch the fireworks.
That main base structure is really good for those who are confused. Basically the other faction bases have the same style of bonuses with one exception. You only get the big bonuses when you FILL a section. These guys get the bonuses while filling the sections
Also patent isn't really a way to gain money. Like you said it takes a lot to use. But think of the cost your enemies use and it can really inhibit them, especially if you are focusing on the market and have a large income
Last comment. Question is the blog said they had a bit different interaction with fuel cells since most of their military requires it. Do you know about that?
The military tech farthest to the left makes it so you can use water as fuel cells. So you can fuel your army with water! The polar cap is nice for this.
Yea, i think the patent should give you a permanent solari income bonus based on how many factions research it, it doesnt have to be too big for it to be worth while then
military = strong. seems like paper but house cor(white team) has the hardest counter i seen with its artilary but a infil mission can turn those if absolutly nes. but i ran, machine queen army. want at least 2 drone mechanics, 3+ railguns(ramps up with more) 2-4 mechs, 1 aura generator dude for support. This is the main army bulk. the mechanics and queen keep the army healed with their ability even vs main base whilst taking full aoe dmg from it. Never had to retreat once as i used supply drop 1-2 times. i use 6 of the weak front-liners that cost 2 cmd pt each. 5 for full boost and 6th for good measure. these will die as they dont heal from abilities however they make up for it in huge damage and being main target. cheap easy replace at 20mp each with no upkeep. meat shield with high dmg at little cost. In future in going to try spamming them like a hungry machine army at a main base as they get buffs to dmg against it.
Ah yes the one true faction that ensures your darn wifi or service provider WILL NOT JUST GIVE YOU ONE BAR!! At the cost of range of course, but hey we cant be perfect...
I want this game but it's wierd buying a game that's not drm free. I don't like the idea that I'm spending that money and I don't "own" it. Hopefully it will come out on GOG
Hey @Dune_Bro, i discovered this game thanks to you and after watching your guides i got convinced to get it, but is the game very demanding? will a GTX 1650 run it fine or im on trouble?
I'm not really sure about the specs. You might be better off asking on Reddit or the Dune Discord. Thanks for watching and hope you can pick it up! I do know that it is on Xbox as well.
I have the same GPU on a laptop, the game runs on 40fps with all the graphics in law, and a have some lags in the late game when you have a lot of troops in a battle (but i believe it's a game/server lag, everyone pretty much have it)
In case you are wondering - i'd do guide videos, explanations of different mechanics (of which there is a lot), different builds/victory conditions with different factions, etc
This faction does not make any sense in the Dune universe since they fought a great war to destroy all AI and that is why they have the mentats or whatever they are called...
That's true, but house vernius doesn't care a lot about this, they build their vaults underground, so no one can see that they are trying to research forbidden techs. Also, this is the reason, why a lot of the advanced techs cost landsraad stand, because the other houses absolutely hate what vernius does!
Hope you enjoy the guide - support my Dune content by helping me reach 1,000 subscribers! Likes, comments, and shares greatly help.
Why isn’t this game more popular?
IMO, the games can take over an hour to complete.
Not enough big youtubers playing it.
@@Izael1701yeah but its less popular than a lot of games that take longer like civ, humankind, pdx games, total war, etc.

One quick thing about the harvesters u got wrong. You can't just send the harvesters anywhere, they need to be neighboring a node in order to harvest

Your typed English is better than some primary English typers! Your comment has helped me decide to start a ix playthrough

Correct! It is different from Fremen in that regard.
Finally found someone playing this amazing game!

The reason nodes cost standing to build is probably because the network is clearly AI and you're paying people to keep quiet about it.

Most excellent. Thank you for all your hard work. Dune's really a fun game.
Can you do all faction guide especially when they update councilman and have heroes (they massacred lady Wenicia)
I'm planning on working through them one at a time! What's your favorite?
Interesting, when i first tried this faction i made a Y in the attempt to maximise outputs.
Analytical machines cost Landsraad as well.
Man can you believe that i knew your from AOE Drongo’s cast and it took me like 15 min until I realized it was THE Bro! 😅

MAN those units are cheap on solari. Balanced out with a large fuel cell consumption though

@@Dune_Bro thank you that is very valuable

i thought living machines are band in DUNE
Is it just me or do the military units have insaaaane upkeep? like I went into a deficit because of my army alone I was at like -150
I missed the heroes in the notes, updates and DLCs are always such exciting times 😁
Whats the timeline on the console release?

Isn’t that most steam games?
Does obfuscate also affect the house vernius player?
Yes! No one gets the tech after you obfuscate.

Love the game AND the videos. But you gotta keep em coming more frequently 😅
In case you are wondering - i'd do guide videos, explanations of different mechanics (of which there is a lot), different builds/victory conditions with different factions, etc
Love the stream
I think the heroes should start at 1, when it dies you get the other one. If that one dies also, you get no more.
aren't unique techs most important thing?
They are nice, but it doesn't mean you have to rush for them.
Science focus and turtle-y? Ah so theyre Korea from any civ game
Nice.
I don't know what I've been told,
but Deirdre's got a Network Node!
I hate this house a lot playing against other players especially atreides when they can just force truces with you

Sucks it’s an added cost 2 add Ix House.

they’re a pillar to the story in the second trilogy… leto II used much of their tech during his time ruling
