I was 7 when it came out and watched it when I was 8. As someone who has always loved the weird and gross this was up my alley even as a child. I still remember when K’unkeles and Flapjack were at school (because why not?) and K’nuckles kept getting a dunce hat, while Flapjack was praised by the teacher before he made a mistake on a test and was almost killed. I even remember candy wife and her cheating on the bartender.

Flapjack is one of the shows that really got me looking into animation and writing. All the stories in the show were funny, weird, scary, happy, I loved it. And all the characters were great in their own ways. I really miss this show.
Me too! Hes my hero! I was going to make a animation for those who miss it, but seems like not many people like the show so Idk... So glad to hear I'm not alone though!
I think it’s amazing that this one cartoon serves as the starting point for the people who now define the cartoon landscape. And from their own creations we got even more successful creators and their shows, which will probably spawn even more great creators in the future. And all of this is one big family tree stretching back to Flapjack. Hopefully historians will look back on the show and acknowledge it’s legacy.
Actually it's not uncommon for one great project or idea to spawn so many others. Its how history and in a way, how society and ideas work and this is one great example of it. Throughout time, things go that way, ophimer went from nuclear to biology and figured out DNA, polymaths like Einstein and Tesla created and worked with others to bring us some amazing technology, many artists, musicians, writers and storyboarders find the best muse in little can be weird or inncidential moments of real life. Its just interesting to map these trees of inspiration and see where the roots lie.😎 This also brings up the issues copyrights bring but that's a story for another time.😌
@Neil Brown sorry those were the easiest ones to explain the situation as. By saying to someone to eat a bullet your implying **** upon them. Its people that say that type of thing is the reason I he works is so flipped up as it is and actually those who say to others so readily jump off a cliff should do it first to themselves, thus solving the whole conundrum. 😤 I'm sorry you take so much offense to it, I guess you never seen an amazing anime or read a good novel before. Nor indulge in the look up of interesting news topics and seen the light up faces of kids and teens when their favorite show or shows divulge into a subject their studying which in turns makes a stronger connection or liking to said topic. But go on now, let off that rage of modern real life stuff that is being neglected by so many since real life throws nothing but misfortunes, bad luck and dung at them, just like what life did to poor Telsa and how edison and Westinghouse used and abused him and so in a way did the goverment. I' ll give him props due on the ocislator and the ac current but the poor guy thought he caused the lightening up of Europe's sky which was really caused by the Tunguska event, aka meteor. I admit he was amazing but sometimes a bit too overboard on superstitions and the like. But I degress, so much has the world slowed in science and grown stale on ideas you might as well compare them. And attack rhetoric as such as eating bullets are not to be thrown around lightly, as such don't say to anyone that unless ye yourself are prepared to take the same fate, as many animes and some so said cartoons which not all ate kid friendly point out with care. Thus scale back on said rhetoric is best and go the more polite but jab angle unless karma likes to take that offer up someday. Alas, its not me to worry over, but just friendly caution on using such phrasing.😬

I just remember watching an episode or two in the morning before going to school, and despite being the most eerie and sometimes terrifying show to watch, I'd always come back to it, every morning before school.
The Cartoon Network family tree is amazing to study. Going al the way back to the original Cartoon Cartoons, you can trace the lineage of today’s current shows all the way back to Dexter’s Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls.
I never never watched Flapjack, but I never knew it had such an impact. It’s so amazing to see what one show can do! Also, that story about him getting rejected & pitching the same show again years later is so inspiring!
Omgosh Flapjack was the 1st cartoon I LOVED after hitting adulthood. It created a bond between me and my kids, who are now adults themselves, that still goes on to this day. Everytime I see them and they are planning to come back that day or the next. They say...... If I don't come back.... The Dookie and the Rats got me. OUR FAVORITE EPISODE!!! (Diamonds in the stuff) I am now 46 and my daughters are 27 & 28, my son is 23. And we love everything Flapjack. Too bad it didn't last longer than it did. If I'm feeling extra down and out, my go to for a good laugh is most definitely Flapjack. ❤❤❤
Durell Baxter yea this kid definitely had an infatuation with the show and completely disregards all influencing shows before it. But he’s just a kid so I gotta give him a bit of a break.
There was a period in my life where I thought I had made up The marvelous adventures of flapjack bc none of my friends seemed to remember it. I'm happy to know that 1. I did not make up this show 2. People still remember it as a weird, scary, but funny show that had a impact.
I'm so grateful I grew up with such wonderful shows. Flapjack, Adventure Time, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Regular Show, the list goes on and on. I've always sensed something very special coming from these shows, something almost otherworldly. Godbless the amazing artists and creators of all these amazing time machines!
Am I the only one who has realized that Captain K'nuckes is just the older adult version of Blue from Foster's house for imaginary friends and that Flapjack finally does find Candy Island and becomes Finn from Adventure Time
Yes! I love that you guys made this, it's literally all my thoughts wrapped in one video. To this day The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack is my favorite cartoon ever. I loved everything about this show. I know that many find it disturbing and weird, but for me, it was perfect. All of the settings, characters (even background ones) and a specific sense of humor - just my taste I suppose 😂 Seriously, no other cartoon has given me similar feelings as this one. I only wished it had more episodes, but at least Flapjack is a gem we can treasure for what it was and what it gave us in the following years. Thank you, Thurop ♥
LOVED THIS. The influence of Flapjack extended far beyond its creative team and their pursuits. Flapjack was the favorite show of me and one of my great mates in middle school and we both went on to work in artistic fields and he's now working in animation. A lot of that inspiration came from Flappy
I don’t hate FlapJack but the only things I can remember from it are: 1) Punsy McHale episode where FlapJack passes out saying, “You have colorful language.” 2) Fruit prevents SCURVY
There’s something extremely special about weird/creepy cartoons like Flapjack and Billy and Mandy that really leaves a mark on young, impressionable brains. Flapjack and Adventure Time will always be special to me. They always seem to make my heart flutter in a nostalgic way when I think about them.
I remember going to a friend's house, but everytime I wanted to watch this show in her house she was like "my aunt doesn't like me watching this" and I remember asking my self what was the reason for it
i watch flapjack on hulu whenever i need a refreshing dose of nostalgia in my life. it is such a gem we don’t deserve. i can’t even describe the emotions i feel when i watch the intro
Courage the cowardly dog walked so the remaining cartoon in the industry could run; marvellous adventures of flapjack, adventure time, regular show, gravity falls, amazing world of gumball etc
All of this happened in the last 10 years. Well this decade is gonna be a hell of a ride for animation and I can't wait to see what that will future bring.
I remember when it first aired. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw and heard the intro. Then it ended and I was sad, but luckily we got Regular Show and Adventure. Adventure time being my favourite cartoon of all time
From Disney too Hana Barbera, too Nickelodeon and finally back too Cartoon Network. So many years of genius writing and wonderful shows past and current. We just need to thank everyone of those people not just for shaping our childhoods, but the childhood of everyone in the last century. The world wouldn’t be what it is today without that spark of imagination.Thank you Cartoons :)
Oh man, when I was little after school I would literally rush over to the living room to watch The Misadventures Of Flapjack, that was like my jam! And pretty sure if I see it again I would binge watch it💕
I love flapjack, he return me to whatch cartoon's and Cartoon Network. And to watch relly old shows like Adams famaly, Tom and Jerry, scooby doo. But i love Steven Universe to. They all great shows.
I remember loving watching Cartoon Network but it lost its pizazz for a while, then I was playing my instrument and flapjack came on and it dragged me away and back to the tv. It felt like a shift in humor and design and I was so into it. I always tell my friends I thought Flapjack was a pivotal time for Cartoon Network and Im so happy to see this video!
Flapjack,Chowder, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy was my favorite shows. I miss coming home from school, doing my homework and watching them shows
Your channel brings me back to why I started drawing. My love for cartoons is reignited. God, I shouldn't have stopped dreaming on to be a cartoonist. Still, I'm happy that I now have the freedom to choose what I want to be, even though it's late. Thank you for your videos!
I would argue Dexter's Laboratory changed everything. Craig Mckraken creator of the Powerpuff girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Seth McFarlane creator of Family, American Dad, the Cleveland Show. Chris Sevino creator of the Loud House. Butch Hartman creator of the Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, and Tuff Puppy. All came from Dexter's Laboratory. Also since Mark Van Orman worked at the Powerpuff Girls show it wouldn't have probably happened if it wasn't for Dexter's Laboratory. You should check Nerdstolgic's video on Dexter's Laboratory.
Yup, if Flapjack helped to kickstart this current age of great cartoons, it'd be hard to argue that Dexter's Laboratory didn't start the one before it.
Dexter's Lab started in the 90s and its influence lasted throughout the 2000s. By the time Flapjack came around a slump had been hit. TV animation was on the decline, including several of the shows you were talking about. Flapjack, being the starting point for 3 shows usually seen as the forefront of the Cartoon Renaissance, kicked things back into gear. Like, it's called a Renaissance for a reason.
Dang, Flapjack used to air around 11PM where I lived, so I couldn't watch a ton. But when I got to watch it I was hooked. I was what you call a "Wuss,, as a kid, but Flapjack had a right amount of creepy that I wasn't scared of it. They really did something there, Legend of a show.
Wow, amazing! I used to love The Misadventures of Flapjack, Regular Show, and Adventure Time even though I was in and finishing college. They kinda kept me going as dorky as it sounds since I never got in or had any real friends and I can still hear them in the back ground, just like the ol days when I'd lock myself in my room and exercised.
My parents hated me watching Flapjack because of the dark humor, but they loved Billy and Mandy?

@@smf2k01 They liked Courage, but I wasn't really into it.
What the heck? Both shows have dark humor and sometimes that's the best kind XD
It was the opposite for me: my mom watched Flapjack with me, but wouldn't allow me to watch Billy and Mandy.
The Episode when Finn Realized he was scared of the ocean in Adventure Time was the closest thing to flapjack I’ve ever seen. The weird animation switches and the title screen, how the episode was about the ocean
The voice actor for flapjack was in a few episodes of adventure time.
well, the ocean episode was storyboarded by JG Quintel, which was the creative director on Flapjack, and also a close friend of flapjack's creator
@ JG was the creator of Regular Show, right?
Cristian Garcia yes he was

And let's not forget that time when Flapjack tried to play that evil CAT with a string. That realistic close-up of that CAT was extremely horrifying than every horror movies nowadays.

The Roundtable and FlapJack!? AUTOMATICALLY CLICK
Talking about shit when your name is Neil Brown... I see your second name describes your personality aswell as what you talked about... shit
@Neil Brown "hurr durr person like channel and show i dont like and im watching a video about the show i dont like on a channel i dont like and someone disagreeing automatically tells me everything about that person i am very smart."
Fun fact: The creator of Flapjack also directed Angry Birds 2
Good movie
Okay..
that must be why angry birds 2 was so much better than the first
Ayy I like your pfp
Cool
I just remember watching an episode or two in the morning before going to school, and despite being the most eerie and sometimes terrifying show to watch, I'd always come back to it, every morning before school.
Just like courage the cowardly dog
The Cartoon Network family tree is amazing to study. Going al the way back to the original Cartoon Cartoons, you can trace the lineage of today’s current shows all the way back to Dexter’s Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls.
Kinda similar situation with Dexter's Lab and Chowder, where a bunch of people that worked on it went on and created their own shows
I've been saying this to my friends for *years* and that's why we call flapjack the big bang (event) in my group.
"Put Some Respeck on My Name"
Anything for FlapJack
I never never watched Flapjack, but I never knew it had such an impact. It’s so amazing to see what one show can do!
Also, that story about him getting rejected & pitching the same show again years later is so inspiring!
XD Ikr! So much confidence!
We all loved flapjack, that cute little blonde kid!
YES!!!
Announcer: Flapjack changed cartoons with its humor and jokes
Courage the Cowardly Dog: Am I a joke to you?
Durell Baxter yea this kid definitely had an infatuation with the show and completely disregards all influencing shows before it. But he’s just a kid so I gotta give him a bit of a break.
@@mmamusic9634 Bro go home hahaha
Xavi laughing at your own joke that fell flat.. why kid?
Durell Baxter I had to scroll hoping I’d see this comment thank you
Nemo:gross humor
Courage :Hold Ma Beer
I feel like a major idiot for just now realizing that Flapjack, and Gideon are played by the same person
Theland Piranha *Gideon
@@cooljackster7390 thanks I would have never gotten that
There was a period in my life where I thought I had made up The marvelous adventures of flapjack bc none of my friends seemed to remember it. I'm happy to know that 1. I did not make up this show
Flap jack scared me more than courage the cowardly dog
Everyone’s like Oh courage is the Scariest cartoon show
NAAH FLAPJACK WAS HORRIFYING
Nah invader Zim
You’re fkn trippin
FlapJack more scary than Courage?
In WHUT Way?
Mud Fox Then you have to see Ren and Stimpy if you think those are scary.
Especially that cat seen
Invader Zim and Ren and Stimpy: *Are you sure about that*
Am I the only one who has realized that Captain K'nuckes is just the older adult version of Blue from Foster's house for imaginary friends and that Flapjack finally does find Candy Island and becomes Finn from Adventure Time
This just blew my mind I never thought about it that way
Whoooooa 😦
Yeah this is true i was there i was the ocean.
Woah
Rocky Reyes no because that’s a widely known theory. Quit stealing ideas.
I always felt that the adventurer and his wife were flapjack's real parents.
Agreed! I was in happy tears!
LOVED THIS. The influence of Flapjack extended far beyond its creative team and their pursuits. Flapjack was the favorite show of me and one of my great mates in middle school and we both went on to work in artistic fields and he's now working in animation. A lot of that inspiration came from Flappy
Flapjack's laugh is actually iconic during my elementary days and I even learned how to replicate it
Yo this show was my entire childhood! This and Chowder.
Me too
I need a life the humor is both shows was hilarious
Yaaaas love chowder & other shows that was with them like foster homes & that one camp show with the monkeys lol
@@truvy_5544 OMG yes! Camp Lazlo was awesome too! !
I forgot about Camp Lazlo! That show RULED!
I don’t hate FlapJack but the only things I can remember from it are:
1) Punsy McHale episode where FlapJack passes out saying, “You have colorful language.”
2) Fruit prevents SCURVY
There’s something extremely special about weird/creepy cartoons like Flapjack and Billy and Mandy that really leaves a mark on young, impressionable brains. Flapjack and Adventure Time will always be special to me. They always seem to make my heart flutter in a nostalgic way when I think about them.
"I wasn't even going to bring a pocket knife." The absolute madman
I remember going to a friend's house, but everytime I wanted to watch this show in her house she was like "my aunt doesn't like me watching this" and I remember asking my self what was the reason for it
This is the problem though. So many parents/legal guardians are always like "NO YOU CAN'T WATCH THIS" but then never communicate why.
@@craycraywolf6726
My grandma at least tells me the reason. The reasons are dumb but at least she told me (or I picked up why)
Man I loved Flapjack when I was growing up. It's actually the main reason why I named my pet duck that.
Thats awesome! I loved the show too!
Where did you get a duck?
@@maliyagreen1011 For my birthday when I turned I believe 11.
Ant Happinin What a great gift. Your parents must be really cool

I love Flapjack, best cartoon when I young, I always did wanted to see Flapjack and Sally Syrup get together.
Me too! I may make an animation on that! XD That gave me an idea lol
i watch flapjack on hulu whenever i need a refreshing dose of nostalgia in my life. it is such a gem we don’t deserve. i can’t even describe the emotions i feel when i watch the intro
Bruh, this is now one of my all time fav UA-cam video. This is our cartoon history and we got to see it grow. Makes me wanna cry 😢
And now flapjack is part of AT lore
It all comes full circle.

what? bro who remembers any of the episodes from flapjack? it's been so long
Huh
I guess the only show that didn’t come out of flapjack is TTG
Good
That explains a lot
Courage the cowardly dog walked so the remaining cartoon in the industry could run; marvellous adventures of flapjack, adventure time, regular show, gravity falls, amazing world of gumball etc
Love all your videos
1 year and no commets wow
i remember staying up late just to watch flapjack, chowder, and billy and mandy
9:15 I really liked that he kept going. I hate when videos end
All of this happened in the last 10 years. Well this decade is gonna be a hell of a ride for animation and I can't wait to see what that will future bring.
That show was iconic and a gem not many people appreciated.
I remember when it first aired. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw and heard the intro. Then it ended and I was sad, but luckily we got Regular Show and Adventure. Adventure time being my favourite cartoon of all time
Im so glad to see this show even after ending is getting the love it deserves. it was an amazing show that honestly need WAY more attention.
Thank you, give this series more recognition
Out of all the weirdness of old CN. Flapjack was arguably my favorite.
I still can't believe they never got to candied island 😂
They only got there once, but the moon pulled them back up.
And pretty sure if I see it again I would binge watch it💕
U can it’s on HBO Max!!
And Hulu
I love flapjack, he return me to whatch cartoon's and Cartoon Network. And to watch relly old shows like Adams famaly, Tom and Jerry, scooby doo. But i love Steven Universe to. They all great shows.
Ikr!
BRO THEY SHOULD CONTINUE THIS. I MISS WATCHING THIS EVERY 1 AM
Flapjack was interesting to me. It was so weird but I loved it
I remember loving watching Cartoon Network but it lost its pizazz for a while, then I was playing my instrument and flapjack came on and it dragged me away and back to the tv. It felt like a shift in humor and design and I was so into it. I always tell my friends I thought Flapjack was a pivotal time for Cartoon Network and Im so happy to see this video!
Flapjack,Chowder, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy was my favorite shows. I miss coming home from school, doing my homework and watching them shows
This uploaded on my birthday. And Regular Show was in it!

Honestly Flapjack, Chowder, etc... They are all great cartoons :3

This is the show that sparked my fear of what lurked under the deep and my love and fear of giant beast
Your channel brings me back to why I started drawing. My love for cartoons is reignited. God, I shouldn't have stopped dreaming on to be a cartoonist. Still, I'm happy that I now have the freedom to choose what I want to be, even though it's late. Thank you for your videos!
Flapjack is the most slept on top 20 cartoon of all time bruh this was my favorite show
And now this show is the roots to a tree that created the modern day cartoon.
5:47 I think "Sea Legs" inspired the ending of Game of Thrones.
K'Nuckels: *YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO DO MORE THAN THAT TO IMPRESS ME*

K'Nuckels: *NNAAAAANNNNNIII*
what episode was that?
flapjack inspires me so much as an artist. especially bc I love the north and steampunk
Fucking finally. Flapjack is such an underrated gem and the biggest shame is it ain't even on dvd let alone blu ray.
This video was AMAZING. Lots of effort went into this and it is visible. Great job guys
I discovered flapjack when I was 11 and I'm instantly hooked, obsessed and loved the character. Wow! ❤️
me too (still am, not as crazy tho)
Ramon Rodriguez bump
Yup, if Flapjack helped to kickstart this current age of great cartoons, it'd be hard to argue that Dexter's Laboratory didn't start the one before it.
this could be true tbh, cool profile pic btw
@@flapjackfanic9933 Thanks :)
